All the best holidays are full of stories. And Azura will be

brimming with them.

A majestic form in Monfalcone shipyard, near Venice, Azura is taking shape in a rain of fizzing welder’s sparks. What began as a rendering on an architect’s drawing board is gradually coming to life in the most dramatic form. Days sailing the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the serene Norwegian fjords and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean lie ahead, moments which will compose a million different experiences in the hearts and minds of her passengers. Every day, every deck, every destination represents a new story just waiting to be told.

Taking her place in P&O Cruises rich history, which extends over 170 years, Azura will join the fleet in 2010; a new chapter ready to unfold. She will have her own atmosphere and feel and, just as her name conjures up images of the deep blue ocean, she will embody the thrill and romance of cruise travel.

More than that though, Azura will epitomise everything we hold dear, from exceptional choice to delivering the highest standards of excellence every minute of every day, all within a modern ship environment. Forging forward with an unerring dedication to quality and detail, this exciting new superliner will deliver on every possible level. She will capture the romantic spirit of cruising whilst pushing the boundaries of luxury, indulgence and innovation.

An epic adventure or perhaps a romance, what will your story be? With so much unwritten, only you can decide.

AZURA

WHERE THE EXTRAORDINARY

CAN BE DISCOVERED EVERY DAY

Join Azura and Britain’s favourite cruise line to

experience the embodiment of sophistication.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

At P&O Cruises, the phrase ‘back to the future’ isn’t about a trilogy of classic eighties films. To us it’s about building on our rich heritage as an elegant and favoured form of passenger transportation. It’s about looking back at what it was to traverse the world by sea; the romance of cruise travel; the adventure of discovering exotic foreign shores and the sophistication of beautifully crafted surroundings, and fusing these classic cruising ingredients with everything you would expect from a modern holiday. Azura is the product of this philosophy - the literal expression of ‘back to the future’.

THE DEFINITION OF DISCOVER

The dictionary defines discover as ‘to find unexpectedly’. To step ashore and discover the most stunningly improbable white sand beach in Antigua. To identify the brush strokes that make up the canopy of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. To watch each perfectly placed step of a company of ballet dancers in a Russian palace. All are exhilarating experiences you could discover with Azura. But what of the unexpected moments and experiences you can find on board? They too can be as diverse and exhilarating as your time ashore. Sensing the big, bold flavours of an exquisitely presented dish burst onto your palate as you dine in Sindhu. Breathing in the scented aromatherapy oils and fresh ocean air as your body is encouraged into a state of relaxation in the exclusive alfresco spa terrace. Enjoying the unique cinematic experience of watching a blockbuster film beneath a velvet, star-studded night sky.

The experiences that await your discovery on board are often inclusive in your holiday price and are shown below. Combine this with the fact that both our holidays and any additional items that you might want to treat yourself to on board are priced in sterling, and you can be certain that your holiday on board Azura is exceptional value for money.

AZURA

WHERE DINING IS

AN EXPERIENCE

Ocean views. The passions of only the most skilled

chefs. Great company and conversation. Discover it all

with Azura.

A FOODIE-FRIENDLY SHIP

Azura, quite simply, is a gourmand’s haven - there are restaurants aplenty when you step outside your stateroom for the night. The passion and creative culinary flair of our Executive Chefs, who are all inducted into the esteemed Chaîne des Rôtisseurs society, is rivalled only by Atul Kochhar, the 3 times Michelin-starred chef, and the effervescent TV wine connoisseur Olly Smith.

CELEBRATING BRITAIN’S LOVE OF INDIAN CUISINE

P&O Cruises has always been proud of its long-standing affiliation with India and Azura celebrates this in style. ‘Master of Spices’, Atul Kochhar, is the creator of Azura’s exciting Sindhu restaurant where he will showcase his unrivalled flair for fine dining Indian style. He artfully balances the big bold flavours of his homeland’s spices with the delicate and modest tastes and textures of familiar ingredients, creating dishes such as Jal Tarang – Spice crusted scallops with Grape and Mint Dressing.

RAISE A GLASS AT THE GLASS HOUSE

The Glass House is an upmarket, yet relaxed wine bar and restaurant. Lovers of wine will find their desires sated by a varied wine list, which includes some classic vintages. When you choose from the signature menu of succulent seafood and grills, each course will be complemented perfectly by wines expertly matched by experienced TV wine buff Olly Smith. Should you wish to benefit from Olly’s expertise in person then, on occasions, you’ll find him on board sharing his passion and knowledge of wine.

