S.W.O.T Analysis : some elements
1. Weakness :
– Common weakness: lack of family physicians and
teachers.
– Lack of family medicine program for undergraduate
level.
– Limited institutional budget to create a sustainable development of family medicine (infrastructures, technologies scholarships, staffs, etc).
– Others : Political will, unawareness, dropouts, etc.
2. Opportunities
The sustainable future
• Education (as investment for the future) • The community and health care workers
involved in the planning/awareness
• Ministries and other influential stakeholders involved
• South-South cooperation • Strong network
→The project created relations between the
partners that will be cultivated and may lead to other joint initiatives in future.
To build up a sustainable future
• Explore sustainable financing eg the creation of a supported platform of College of Family Physician in Europe ( under discussion: UK, Denmark)
• Explore links with French speaking countries of Africa (Mali, Benin, Niger and Burundi)
