Opportunities
Dear Friend:
On behalf of the Mississippi Bankers Association, I invite you to maximize your relationship with Mississippi banks by becoming an MBA Affiliate! The Affiliates program offers participants the opportunity to promote their businesses through the Mississippi Bankers Association and to be recognized for their support of our state’s banking industry.
The Affiliates program offers increased value in a number of ways. A major benefit is the annual publication of the MBA Affiliates Business Reference Guide, which is delivered to bankers and distributed at MBA events. The Guide exists solely to promote Affiliate businesses and provides detailed information on our Affiliates’ products and services.
The MBA also promotes Affiliate businesses by including detailed Affiliate company listings in the Mississippi Bank Directory. Our listing of Affiliates on the MBA website (www.msbankers.com) includes company descriptions, logos, contact
information, and links to company websites. To further assist Affiliates in contacting bankers, all Affiliates receive a complete set of MBA Member Bank CEO mailing labels.
Additionally, Affiliates receive a 15% discount on all advertising in The Mississippi Banker magazine, and Affiliates are exclusively eligible to advertise in the Mississippi Bank Directory!
We strive to keep our Affiliate members informed on Mississippi banking issues by providing each Affiliate with two complimentary subscriptions to The Mississippi Banker magazine and two complimentary copies of the Mississippi Bank Directory.
Perhaps the greatest Affiliate benefit of all is the Member Pricing each Affiliate receives at MBA Functions throughout the year-which includes a $200 discount on each exhibit booth at the Annual MBA Trade Show!
We are now allowing for MBA Affiliates and MBA Member Banks to make Editorial Submissions for The Mississippi Banker Magazine. Information on our submission policy is included in this packet, and articles are chosen at the discretion of our MBA Magazine Editor.
We also strive to use speakers from MBA Affiliate companies for our seminars and workshops throughout the year. We encourage all Affiliate applicants to complete the “Speaking Opportunities” form in this membership packet, so we can contact your group for possible speaking engagements.

Business Reference Guide
a publication of the Mississippi Bankers Association
What is it?
The MBA Affiliates Business Reference Guide is a separate publication from the Mississippi Bank Directory. The sole purpose of the Business Reference Guide is to promote all MBA
Affiliates and the services they offer. This guide is designed to be a reference for bankers seeking products and services or professional assistance.
What information will be listed in it?
The Business Reference Guide will include the following information on all MBA Affiliates: company name, company website, company description, company logo, and salesperson contact information (address, phone, fax, and e-mail).
Who will see this book?
The Business Reference Guide will be distributed at MBA seminars, workshops, and meetings throughout the year. Three copies of the Business Reference Guide will be mailed directly to each MBA member bank CEO, and additional copies will be provided to bankers upon request.
How will the book be produced?
The Business Reference Guide is published annually. Each company’s listing information comes from the MBA Affiliate Information Form included in this packet. Company logo and 50-word description should also be received by the deadline date to ensure inclusion in the

Speaking Opportunities

MBA Affiliates are encouraged to inform the MBA Office on speaking topics their group is prepared to cover. The MBA Programs Manager will keep these forms on file and will refer to them when planning upcoming meetings and seminars.
It is the goal of the MBA to only use speakers employed with MBA Affiliate companies for seminars and workshops. Please note: MBA Affiliate membership does not guarantee your group will be assigned a speaking engagement at an MBA event, but it does make your group eligible for a speaking engagement.

Editorial Submissions

The Mississippi Banker Magazine staff welcomes editorial submissions from MBA Affiliate members and MBA Bank Members. Please keep the following guidelines in mind when preparing articles for publication:
-Articles should directly pertain to the banking industry. -Articles should be 500-800 words.
-Articles should not be written as advertisements.
-Author’s photo and contact information should be included for publication.
-Articles will be chosen, edited, and published at the discretion of the Mississippi Bankers Association editor and publisher.

Membership Contract for New MBA Affiliates
The person, firm, or company making application must have a servicing, supporting or other functional relationship with commercial banks and/or savings institutions, such as equipment firms, accounting firms, law firms, consulting firms, advertising agencies, printers, credit life insurance companies, stock and bond brokerage firms, out-of-state financial institutions or other firms or companies. Applications must submit the name of a Mississippi banker as a reference and must be approved by the Association.
MBA Affiliates have no right or interest in any income or assets of the Association, and must comply with rules adopted by the Association’s Board of Directors. The annual fee for MBA Affiliates is set by the Association’s Board of Directors. This fee is not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes, but may be deductible as a business expense.
Application is hereby submitted to become an MBA Affiliate of the Mississippi Bankers Association. It is understood that approval of this application entitles the person or firm to be placed on the MBA Affiliate mailing list; to attend designated MBA events and the annual convention for the MBA member fee; to receive (two) one-year subscriptions to
