Good project management is ultimately about combining great leadership with careful application of proven strategy and management techniques. Like any good recipe, it is really about having all right factors, i.e. planning, controlling, monitoring and communication; and the ability to apply these factors in precisely the right proportions.

Ascom can provide professional Project Managers that would be responsible for all project deliverables, and would essentially drive projects from initiation all the way to successful project completion. Our Project Managers, who are certified in the PRINCE2 methodology, would manage all reporting, communications, run effective meetings and gain customer acceptance prior to initiating the project closure process.

Ascom provides a wide array of installation services. We pride ourselves on compliance of the latest industry standards, and best practices. Our professional services staff can be assigned for any of the following:

Network Cabling

This normally includes building inspections, floor planning, physical cable routing, installation of cable management systems i.e. trunking, and tray assembly. Ascom can supply, install and test all voice and data cabling on-site, at a customer location.

Network Installation

Quality assured installation of all network elements (both Ascom and 3rd party equipment). Ascom can supply and/or install all relevant equipment and the connection of any external interfaces. Our engineers also perform complete network cable performance testing or verification; prior to system testing that thereafter includes connected network elements.

Configuration

Our professional service staff provide initial programming and system configuration of all network elements in accordance with original system blueprint/specification. This includes the installation of associated software licenses to enable the specified features and required functionality, which also includes the configuration of the specific system parameters related to the individual network elements.

Integration

Our professional service staff would perform rigorous integration testing,

thereby identifying bottlenecks. This service is to enable, remove, or mod-ify the system functionality as it relates to the connections towards any additional Ascom systems, communication networks, or 3rd Party systems and applications.

Commissioning & Go-Live Assistance

Services by which a system is turned on and is tested to verify that its features and functions perform within the parameters specified in the customer order/project brief. We are also able to provide subject matter experts to assist on-site with "Go-Live" activities and to handle any un-timely impact of last minute issues.

Ascom can provide a wide portfolio of training ranging from standardized certification and qualification training to highly customized and specialized end-user training to suit the needs of our individual customers. Our trainers are either specialists or subject matter experts that well versed in adapting training material to match the requirements of the target audience. Ascom can provide everything from basic end-user training on how to use specific features/functions of Ascom systems; to very “hands-on” and highly specialized training that educates the customer's own technical staff on matters relating to performing maintenance and system administration.

Ascom can develop completely new customized software applications or create feature enhancements for existing products/solutions that perform specific functions that are not included in the general release. This could also include changes to existing system parameters to facilitate interoper-ability with previously non compatible devices.

Ascom also provides specialized advisory services to help our customers to design their dedicated solutions that tightly integrate and align Ascom systems with the customer’s own business processes. These services will support and guide the customer to further improve systems, organization and/or processes based on Ascom's extensive experience in providing mission critical communication solutions.

Our Consultancy/Advisory services include the following:

System Design

This is the initial development of a system blueprint that clearly defines the overall systems architecture as well as the various components that deliver the required functionality. This service includes the production of a complete document that contains all of the information necessary for the customer to gain approval to continue with the deployment.

Site Survey

Ascom professional service staff perform a thorough and comprehensive assessment of a customer’s premises to determine suitability, estimate quantities and document the equipment required to provide a reliable mobility solution; i.e. whether DECT, WiFi or paging and combinations thereof Ascom provides quality assurance to ensure adequate radio cover-age throughout the customer facility in accordance with the customer’s own specification. The final Site Survey report describes the total number and precise placement of access points and also includes identifies any limita-tions thereof, plus all the cable and power requirements for the system(s) to be installed.

IP Network Assessment

This is Quality Assurance (QA) service specifically intended to benchmark the capability and performance of a customer’s existing IP network infra-structure. The aim is to thoroughly test all network elements in order to provide the customer a complete assessment of their network’s ability to support high-quality Ascom platforms including VoWiFi traffic. The cus-tomer is then provided a detailed report of all the findings.

Health Check

This service essentially provides an appraisal of already installed systems. The purpose is to conduct thorough on-site system testing and performance analysis aimed at providing Quality Assurance. Though this service can be provided on ad-hoc request, it is normally provided at regular time intervals during the life cycle of a maintenance agreement. The outcome is a written report that fully describes our recommendations to improve overall systems performance and reliability (i.e. including integration to other systems in the customer environment).

Clinical Consultation

Only individuals with years of daily experience working in real clinical envi-ronments can truly gauge the point of diminishing return and balance the information flow that comes with new capabilities. Ascom purposely staffs Clinical Application Specialists i.e. experienced Registered Nurses with exceptional qualifications and certifications to provide Clinical Consultation. This allows Ascom to provide critical guidance during the project life cycle and optimize your investment in communications. This service is performed on-site, and provides expert clinical guidance to customers that will include

Ascom products in their clinical work flow.

Medical Project Coordination

This is a service specifically designed for Ascom resellers and sales partners. This service is conducted on a per-project basis, where Ascom provides the necessary guidance to ensure regulatory compliance. It addresses all fundamental requirements concerning implementation and servicing of Ascom medical device.

Migration Consultancy

Pre-study to analyze how an optimized migration can be performed to a new technology and/or a new software version of an Ascom system.

Locator Systems Assessment

This is critical appraisal of existing positioning systems. The purpose is to perform comprehensive verification and validation testing for the sake of Quality Assurance. All existing positioning equipment is therefore tested to safeguard that it sends the correct identifiers and coordinates. The service also includes an assessment of potential changes in buildings where the positioning equipment has been deployed (venues re-built, naming of rooms/departments changed etc.).

Technical On-Site Assistance

This is another service that is designed specifically to aid our resellers and sales partners. Our professional service staff essentially work in collabora-tion with our partners to provide technical expertise and the necessary competence to plan and/or implement Ascom solutions; a similar service may be provided to fix any arising problems/issues that fall outside the Partner's capabilities.
