An examination of persuasion in communication contexts. Dominant persuasive theories and subsequent research are critically analyzed to understand attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors in social communication.
• Spring 2021-Designed and taught a new course experience with a focus on students becoming subject-matter experts for specific persuasive theories. Students integrated their assigned theory into a variety of course assessments, eventually summarizing their findings in a portfolio tailored to a future career.
COMM 104: Public Communication (Primary Instructor, Spring 2021, Fall 2020)
Instruction on how public communication is created, received, and critically analyzed. Emphasizes rhetorical communication, speech development, critical thinking, audience analysis, and ethical communication practices.

Responsibilities: Strategize, research, design, and facilitate training programs for 124
bank branches throughout Utah and Idaho.
Notable Accomplishments:
• Redesigned onboarding and training program for front-line employees and new managers, resulting in 30% boost in production efficiency.
• Redesigned 12 Retail Training programs to include effective pedagogical methods to increase learning transfer and learner satisfaction (70% increase). Virtual pedagogical methods later implemented in the Bancorporation.
• Managed team efforts to design a robust product training program (156 learning activities), initiating an autonomous learning culture.

centers throughout North America (PA, UT, FL, BC, ON).
Notable Accomplishments:
• Lead design and delivery efforts to research and create a Contact Center New Hire Training program with 165 learning activities for 22 roles.
• Researched for, designed, and facilitated programs for the company’s new online lending business (50 million in assets, 2019).
• Lead training strategy for a large contact center consolidation, including the transition of 9 major Canadian job functions. Collaborated with leadership to open a new contact center in Malvern, PA.
• Designed and facilitated 15 new training programs, taught 27 new hire classes (2-5 weeks in length, 120+ learners), and partnered with HR to improve employees’ socialization and onboarding experience.
