Mission of the Program

The 2015 Summer Program of MIS will be hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology School of Management (HIT SoM), which is among the first four management schools in China. Renowned senior scholars and active young researchers worldwide of Information Management and Information systems will be invited as instructors to lecture on the research methodologies and cutting-edge topics of big data and business analytics. The mission of the program is to provide the PhD and Master students and the outstanding undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn from the first-tier scholars in this area and gain research expertise systematically. Meanwhile, the program will also serve as a platform of learning and communication for the students in this area worldwide to facilitate long-term cooperation relationship and academic outcomes of high quality. As a highlight of the program, workshops will be held in which the students can get guidance from the instructors on improving their own research. 2 credit hours certificate will be provided by Harbin Institute of Technology. The students are encouraged to grasp this valuable opportunity to perfect their working paper to get accepted by leading international academic journals.

Accommodation for Students

HIT will provide complimentary lodging for students out of town. Students can also

choose to book hotels around the university at their own expense and HIT will offer assistance on hotel reservations (if needed, please provide your preference on hotel and room types in the application email). Please refer to the website http://today.hit.edu.cn/hotel/for detailed information on hotels nearby. Daily meals, required books, lecture notes and other learning materials will be provided for free and the tuition fee of the students for the program is waived. The participants will bear their own transportation expenses.

Application Instructions

2015 Summer Program of MIS plans to admit active young scholars and PhD

students, Master students, and outstanding undergraduate students majored in Management Information System, Management Science and Engineering, and other related subjects worldwide. Due to budget constraints, the program will admit

150 formal students PhD students, Master students, and undergraduate students). Applicants should fill the application form (see the attachment at the end

of this document) and send it to hitis@hit.edu.cn by email with the subject of

2015HITIS-Your Name. Admission is based on academic experience and other conditions of the applicant. Notification of admission will be emailed back to each

applicant. Updates will be posted on the website of HIT SoM http://som.hit.edu.cn.
