Spices & Seasonings

Suggestions for

OH! SO GARLIC

· To use as a dip, add 1 level teaspoon Oh! So Garlic to ½ cup mayonnaise and ½ cup sour cream.

· Mix with sour cream to top baked potatoes.

· Oh! So Garlic Alfredo: Sauté 1 tablespoon Oh! So Garlic in ¼ cup butter. Add 2 cups whipping cream and ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese. Simmer approximately 5 minutes. Finish with pepper to taste. Toss with 1 lb. (454 g) cooked pasta and cooked shrimp; serve immediately.

· Creamy Crab Dip: Mix 1 can crab meat, 1 brick (250 g) softened cream cheese, 1 ½ teaspoons Oh! So Garlic,½ cup mayo and ½ cup Parmesan cheese. Mix all ingredients and bake in the oven at 350°F for

25 minutes or heat in the microwave for 4-5 minutes. Serve warm with your favourite crackers.

· Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes: Peel and boil 5 lbs. potatoes until soft. Mash thoroughly with an electric mixer, adding 4 oz. (125 g) cream cheese, ¼ cup butter, 1 tablespoon Oh! So Garlic and ½ cup milk while mixing.

Place in large casserole. Top with additional butter slices if desired and sprinkle paprika over-top.

Cook at 350°F for 30-35 minutes or until heated throughout.

· Use with melted butter for lobster, crab and shrimp.

Suggestions for

OH! SO ONION

· For an Oh! So Oniony Dip, combine 1-2 tablespoons Oh! So Onion with 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup sour cream. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight. Serve with crackers and vegetables.

· Jazz up the flavour of potatoes and vegetables.

· Add 1 tablespoon Oh! So Onion and 1 teaspoon Oh! So Garlic and ½ cup butter to six cups mashed potatoes. Mix well.

· Add 2 tablespoons Oh! So Onion into 1 lb. (454 g) of ground beef, make patties and grill.

· Easy Classic Meatloaf: Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine 1 lb. (454 g) ground beef, ¼ cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons mustard, ½ cup plain bread crumbs, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon Sunset Seasoned Salt and 2 tablespoons Oh! So Onion, form a loaf and then place in baking pan or casserole dish. Bake for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

· Add to any savoury sauce or gravy to enhance the flavour.

· Onion Herb Beef Roast: Preheat oven to 350°F. Rub olive oil on all sides of 3-4 lbs. (1.8 kg) roast. Rub 3-4 tablespoons Oh! So Onion over entire roast. Place roast on rack in a roasting pan, add about a cup of water. Place roast in heated oven and cook 2 ½ to 3 hours or until internal temperature reaches 140°F.

Remove from oven, cover with foil and let sit for 15 minutes before carving into ¼ inch slices. Carrots, onions and potatoes can be added during the last hour of cooking.

SUNSET SEASONED SALT

· Season all meat, poultry, fish, shellfish and vegetables before grilling, roasting or sautéing.

· Wonderful seasoning for stews and soups.

· Use as seasoning in egg salad and potato salad.

· Drizzle pasta with olive oil and season with Sunset Seasoned Salt for a simple pasta side dish.

· Sprinkle on baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, hash browns or any potato side dish for great flavour.

· Slice potatoes and cooking onion. Place on a strip of foil, dot with butter and sprinkle generously with Sunset Seasoned Salt. Fold foil to create pouch, place foil package directly on BBQ grill and cook until tender.

· Garlic Pepper Cheese Fries: Bake 1 lb. (454 g) of your favourite french fries. After fries are done, cluster them together on a baking sheet and sprinkle with Garlic Pepper with a Twist of Lime and top with 1/3 to ½ cup cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese. Continue baking for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.

CHEESY BACON & CHIVE SEASONING MIX

· Blend 1 tablespoon with olive oil and toss over cubed potatoes, bake and enjoy.

· Mix 2 tablespoons with 1 cup Greek yogurt, great with fresh veggies. Add some milk to thin and serve as a salad dressing.

· For a delicious hot dip, mix 2 tablespoons with 1 brick (250 g) softened cream cheese. Add

1/3 cup mayonnaise and ½ cup shredded sharp cheese. Heat in a conventional oven at 350°F for 30 minutes or microwave for 2 minutes. Serve with baguette slices or crackers.