WHAT’S IN A NUMBER?

Seventeen, a fine dining restaurant, is a classic dining room shaped by the revered supper clubs of past and present. This sophisticated venue will feature a premium, carefully balanced, European menu in an elegant setting. An emphasis on grand style and flawless service - the hallmark of the P&O Cruises dining experience - can be enjoyed here. And the pristine white table linen, silver trays laden with hors d’oeuvre and dishes skilfully carved at your table, will strike a discerning tone.

SILVER-SERVICE WORTHY OF GOLD STARS

The Chefs and Restaurant Managers attending Azura’s three main dining rooms will perform an incredible feat each and every night, serving divine five-course menus for hundreds of diners, each course delivered attentively from the team of fast-moving, silver-service waiters. You can choose to dine at the same time each evening with our classic fixed sitting times (Club Dining) or leave your dining time completely flexible (Freedom Dining).

AZURA

WHERE PAMPERING

IS A PRIORITY

Enjoy sublime treatments as you sail for distant shores,

gazing out upon calm waters or breathing in fresh

ocean air on the alfresco spa terrace. Inside and out you

will be left feeling wondrously invigorated.

FLOAT OFF ON A SEA OF SERENITY

Azura’s Oasis Spa is a perfect way to soothe body and mind. Expert therapists work their magic as they create a warm, wonderfully calm aromatic space designed to lift you to a state of pure relaxation. Their hands work with dexterity to rid you of the rigours of modern day life that so often reside in muscles and minds. For a quick pick-me-up you could opt for a few hours in her Thermal Suite, where steam rooms and aromatic showers will cleanse the body and soul. And to dry off, what better way than reclining, ensconced in a soft towel on one of Azura’s heated ceramic loungers?

The salon that sits alongside is another option for a little pampering with a range of manicure, makeovers and hair styling services on offer. Neither the spa nor the salon can be considered the domain of the fairer sex. Those that like to treat themselves to facials, manicures and other such grooming treatments when they’re at home will find they can continue to do so on board Azura. And if they don’t currently indulge in such rejuvenating activities, then this is a perfect time to start.

SPA STATEROOMS

Blissful rejuvenating massages, facials and hot stone therapy are not the only type of treatment awaiting you, there’s also that of the VIP variety. If you love nothing more than tranquil surroundings and treating yourself to some serious pampering, Azura’s spa staterooms could be the ideal choice of accommodation whilst on board. Affording you preferential access to the Oasis Spa and The Retreat, exclusive offers and luxury pamper products, these staterooms will be situated just a short stroll from the spa and are designed to provide another dimension to your holiday.

YOUR EXCLUSIVE RETREAT

This is your chance to savour lazy afternoons lounging in the sunshine, enjoy indulgent spa treatments beneath the shade of an airy cabana and sip a freshly prepared fruit smoothie as you watch the world go by. Azura’s exclusive spa terrace, aptly named The Retreat, will be the first in the fleet to offer a choice of treatments in the open air. With stewards on hand to serve you a refreshing drink or offer you a cooling facial spritz. This is as close as you can get to total and utter bliss. And just when you thought it couldn’t get much better, how does star gazing from this idyllic oasis sound? With intimate, softly-lit spa evenings planned on Azura, you can sip champagne as you enjoy a treatment beneath the stars.

To protect the exclusive atmosphere of The Retreat a small membership fee will apply for which further details will be available on board.

AZURA

WHERE ENTERTAINMENT

IS OUT OF THIS WORLD

Hollywood in the moonlight, a night at the West

End or an evening gazing at the Northern Lights.

Entertainment on Azura promises to take you

beyond the realms of the ordinary.

A VENUE FOR EVERYONE AND EVERY MOOD

From stylish bars, to a contemporary pub, vibrant show lounges, a show-stopping theatre, and a mesmerising casino, Azura will offer every opportunity to have fun and socialise. And, with a number of new innovations on board, your leisure options couldn’t be richer.

A WORLD OF INSPIRATION

Inspired by the premise of many an adventure, Azura’s architects and designers have conceived some exciting plans for her many entertainment venues. Take The Planet Bar - a venue that will feature a signature floor-to-ceiling audiovisual wall. At night it will come alive with the greatest natural and manmade wonders of the world, all captured specifically and exclusively for Azura. Each night you can enjoy a different awe-inspiring display. You might be swept away to the Saharan desert, witness the captivating natural phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis or explore the world’s largest palace complex – China’s spectacular Forbidden City. Each evening will be tailored to your virtual destination with a special drinks menu that will add to your immersion in the experience.

