In Santa Clara, CA, Terremark Expands December 2nd, 2011 By: THN News

(The Hosting News) – Work on an expansion at Terremark’s Santa Clara, California data center campus has finished, the company recently announced.
Called NAP West, the site offers 100 thousand square feet of space, which the company expects to use for cloud computing solutions and IT infrastructure.
Terremark Senior VP of data center operations Hector Hernandez discussed the site’s reliability in a company press release, stating, “We designed and built NAP West to meet our high security standards with added redundancy to maintain our customer’s mission-critical applications around the clock.”

Commenting on the matter, Terremark President Kerry Bailey stated, “As a major interconnection point for the world and of the technology industry, the Silicon Valley area has long been a location of strategic importance for Terremark.” “Through the expansion of the NAP West, we continue to invest in the strategic global hubs that support the
requirements of our expanding global customer base,” Bailey continued.
In September, the company opened another NAP (Network Access Point) data center in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Specifically, the new facility features security solutions, the company’s Enterprise Cloud, and more.
Terremark has data centers worldwide in locations such as North and South America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and more. Wireless provider Verizon bought the company earlier this year for a reported price of $1.4 billion dollars.
