Health Resources in Action, Inc. (HRiA), a nonprofit public health and medical research funding organization based in Boston, Massachusetts has a mission to help people live healthier lives and build healthier communities through prevention, health promotion, policy, and research. HRiA works with a diverse group of clients across the country to address some of the most critical public health issues using innovative and evidence-based approaches to improve population health. Our clients/funders include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, state and local public health departments, hospitals, and private/corporate philanthropic entities. New England Asthma Innovation Collaboration: A multi-million dollar New England-wide initiative funded through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation will improve asthma outcomes, quality of care, and health care costs of Medicaid- and CHIP-enrolled children by advancing innovative service delivery and sustainable payment systems
Community Health Training Institute: An online resource funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health that provides skill building trainings/webinars, tools, and resources to public health practitioners and advocates to improve community health Community Health Improvement: A national effort to engage hospitals, health
departments, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), United Ways, and foundations to conduct comprehensive community health assessments and health improvement plans to prioritize health issues, align collaborative implementation efforts, inform resource allocations, and meet regulatory requirements
The Web Development Manager is an essential part of Health Resources in Action’s (HRiA) Development and Marketing team. S/he will be the sole technical person leading the
enhancements and implementation of HRiA’s online presence. This includes the development and maintenance of HRiA’s digital properties, as well as overseeing the creation of digital projects for clients.
The position is ideal for a self-starter who has strong technical skills and a creative mindset.
The Web Development Manager’s responsibilities are shared between internal and external facing functions, including:
Providing technical oversight of HRiA’s organizational digital properties, including managing partners and vendors, and monitoring analytics; Leading digital strategy and web development efforts on specific client
The Web Development Manager leads the functional and technical design,
development and testing for the Health Resources in Action website, as well as creates new digital features to highlight the organization’s work. The position applies similar technical expertise and creativity to deliver high quality products to our Health Communication Services clients. This is an exempt, full-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain web-based solutions (including websites, applications, and analytics) that support HRiA’s marketing and communication efforts
Manage digital strategy for HRiA’s Health Communication Services client projects, including web development, budgets, timeline, and vendors;

This role requires 4 to 5 years of experience managing web-based applications and properties. The ideal candidate will also be extremely organized, a strong communicator, and possess a desire for innovation that can drive HRiA’s marketing and Health
Communication Services work. Other qualifications include: Required
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Experience working with content management systems (Wordpress, CMS Made
Simple, Drupal and others).
Thorough knowledge of web platforms such as Go-to Meeting, Adobe Connect,
Podio, Emailmeform and Constant Contact.
Analytical capabilities to measure performance and produce quality data points for the organization.
Ability to manage multiple projects (working both independently and cross-departmentally), problem solve, and to be solution-oriented.
Possess a healthy sense of humor and a customer service attitude. Preferred
Desire to provide thought leadership around innovative digital strategy solutions for HRiA and its clients – to identify new opportunities and make them happen.
Interest in social sector, public health and/or health communications. Familiarity with Salesforce
