NEWSLETTER: 16th October 2020 Dear Parents/Carers,
Unfortunately, this week we had to close two of our classes as a result of two
positive cases of COVID-19. We wanted to thank the parents/carers in those classes for their incredible support and
understanding. We know how hard it is for families when they receive the letter and the pressures this can put on you,
particularly when you have to manage work and childcare. However, ever parent/carer understood, that in order to keep everyone safe, we have to follow the government guidelines.
Home Learning packs have been provided and the weekly Home Learning will continue to be uploaded onto the school website.
Those parents/carers who have siblings who continue to attend school, may bring their child with them, if they have no one to look after them at home. We would ask that you are extra vigilant and maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres, whilst on the school premises.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!
ADDITIONAL COVID-19 HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES
We continue to monitor and review the systems we have in place and wanted to let you know about some of the extra measures we have put in place.
- PHS antibacterial sprays have been fitted over every toilet door. These release an anti-COVID-19 spray
intermittently to ensure the toilets are kept extra clean.
- Hand sanitisers have been fitted outside every. The gel is ‘child-friendly’ and anti-COVID-19. - All those classrooms/pods which
have been closed down will have a deep clean undertaken by a professional cleaning company. We want to ensure our school is as safe as possible for our children.
OCTOBER: THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY Please continue to pray one Hail Mary together. We cannot come together physically but we can in spirit through prayer. Please join us!
This year, our focus is poetry by Benjamin Zephaniah.
Each class will select a poem to study and share at our special BHM Zoom assembly on Thursday 22nd October. An invitation will be sent out to all parents/ cares. We hope you can join us!

SCHOOL COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES UPDATE
A BIG THANK YOU to all our children and parents/carers for your patience and cooperation again this week. Please note: pick up on Fridays is
12.30pm. The school gates will not open prior to this to ensure the children have eaten their lunch before going home. Over these next few weeks, we will continue to review and adapt our safety measures. If parents/carers
have any feedback, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us either by telephone 0113 3368433 or email
hrsa@hrsaprimary.co.uk.
CURRENT GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES HANDS - Wash your hands regularly and for 20 seconds. FACE - Wear a face covering in indoor settings where social distancing may
be difficult, and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet.
SPACE - Stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings or increasing ventilation indoors). Every one of us has a part to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19… please play your part for the sake of our
children!
KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE
HEALTHY LUNCH BOXES
Please ensure your child brings healthy food in their lunch box to ensure they have the energy and focus for their learning in the afternoons.
Please do not pack sweets, biscuits, crisps, etc as these can cause children to become fatigued in the afternoons. We will be sending out a healthy school lunch box policy soon to support parents/cares. RAFFLE WINNERS THIS WEEK
Congratulations to: Aahil, Federica, Musa, Amy and Shalom.
Reminder: Home Learning is uploaded onto the school website every week on Mondays and a hard copy sent home with the children on Friday’s at 12.30pm. To access the Home Learning from the website, follow the instructions below: https://www.holyrosaryandstannes.org.uk / classes & curriculum
go to your child’s class. Click on the most recent date.
We are in the process of developing ‘bitesize’ teaching videos for
parents/carers on how to support your child at home in Phonics and Reading. The staff model how to teach the particular skills or knowledge. We will let you know when these are available to access. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.
HRSA FOOD BANK
The new system of prepacked bags, continues to work well.
Thank you to all those parents/cares who paid £2.00 (per bag) towards the use of our food bank, it is much appreciated and will help us to run it in the future.
NEARLY NEW UNIFORM
We have lots of ‘nearly new uniform’ at a discounted price of £2.00 per item to support our families and the environment. These include: trousers, skirts, dresses, polo shirts, jumpers, cardigans, tights, socks and shoes. Please let the school office know if you would like to purchase any. If your child needs a spare jumper or pair of trousers, this would be a more cost effective way instead of buying new. A huge THANK YOU to those families who have already made donations, we really appreciate it and so do the families! As the saying goes, ‘Every Little Helps!’ THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Thank you, as always, for your fantastic support!
God bless
