1. Can the documents be transferred to eDOCS RM as a record
if this is required?
Yes, at the time the document is saved to eDOCS it will use the profile form you have specified. If that form contains records information, then you may include that.
2. Can you use a "hybrid" approach to OpenText Secure MFT-
Cloud for the UK office and on-prem for U.S. locations and
have administration sync between the two if desired or
necessary?
It is not currently an option to synchronize the administration between on-prem and OpenText Secure Cloud servers.
3. Are audit trail reports available from a central location and not
in individual email accounts?
In addition to the notification emails that the system sends to the sender announcing various send and receives events pertaining to a particular transaction, Secure MFT also provides a web administration console, in which administrators can access the audit log.
4. What type of audit reports are available?
Secure MFT records all system, user, and file-related activities in the audit log. Administrators can easily filter the log by user, transaction, or file.
5. Can a canary in a coal mine alert be setup so that an email
alert goes to an administrator if a large volume of files over "X"
is transferred?
Not from Secure MFT, but there are other options to monitor the eDOCS DM repository and send an alert. Guardian for eDOCS will accomplish this from Wertheim Global Solutions.
6. Can you please explain the authentication process when it
comes to our clients approving access for their recipients
being able to download the secure files? How are those
external recipients able to manage and download the files?

Secure MFT relies on OpenText Directory Services to handle authentication, and it can be configured to simultaneously support internal user authentication against the enterprise directory service, such as Active Directory, and external user authentication against the OTDS user database, which is separately maintained. External users can be invited to the Secure MFT service and validated by administrators before they are allowed to use the service, and their user accounts are stored in the OTDS user database, separated from the internal directory service. Recipients receive emails from Secure MFT with links pointing to files that are stored in the Secure MFT server. Secure MFT supports both anonymous and secured download, depending on the configuration of the Server, and user’s preferences. If the secured download option is enforced, all recipients are required to register and authenticate before they can download files.
