About the Institute

Central Training Institute for

Instructors, Chennai was established in November, 1962 under the aegis of NCVT, DGE&T, Min. of Labour and

Employment, Govt. of India, New

Delhi with ILO assistance, to train Vocational Instructors for Industrial Training Institutes/ Centers

Subsequently Model Training

Institute was also created in

February 1965 to enable instructor trainees to have practice teaching.

Presently the institute has been

identified to train the craft

instructors required for Center Of Excellence (COE) under the World Bank assisted “Vocational Training improvement Project”
