What is the Energy Saver Program?

The Energy Saver program delivered by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH)

has helped thousands of businesses across New South Wales gain a competitive advantage

through reduced energy consumption, improved productivity, and lower operating costs.

We offer NSW businesses comprehensive training programs, accessible tools and resources,

subsidised technical investigations, as well as project, financial and technical support.

Since 2009, OEH has trained more than 14,000 business professionals

from some of Australia’s most successful companies. Our courses are

designed to give NSW businesses a competitive advantage by

increasing energy efficiency and energy productivity.

Attendees gain the skills, knowledge and insights to implement effective

energy management and best practices in their own workplace.

All training courses are practical, collaborative and ‘hands-on’, with

a clear focus on increasing energy efficiency and reducing cost.

Unique to Energy Saver training courses is our free

post-training support. Examples of this one-on-one

guidance include:

Assistance with reviewing and evaluating quotes

Help with accessing the Energy Savings Scheme.

Post-training support is valued at approximately $3000.

Custom training

We also offer customised in-house training. If you have a

group of 15 or more, we can tailor the training to your needs,

and conduct the workshops at your place of business.

Building the

Business Case

Improve the success-rate of your business case proposals.

In an Australian first, participate in an interactive course that will teach you how to plan, develop and communicate the business case for energy efficiency projects.

• Ensure the project fits in with business objectives.

• Manage project risks.

Energy Management

Basics

A practical and interactive course designed to assist businesses understand their energy use, collect and manage data, and reduce costs through greater efficiency.

Outcomes

• Analyse and understand energy bills and contract negotiation.

• Understand the drivers for energy management and energy efficiency.

• Use tools and create plans for energy management.

• Identify funding opportunities and support programs.

Energy Efficient

Lighting

This training is designed to help you understand current lighting technologies, investigate best-practice lighting solutions and apply them to reduce your site’s energy use and cost.

Outcomes

• Evaluate options for energy efficient lighting upgrades.

• Understand their life-cycle costing for lighting.

• Compare lighting solutions using the Calculight tool.

• Work more effectively with suppliers and evaluate quotes.

Energy Efficient HVAC

for Business

This course provides a structured approach to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) operation and maintenance to help you better understand, identify and implement energy efficient HVAC practices.

Outcomes

• Understand the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems to improve energy efficiency.

• Identify HVAC optimisation and maintenance opportunities.

• Perform cost-benefit analysis of opportunities.

• Understand the features of energy efficient HVAC systems.

Cogeneration

Feasibility

Understand and assess the feasibility of cogeneration and tri-generation. Training consists of an introduction course designed for decision-makers and a technical course for specialists – such as engineers – which focuses on conducting cogeneration pre-feasibility assessments. The courses are designed to guide business decision-makers

to determine if this technology is viable for their business.

Outcomes

• Recognise the key benefits and risks of cogeneration technology.

• Investigate whether

cogeneration is suitable for your site.

• Understand how to select and size cogeneration equipment.

Aged Care

and Registered Clubs

These industry specific training courses address the needs of the clubs and aged care sectors to help you identify ways to minimise costs and enhance productivity through energy efficiency.
