• While using eScripts, select the yellow “Insurance and Detailed Formulary

button

• On the eScripts “Patient Details” Screen (the “Pt. Details” tab) fill in the

“Healthplan/Insurance/Formulary” area

• This is the patient’s Insurance Carrier(s)

Note: If you have the MU Assistant option activated, it will indicate if a patient Formulary information has been entered. After the Formulary info is

entered, the next time a medication is ePrescribed, the MU Assistant will automatically update.

• Use the Additional Demographics screen to enter the information • You may now have up to 2 races

• The Preferred Language has to be selected from a predefined list because

each language has to have a specific code associated with it

Access and Update Vital signs from the SOAP Note screen or the Patient Profile screen

A. Use the new “MU Components” window and select Smoking.

B. From the SOAP Note screen, click on “Soc/Family History” then “Update Smoking Status”

C. From the Patient Profile screen, click on the “Smoking Status” textbox

Note: There are new smoking status options, including Smoking Started and Stopped dates

First, your User ID Security has to be set to allow you to “Update Decision Support Rules”

A. From the “MU Central” menu select the option “Define Clinical Support Decision Rules”

B. You can use the top left toolbar option “Tools” then “Add Starter Rules”. This will prompt you to add some pre-defined rules, to help get you started or even to add some new rules to the ones you already have.

To create a new rule, simply click the green “Add New Rule” button.

To update a rule, just click on the rule name from the “Rules Listing”

Note: Rules can specify multiple types of criteria.

1. Use the top toolbar to watch a Help or Training Video

2. You can specify which type of employees will be alerted for each rule you

define.

3. You can deactivate a rule at any time, and re-activate at some point, if you

like.

CCDA’s are the new format for Clinical Summaries

A. Print out the CCDA or Upload the CCDA to the patient’s portal. B. The SOAP note must be signed before the CCDA can be printed.

C. Set the “Advanced Utility Menu” then “Meaningful Use options” to automatically upload the CCDA to the patient’s Legacy Portal and the NewCrop Portal.

From an open SOAP Note, select the Education button in the Assessment/Plan section

1. Select the type of Search Materials you wish to use 2. Select from the Patient’s Search Info

3. Click the green “Search” button

1. You can use the free Government website for MedLinePlus to find info on your search criteria.

2. You can click on the web page, then use Ctrl-P keys to print the information.

3. If you use a PDF Printer driver, you can capture the information and even save it in the PowerSoftMD Document Library for future use.

When you exit the web page, if you are giving the patient the educational material simply reply “Yes”

When you exit the Plan window, you will notice the Educational material will be Noted and a plus + sign will be included. The plus + sign indicates the education Resources were identified by PowerSoftMD for this specific patient.

1. The SOAP Note must be signed.

2. PowerSoftMD requires text in the “Chief Complaints” area.

3. You can search the note by using the Magnifying Note Display Window.

Again, the Eligible Provider (Doctor, NP, PA, etc.) must Sign the Note for it to count. A. You can make Amendments to notes after they have been signed.

B. You can even un-sign and re-sign the note.

1. Open the Family History Update Screen from the Patient Profile Screen, then select the “Update Family History” button.

2. You can also open the Family History Update Screen from the Patient SOAP Note screen. Select the “Soc/Fam History” button, then click the “Update Family History” button.

2. On the “Family History” screen, when you click on fields that require special information or are associated with required codes, a pop-up selection appears.