Then there’s the Manhattan show lounge, inspired by the bright lights and energy of the ‘Big Apple’. Live bands, late night dancing and comedians will find their home here. Malabar on the other hand, is a vibrant entertainment venue with a modern Indian style, where you might find anything from cabaret artists to trios, quartets and timeless dancing.

Drawing inspiration from a little closer to home, Azura’s pub and casino are contemporary spaces that give a nod to the classic London pubs serving draught beers and ales, while The Playhouse theatre echoes the excitement and applause of the West End.

Azura’s Atrium will provide another social hub. An animated space that never sleeps, especially after dark. By evening there will be music and dancing, as well as special events and entertainment such as Gala Evening Receptions – a favourite P&O Cruises tradition.

SEASCREEN, A CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE

Another of Azura’s exciting signature features is to be located out on deck, where her deck bars and Aqua Pool create a pleasant buzz. This is your chance to enjoy an open-air cinematic experience from the comfort of a cushioned lounger, with a cocktail or cold beer, and some popcorn in hand. There’ll be family favourites in the sunshine, the latest blockbusters as the sun goes down and timeless classics beneath shimmering starlit skies bringing you all the magic, action and glamour of the silver screen in the most relaxed of settings.

THE MEDITERRANEAN

A region bursting with possibilities, a visit to the Mediterranean fills your

senses. Whether it’s the distinctive scent of fresh basil wafting from

nearby market stalls, the tingle of sunshine-infused flavours on your

tongue or the ever-changing scenic backdrop, it’s difficult to think of a

holiday more satisfyingly diverse. Awaking to the medieval walled city of

Dubrovnik, dazzling white-washed Greek towns festooned with tumbling

bougainvillea, or even the magical sight of Venice on the horizon, there

are few more welcoming or intriguing parts of the world.

THE CARIBBEAN

There’s an easy charm about the Caribbean islands. Colourfully painted

shuttered houses, turquoise waters, swaying palms and sweeping white

sand beaches create an ambience that, if bottled, could be described as the

very essence of holidays.

Drawing the curtains to a view of a new island almost every morning, every

day can be different. You might take an aerial tram through St. Lucia’s lush

rainforest, take the plunge with Tortola’s graceful stingray, or sip coconut

milk straight from the shell amongst the plantations of Dominica; where

your adventure leads is up to you.

Time seems to slow and from taxi drivers to guides and market vendors,

you’ll find the locals keen to entertain you with tales of island life. Whether

it’s news of the latest celebrity to buy a house in Barbados, legends such

as St. Maarten’s ‘Drunken Dutchman’ or a personal recommendation

for the very best jerk chicken, you’ll find their stories only serve to enrich

your own.

CANARY ISLANDS

Shrouded in legend, there are few more intriguing stories than those

surrounding the creation of the Canary Islands. Forming a gentle arc in

the Atlantic Ocean just to the west of Morocco, it’s said the islands are the

uppermost peaks of the fantastical lost continent of Atlantis.

Whether you like to believe in the wonderfully romantic notion that the

temples and palaces of the lost city could lie beneath its inviting waters,

the ‘fortunate’ islands are worthy of many a modern day adventurer’s tale.

Step ashore to explore and you’ll find every isle is different. You can discover

Tenerife, with its sprawling national park, lava rivers and mountains.

La Palma’s strikingly lush landscape and Gran Canaria’s undulating

desert sands.

Your adventure does not end there though. You’ll call at the picturesque

island of Madeira – famed for its shady levadas, exotic flowers and

cliff-top waterfalls – the lively coastal Spanish city of Vigo, and the Portuguese

capital, Lisbon.

THE BALTIC

Sail north and the possibilities are distinctly magical. Palaces, broad avenues

and the grandest of architecture are yours to discover along with quaint

cobbled streets and beautiful gilded churches. The cities of the Baltic have

a certain fairytale charm and from discovering room after room of imperial

treasures and artworks in St. Petersburg’s impressive Hermitage, to feeling

like a child again amongst the twinkling lights of Tivoli Gardens, every day

can be different.

Harking back to their Viking ancestry, the residents of the Baltic thrive on

ocean life, so what better way to discover this region than by ship? Fresh

fish abounds in local restaurants. Fishing vessels line the shore. And yachts

moor in the marinas. Drink in the café-culture and breathe in the fresh,

Nordic air as Azura weaves her way onward, enriching your holiday with yet

more experiences.
