So we made a little tidbit especially for them .This is most of the "assisted opening" chapter. I think this is the best chapter. This is not the finished book. There are many illustrations of the internal parts of pocket knives. Also some discussions from knife makers and designers. The explanation on how a knife mechanism functions will include the mechanical process but also the physics, utility of the design, manufacture, and any BS can be included. It can get technical but I make an effort to lay it all out and repeat descriptions from a different angle if it's a complex mechanism. If you don't like this sample you likely won't like the main book. We plan for the full book in Kindle version will be out hopefully in a few more months. The print version, 272 pages, is available on Amazon. This Kindle sample is only a couple of dozen pages. There are some color photos in it but the paperback book is all black and white. So, I hope you do have some fun with this sample. If you find that this is the type of info you are looking for then you'll probablly like the main book, of the same name."Knife Mechanisms just for the fun of it!" The book is aimed at collectors of pocket knives.It is not a "How to do it book" but for sure it is not just a "coffee table book".

This is exactly what I have been looking for, and anyone who has a interest in knives and knife making will agree It is very detailed , interesting and has a great deal of information. I hope the author goes on to complete the book . It is the type of book that can be read over and over and you will learn something new. From the beginner to the advanced knife aficionado , you will enjoy what you read and the author promises more to come
