Chapter 1: Choose A Topic
So you're an Avon rep? That's great! So now you have to think rather you want to create a website based on selling or recruiting.
You can go back and create both because the host we will be using allows you to set up multiple websites for no extra charge.
So decide, which one do you want to create and focus on right now.
Selling
Selling is a crucial part in your Avon business. Without sales you can not make “right now” money or train your team to sell.
“Right Now” money is when you can profit right away easily.
Selling also leads to more recruits. If you're trying to recruit more reps they'll be more likely to join your team if they see you are making money selling the products.
If you've been with Avon for a while and you have a lot of offline customers, creating a website can bring in more online customers.
Recruiting
You may be a more seasoned rep and have plenty of customers and sales and just want to focus more on recruiting.
Creating a website is a great way to attract leads and recruits online.
If you're looking to grow your team or train your team, a website is a great way to leverage you time.
Take Action: ☐ Decide rather you want to create a website about selling or recruiting and move on to chapter two.
Chapter 2: Register Your Domain
Now that you know your topic. We are going to register your domain name. A domain name is the name you type into the internet browser to go to a website. For example: “Google.com” is a domain name.
The first thing is coming up with a domain name that is relevant to the topic you've chosen.
If your website is about recruiting and you'll be sharing tips about network marketing, Avon training, ect., then you're going to need a domain name that fits. If your website is about selling, you'll be talking about products such as makeup, skincare, and fashion.
Common words that can be used in your domain name are: beauty, makeup, workwith, tips, training, ect.
For example: I'm working on a new website for selling at it will be called www.getbeautyonline.com
And of course my training website is called “Sweetnibbles.com” but the website was rebranded. It was going to be for both selling and recruiting. Now it's for training and recruiting.
You can try an name that's funny like Sweetnibblets or something more professional. But either way, make sure it's memorable.
The 4 Rules For Domain Names: 1. Easy to remember
2. Short
3. No dashes (-) 4. Should be a .com
If you follow the 4 rules you should be fine. Now it's time to register your domain.
Registering Your Domain
First you want to check and see if the domain name you originally wanted is available. Find out by typing your potential domain name you came up with in the Godaddy search bar.
If it's not available Godaddy will either give you some different options or allow you to buy it at a different price.
Your best bet here is to come up with another decent name and try to search again.
Once you've found a domain name that's available, don't buy it just yet.
We are going to be registering our domain name at Godaddy.com, but first we want to get the cheapest deal possible.
Hey, I'm just tryna save you some $$$
Search in Google for “godaddy promo codes” and find the leas expensive deal you can.
There's usually an ad at the top of Google where you can register a domain name for only $0.99 a year. But the catch is you have to purchase a second year along with it, but it's still a good deal.
Once you click on the ad in Godaddy and go on to the Godaddy website, pay for your domain name. The longer you have to domain name for, the better in the eyes of Google.
Take action: ☐ Register Your Domain Name then move on to chapter three.
Chapter 3: Get Hosting & Set Up Wordpress
Now that we've registered your domain, it's time to buy hosting.Hosting is something that is used to buy “space” on the internet to run your website.
I strongly recommend Bluehost because it's a very trustworthy company with outstanding customers service, low prices, and easy to download wordpress. Start off by purchasing a hostess package that is right for you. Go with what you can afford. It's easier to get hosting for a few years so you won't have to worry about renewing it.
Search Google again for promo codes and specials you can use to lower the price. Once you pick the hostess package you want and you're logged in, its time to set up wordpress.
Click on the home button at the top right corner, then under website click on install wordpress.
You will then be redirected to a site called Mojo Marketplace. Next, click on install wordpress.
Before we continue with this process we need to redirect the name servers from your godaddy site so that they point to bluehost.
Log back into your Godaddy account and click on the launch button next to where it says domains.
Click on your domain name and you'll be taken to the domain name details page. Where it says nameservers click on “manage”. In the nameserver settigns click on custom and enter the nameservers:
ns1.BlueHost.com ns2.BlueHost.com
Click save. It may take a while for your domain name to point to bluehost, you'll know when it's done when you visit your domain name and there's a bluehost banner.
Once that's done you can go back into your bluehost dashboard and into your Mojo Marketplace account and select your domain name.
domain name is pointing to the bluehost servers.
Once it's ready it will prompt you to install wordpress. Click on install and you're pretty much done.
Mojo Marketplace will provide you with a Wordpress login. Use this login whenever you want to log into your site.
You never really have to log back into Bluehost except to check on things in the backend.
Take Action:
☐
Set up your wordpress site through Bluehost and
begin blogging. Now move on to Chapter 4.
Chapter 4: Begin Blogging
I'm going to give you an introduction into internet marketing. Keep in mind that this is a whole new skill to learn and has a long learning curve.
What To Blog About (Selling)

