Route 66 is the "Mainstreet of America". It is 2400 miles long from Chicago to Los Angeles, crosses three time zones and 8 States: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Route 66 has been the path of migrants, dreamers, desperadoes and an entire generation of travellers discovering the way west. The 1950's were the Route 66 glory days, when thousands of cars rode bumper to bumper behind each other to experience the Western frontier. Hotels, motels, gas stations, classic restaurants, and the "New" America sprang up everywhere. Much of Route 66's classic roads, restaurants, gas stations, and landmarks are preserved just as they were in the 1950’s.

Getting the most out of a motorcycle Holiday in the USA & Canada
There are a choice of tours that offer riders the opportunity to travel along
Route 66 plus additional tours through the spectacular national Parks of
America including Yellowstone National Park, the Canadian Rockies or Mexico.
No need to change planes on your journey to the United States as all of the
motorbike tours start and end in Los Angeles or Seattle with the exception of
Route 66 which starts in Chicago and ends in Los Angeles.
You can be sure of a great time as an experienced guide familiar with the routes
accompany the group throughout. They work part time so do not get tired of any
repetition and enjoy the tour as much as the guests – Groups are no bigger than
20 clients
No need to worry about carrying your own luggage or too much money as
a support vehicle accompanies the group carrying a spare motorbike and all your
belongings, plus vouchers can be pre-paid for fuel ( the guide takes care of
payments at the gas stations which take the hassle out of re-fuelling).
To hire a motorbike, you must be over 21 and have a motorbike licence. You have to take your own helmet and protective leather gear (the latter is advisable). From a bikers point of view, if you like to “play” on the bikes then the long straight roads of the Canadian Rockies and on Route 66 can be a bit repetitive! The first 3 California trips featured are the most popular hence a lot more dates to choose from. Category 1 bikes are really suitable for ladies or those that have not had a licence very long.
