The PhD in Business Administration aims to promote ad-vanced research in Business Administration as well as preparing students to respond to the social and economic challenges faced by organizations both at national and in-ternational levels.

This PhD programme has been offered for more than two decades and contributes to the reputation of the postgra-duate education of the University of Minho and the School of Economics and Management.

The programme relies on highly qualified faculty, who hold doctoral degrees awarded by prestigious European and American Universities, and whose research quality is re-flected in an increasing number of publications in reputed international scientific journals.

The programme is structured in two components: a course

work component of two semesters, and a PhD thesis that should be completed in four semesters. The course work component includes both compulsory and elective course units designed to enhance students’ general and specific skills in the different business management research areas and stimulate interdisciplinary research. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate in other research and training activities organized by the School and the Univer-sity.

If you are looking for advanced high quality education that prepares you for an active role in an increasingly challen-ging and globalised world, the PhD in Business Administra-tion is the right choice.