· Make twice baked potatoes by scooping out baked potatoes. Combine 2 tablespoons Cheesy Bacon & Chive Seasoning Mix with ½ cup sour cream, 2 tablespoons butter and potatoes. Mix well and re-stuff potatoes;

bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. (Recipe is for 4 large potatoes).

· Add to your perogy filling or sprinkle on top of cooked perogies. Also delicious mixed into sour cream and served alongside perogies.

ITALIAN RUSTICO SEASONING BLEND

∙ Sprinkle on a caprese salad.

∙ Add to tomato sauce and serve over pasta.

∙ Combine 2 tablespoons with 1 cup sour cream and 1 cup mayonnaise for a delicious veggie dip.

∙ Mix with Greek yogurt to top a baked potato.

∙ Wonderful addition to your favourite lasagna recipe.

∙ Great seasoning for pork meatballs.

∙ Sprinkle on your pizza or add to your pizza sauce.

∙ Whisk 1 tablespoon with 11/33 cup olive oil and ¼ cup balsamic vinegar for a salad dressing

Suggestions for

ASIAGO CHEESE & SPINACH DIP MIX

· Mix 1 package with 1 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup sour cream, blend well and serve with veggie sticks and pita crisps. Great baked potato topper as well.

· Mix 1 package with 1 brick (250 g) warmed or room temperature cream cheese, add 1/3 cup mayonnaise and

½ cup shredded sharp cheese. Heat in a conventional oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or microwave for 2 minutes: serve with baguette slices or crackers.

· Cheesy Potatoes: Combine dip mix with 1/3 cup vegetable oil. Cut 4 medium to large potatoes into wedges/ chunks. Toss with mixture. Bake in roasting pan at 425°F for about 30 minutes or BBQ in a foil pan.

· Create a pasta sauce by combining ½ package mix with 1 cup of whipping cream and ½ cup of white wine, simmer and serve over pasta; add cooked chicken strips for a complete meal.

PEACH & MANGO HABANERO SALSA

· Serve with assorted tortilla chips.

· Stir into meatloaf or burgers before cooking.

· Add a can of drained crushed pineapple for a sweeter salsa.

· Peach & Mango Cheese Nachos: Place a layer of larger restaurant style tortillas chips on an oven-proof serving platter. Sprinkle a generous amount of grated Italian cheese blend over top. Repeat with another layer of chips and cheese. Broil until cheese is melted and chips are crispy (approximately 5 minutes).

Serve with Peach & Mango Habanero Salsa and sour cream.

· Grilled Peach Mango Salsa Chicken: Place 4 boneless chicken breasts in container and pour ½ jar of Peach & Mango Habanero Salsa evenly over it. Let marinate overnight in refrigerator. Grill over medium heat.

∙ Stir into fresh mashed avocado for a “kicky” guacamole.

∙ Perfect for dipping pretzels and pita chips!

· Brush on grilled meats, especially beef, ribs and chicken.

· Outstanding on pineapple wedges. Just brush on lightly and grill on the barbeque.

· Sunset Gourmet Smoky Sweet Chicken Wings: bake chicken wings until almost done, according to package directions or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 160°F. Drain and return to pan.

· Grilled Pork Tenderloin: Mix equal amounts of Sunset Gourmet’s Smoky Sweet Grilling Sauce and Smoky Chipotle Honey Mustard. Brush on pork tenderloin half way through cooking. Grill on upper rack approximately 1 hour.

· Excellent brushed on chicken or fish.

· Bring the flavours of the tropics to your dinner table by grilling shrimp with Caribbean Mango Tequila Sauce.

· Combine with cream cheese, almonds and toasted coconut for the perfect tropical cheeseball.

· Enjoy a new twist to your traditional ham. Brush ½ cup of Caribbean Mango Tequila Sauce over ham 20 minutes before it is completely cooked. When there are 10 minutes remaining, brush another

½ cup of sauce over-top until the sauce caramelizes.

∙ Great for afternoon tea served with Almond Cream Cake.

∙ Make a Tea Pop - Place 2-4 teaspoons of tea in a filter bag, place in a mug and fill with boiling water.

Fill a glass with ice, when tea is steeped pour over the ice until your cup is halfway full. Sweeten if desired.

Fill remaining half cup with sparkling water. Add more ice as needed. This recipe makes 2 Tea Pops.

∙ Let brewed tea cool and use as a marinade for meat, adding your favourite Sunset Gourmet Seasonings.