How To Blog
Go into Wordpress and on the left side of the dashboard you'll see where it's says “posts”. When you hover over it, click on “add new.” Then you just begin typing. It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.
How To Install Pluggins
Pluggins are pieces of software that you can embed in your site that allows it to have different features.
If you want you site to do something, go to the side of your dashboard where it says “pluggins” and hover over it, then click on add new. After that search for what you're looking for and and click on “install now”.
After that click on “activate pluggin” and then you're good to go. Each pluggin has it's own site that will give you more detail on how to use it.
Creating A Blogging Schedule
The thing with blogging is you have to be consistent in order for the search engines to pick you up and get found.
Make sure you blog at least once a week.
If you're blogging to sell make sure you're up to date with your brochures on your websites each campaign.
Once a week is great, but you can even do 3-5 times a week. It depends on how much promotion and sales you want for your
business.
Set and stick to a schedule and routine that's right for you. Put it in your planner and stick to it.
Chapter 5: Getting Traffic & Tracking
Having a site is great. But to make a long story short... you need traffic in order to make money.
Social Media
Here are the top social media sites that will draw traffic to your websites: Facebook Pinterest Instagram Twitter Youtube
Those are the top 5 but there are many, many more. Make sure when you have a new blog post on your site that you share it on social media to get more exposure.
Forums
Forums is another way to get traffic. Search for forums in Google relevant to your website topic and participate in them.
If you start helping people out there they will want to check out your website.
Yahoo Answers
This is a great way to win trust and put a link back to your website. Search and ask for relevant questions people are asking and answer them.
Provide a link back to your site.
Go to other blogs similar to yours and leave a valuable comment. Put a link back to your website.
Tracking
Download the statcounter pluggin on your wordpress site and sign up for a statcounter account.
Then you'll be able to see where your traffic is coming from and from where.
Also verify your site in Google Webmaster tools. They have some advance tracking there and it's worth taking a look at.
Take Action: Set up social media and link back to your website
☐
and track your performance using statcounter.
Chapter 6: Monetizing Your Blog
This is the fun part. Once you've built up traffic of at least 25 unique visitors a month you can start monetizing your blog.
Links Back To YourAvon.com Store
If you do a product review or are referring to a sale happening with Avon make sure to link back to youravon.com store from your blog so your customers can shop.
Ads
You can sign up for contextual advertisers like Google Adsense or Infolinks and get paid every time someone clicks on an ad.
But it's important that you first have visitors before using ads on your site.
Links Back To Startavon.com
If you're website is about recruiting give prospects an opportunity to join your team buy putting links back to the startavon.com site with your reference code.
Affiliate Marketing
This is a more advanced strategy but it's a way to earn extra money outside of Avon.
If you are promoting a product from a company that has an affiliate program you can make commission off that product.

Chapter 1:
How To Get Leads
Make Some Phone Calls
When your first starting out the first thing you want to do is start your customer search-- forget about recruiting for now.
I say this because you can't possibly teach someone to sell if you haven't sold anything.
The first thing you need to do is go through your cell phone. Call everyone that you think will be interested in purchasing from you and say this:
“Hi ____ , how are you? I was calling because I just started an AVON business and was wondering if it would be okay to give you a book?”
And they will say yes.
Using this approach is golden because you're not coming off as pushy and you 're simply asking to give them a book. You're not asking for them to buy
anything-- you simply want to share a brochure with them.
After they say yes, get out a notebook and write down their name. Make plans with them of when you can get a book to them.
If you send your books out through a service such as campaign mailer then ask them for their home address.

About The Author
My name is Argena Olivis and I'm an independent sales representative with AVON products.
I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I'm 24 years old-- I'm the second oldest in a family of 5 children.
I started selling AVON in January of 2013 because I heard of the
possibility of making residual income. My mom used to sell it, so I knew it was easy to sell. And also it's been around for so long that everyone knows what it is!
One day I was at my day job in a grocery store and a lady approached me and asked me “Do you like AVON”... and that was a sign from God because I had been researching it online.
Before starting with AVON I went to college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned my Bachelors degree in Biology. This is where I met my soon to be husband Tom.
In college I was looking for a way to make money from my dorm and I got into website creation.
I was building a website and learning about passive and residual
income. The residual income opportunity is what most attracted me to AVON.
I was already reading tons of business and finance books and learning about passive income. Then when I joined AVON I continued my
studies with work from home books, sales books, and network marketing books.
I started to do tons of research on AVON and the company. I started learning from the top leaders. I was on conference calls, and I never missed a district meeting.
I fell in love with AVON and worked consistently to grow my customer base. I took tips from some of the mentors I had from my district meetings and took action. Because of taking action and being consistent. I made presidents club in my first year with the sales of over $10,500!
