The Power of Homeopathy in Animal Diseases

Homeopathy a medicine (remedy) is selected which would pro-duce in a healthy body the same symptoms found in the sick animal (“like cures like”). This substance is selected from herbs, minerals, and natural compounds which are then diluted beyond the point of possible toxicity. This review article explains that Ho-meopathy Treat met is best treatment in animals also.

Homeopathy has been found one of the best holistic and safest treatments for many people. This has been found true for animals and plants as well. Veterinary homeopathy is a safe, effective and powerful form of medicine. Most veterinarians choose homeopathy due to the chronic and recurring nature of many ailments in animals. The idea behind using Homeopathy is to strengthen the immunity of the animals and treat the disease from the roots.

According the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy, any problem that can be treated conventionally can be solved with homeopathy and that too without any side effects. Recurrence rates are also almost minimum or negligible with Homeopathy. Examples of diseases in animals that respond very well to Homeopathy are: skin allergies, ear infections, asthma, IBD, epilepsy and many other conditions. Homeopathy can rapidly treat acute diseases like traumatic injuries, infections and poisonings, allergies to arthritis, and from skin diseases to Spondylitis etc…

Apis: For bee and insect bites.

Arnica: For general pain, stiffness due to overexertion, soreness and musculoskeletal injuries.

Ars. Alb: For GI upsets from eating spoiled food where there is both vomiting and diarrhoea.

Agaricus: For symptoms associated with frostbite, chilblains, and poisonings. Gangrene from freezing of tissues.

Allium cepa: Coryza and hay fever

Tart: For respiratory conditions like Pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough with thick white mucous, difficulty breathing, and deep cough.

Baptisia: For influenzas that cause a profound prostration, weakness of the neck so head cannot be held in position, and with the inability to swallow food, only water.

Belladonna: Sudden and high fever, redness, pain, dilated pupils and panting.

Borax: For fear of thunderstorms and fireworks

Bryonia: Colic, all symptoms worse with motion and better by resting or staying perfectly still, thirst for large amounts of water, vomiting bile after eating, constipation.

Cal.Carb: For old injuries after giving Rhus-tox for some time. A muscle tonic. Aids the body in utilizing Calcium and making it more bio-available. Get more information on Calcarea Carbonica

Calendula: Can be used both internally as well as externally for skin infections or any kind of external infection.

Chamomilla: Teething, irritability, colic, wants to be carried, capricious.

Hepar sulphur: Wonderful to treat abscesses anywhere on the body

Hypericum: Remedy to give for any pain due to nerve damage or injuries to nerve-rich areas.

MAG-PHOS (6 x Tissue Salt): Cramping colicky pains, better bending double/curled foetal position and better warm applications flatulent colic, cramps. Combine: Nux-vom & Mag-phos when you can see constipation, swollen abdomen and gassy – lots of cramping.

Myristica: For anal sac infections and chronic anal sac problems.

Nux-Vomica: Colic, constipation with urging, sinus infections, cramping, looks bloated, digestive remedy patient is chilly, from over-eating or eating of ‘bad’ food.

Pulsatilla: Colic, ear infections, yellow discharges.

(3)

Ruta: For any injury to tendons or ligaments and this remedy has a real affinity for the knee joint.

Sepia: Chronic cystitis, female uterine problems, mood swings due to hormone imbalances. Also given to mothers that reject their young.

Silicea: Expells foreign bodies like splinters or foxtails out of the skin.

Symphytum – for bone breaks.

Ledum For any type of puncture wound, including those from insect bites.

Caulophyllum: Remedy for labour pains without progress, profuse haemorrhage after delivery.

Apart from these there are even more remedies used in various conditions and they can be

dispensed in the same way as in humans. Please note that medicines should not be mixed in their foods; they have to be directly put in their mouth.

Homeopathy for animals gives excellent results in animal ailments especially dogs, cats and even cattle. Saving animals from the hazardous side effects of conventional medicines and giving them a healthier life, Veterinary Homeopathy is surely a great act of kindness that we can offer as homeopaths.

Reviews:

Nihat ÖZYURTLU and Erol ALAÇAM (2005) supported that the homeopathic Thuja D30 may be used effectively and safely as an alternative to common pharmacological agents in pseudopregnant bitches.

Jagdish Prasad Varshney (2006) explained that the Thelitis is an inflammation of the teat usually associated with traumatic injury. Three cases of acute thelitis were treated with Arnica 30C, followed by Bryonia30C along with topical application of Bryonia cream. The recovery was uneventful within 3 - 4 days.

Chandel B S et al.(2009) studied that the therefore 361 animals out of 495 were treated with Tetasule@ a homeopathic medicine along with higher antibiotics as routine and rest 134 animals were considered as control but treated only with antibiotics. Out of 361 treated cases of clinical mastitis 345 (95.56%) cases recovered completely. All the animals in this treated group provided more than 90 % recovery rate. Maximum recovery was recorded in the cases having watery milk and mostly one or two quarters were affected followed by oedematous and non fibrosed, bloody milk and lastly fibrosed.

A Shakoor (2012) reported that the Thuja-occidentalis a homeopathic drug may be considered as alternative of surgical intervention in case of warts having resemblance of cauliflower in cattle.

Jelena Šuran and Magda Sindičić (2012) find that the effectiveness is contradictory, which

can be explained by being a consequence of different research methodologies. However, there is a significant inverse proportionality between the quality of research and results that approve of the use of homeopathy.

Balakrishna Rao Dabbir (2017) suggested that the Homoeopathy is very effective in preventing the anthrax in sheep and goats at a very cheap price and is very safe and has a rapid response.

Conclusions

The pharmacological basis of therapeutics is, in virtually every respect, the opposite of homeopathy. In the great majority of cases it is based on increased effect provided by increased dose or concentration up to a ceiling, the maximum attainable response. Doses are determined by the application of data on each drug’s pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties, established on a species basis. Additionally, increasingly recognised is the need sometimes to adapt dose not only for bodyweight but also for disease severity, condition of animal, as well as age and breed

differences in pharmacodynamics and

pharmacokinetics. Drug-based therapeutics
