A position reflects the specific set of tasks that an employee is expected to perform. NOTE: An employee reported as a retained job in a prior year's report cannot be counted again as a retained job in a future year's report.

A company includes all the establishments that operate under ownership or control of a single organization, including all subsidiary organizations. Even though some of your revenue generating activities may occur outside of Pennsylvania, please report the revenue that is attributed to your Pennsylvania operations. Licensed technologies – Identify whether or not grantee has licensed any technologies having a direct correlation to the target industries of the Keystone Innovation Zone.

Licensing revenues are gross revenues generated by licensing activities, including royalty payments, fees and realized capital gains from the sale of equity.

Development and Introduction of New Products

A new product is a good/service that has never been available to your customers or a product that has been modified or a product line extension or a "new-to-the-world" product.

Expanded Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E)

Intellectual Property and Licensing

Patents (provisional/non-provisional) -- Identify whether or not, as a result of the Keystone Innovation Zone funding, grantee has filed for or has been awarded any patents (provisional/non-provisional).

Intellectual Property - Any licensable intellectual property developed as a result of Keystone Innovation Zone funding.

Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) expenditures include monies spent on labor, services, materials and equipment used to conduct research, development, testing and evaluation as recognized by your company, regardless of where the RDT&E was physically undertaken. RDT&E excludes in-kind contributions provided by your company and/or third-parties.

New Company Formation

An industry or university spin-off is a newly formed company that is expected to derive a significant portion of its commercial activities from the use of technology and/or know-how developed at another company or university at the time of its establishment.
