Computer Technician Certification for
Spanish Speakers
Do you want to start a career in a growing and exciting field? Centro Latino’s Computer Technician Training program will help you to pass the required CompTIA A+ exams and become a successful computer technician professional. You will learn the foundation-level knowledge and skills necessary for a career in PC support, including installation, preventive maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. In addition, you will learn excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients. Lastly, you will receive support to help you find your first IT job and ensure that it is a success.
This program is designed specifically for Spanish speaking adults who are interested in pursuing a career in IT. Our bilingual/bicultural instructors help you gain the tools necessary to succeed in the American workplace.

Introduction to CompTIA A+ certification
To obtain the CompTIA A+ certification you will need to pass two exams, CompTIA A+ Essentials and the CompTIA A+ Practical Application. Each exam is comprised of 100 questions and lasts 90 minutes. The passing score on a scale of 100-900 for the CompTIA A+ Essentials is 675, and for the CompTIA A+ Practical Application it is 700. Both exams are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and many other languages.
CompTIA A+ Essentials Exam Objectives
(2009 Edition) Exam No.: 220-701CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with a recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for technical understanding of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism required of all entry-level IT professionals.

Our Computer Technician Certification can help you obtain employment opportunities in many different areas where computer systems are used. Some of these areas include technical support, data and information management, technical training, and sales of software and hardware.
With A+ certification, you will become qualified for positions such as: field service technician, PC support technician, IT administrator, enterprise technician, computer support specialist, computer trainer, help-desk technician, or technical support specialist. Training Program
Our program offers six months of intensive training, preparation and job search support for your new career. The first four months of the program focus on the technical training and workplace preparation skills. The fifth month concentrates on passing the A+ certification exams and the final month is dedicated to job search, preparation, interviewing and placement.
The program takes an integrated approach by offering technical training in a bilingual format, with terminology in English and explanations in Spanish. In addition, students will be provided additional instruction in English according to their language level. Lastly, students will meet with a Counselor for workshops and individual sessions to prepare for a successful job search and experience in the first IT support job.
Classes will meet Monday through Thursday at Centro Latino’s Chelsea site from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for a total of 24 weeks of preparation for a new Computer Technician Career.
In order to succeed in our program and become a successful computer technician professional, you will need to dedicate and commit at least 30 hours a week for training, instruction, and work outside the classroom. Remember, this is an investment of time, money, and dedication. Hard work is the key to achieving a career in IT!

Application Process
If you would like to apply to be part of this exciting program, complete the attached application and submit it with a $100 deposit. Thanks to the generous support of the Smith Family Foundation, the program fee for this first year is just $600, which includes training, class materials, lab fees, test preparation and test fee, job placement and support your new career.
Requirements
Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be considered for the A+ Certification training:
Experience with basic computer applications and the internet. High School Diploma or GED.
Fluent Spanish, at least and Intermediate level of spoken and written English.
Authorization to work in the U.S.
High level of motivation to start a new career in IT!
