At Open Day we’ll reveal what living on campus is going to look like in our new $26.2 million Student Accommodation Village. We’ll be showing off a sample bedroom from the Halls of Residence, and you’ll be able to check out the options available.

It’s a chance to be part of Albany’s history – being one of the first to sleep in the Halls, or taking up a room in the five-bedroom or studio apartments. You’ll need to make your mind up quick – this is going to be THE place to live. The new village will open in February 2015, in time for semester one, with 292 beds on offer.

Located in the heart of the campus, the village is a short walk to the dining hall, the library, the recreation centre and the on-site shops at Student Central. It will also have its own north-facing student lounge – just for residents – complete with games room, a jammin’ music room and a study area (for when you need a quiet space).

In the lounge a large social space equipped with a massive TV is sure to become THE place on campus for watching big sporting (and television) events. This space flows out into a courtyard equipped with barbeques, so you can take advantage of Auckland’s great weather.

The ever-expanding Albany Mall is just over the road from the Albany campus, so you’ll be living close to shops, the movies and possible employment.

HOW TO CHOOSE?

HALLS OF RESIDENCE

There will be 210 beds in the Halls of Residence, spread across three buildings. These rooms are fully furnished and can be fully catered. Dining facilities for residents are provided in nearby Student Central. You can choose how many meals a day you want catered, and the cost for this is adjusted accordingly.

APARTMENTS AND STUDIO UNITS

The remaining 82 beds are situated in three apartment buildings, with 12 studio apartments and 14 five-bedroom apartments. All rooms are fully furnished and residents will cook their own meals. For people wanting to experience life in a flatting situation, the larger apartments have single bedrooms with shared common areas, including a full kitchen, dining area, bathrooms and living area with balcony.
