PRAYER CYCLE

PRAY PRAY

THE LORD’S SUPPER - Matthew 26:26-29, 1 Cor 11:23-29

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:26-29

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said,

“This is my body, which is foryou. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner

will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself,

then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without

discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 1 Cor 11:23-29

Christ Be Magnified (Cody Carnes)

Verse 1

Were creation suddenly articulate With a thousand tongues to lift one cry Then from north to south and east to west We’d hear Christ be magnified

Verse 2

Were the whole earth echoing His eminence His name would burst from sea and sky From rivers to the mountain tops We’d hear Christ be magnified Chorus 1

O Christ be magnified, let His praise arise Christ be magnified in me

O Christ be magnified, from the altar of my life Christ be magnified in me

Verse 3

When every creature finds its inmost melody And every human heart its native cry O then in one enraptured hymn of praise We’ll sing Christ be magnified

Bridge

I won’t bow to idols, I’ll stand strong and worship

You If it puts me in the fire, I’ll rejoice ‘cause You’re there too I won’t be formed by feelings, I hold fast to what is true

If the cross brings transformation, then I’ll be crucified with You

‘Cause death is just the doorway into resurrection life If I join You in Your sufferings then I’ll join You when You rise And when You return in glory with all the angels and the saints My heart will still be singing, my song will be the same

His Mercy Is More (Shane and Shane)

Chorus Praise the Lord His mercy is more Stronger than darkness New every morn’

Our sins they are many His mercy is more Verse 1

What love could remember No wrongs we have done Omniscient, all-knowing He counts not their sum Thrown into a sea Without bottom or shore Our sins they are many His mercy is more Verse 2

What patience would wait As we constantly roam What Father so tender Is calling us home

He welcomes the weakest The vilest the poor Our sins they are many His mercy is more Verse 3

What riches of kindness He lavished on us

His blood was the payment His life was the cost We stood ‘neath a debt We could never afford And our sins they are many His mercy is more

So much more

Worthy Is the Lamb (Hillsong)

Verse

Thank You for the cross, Lord Thank You for the price You paid Bearing all my sin and shame, in love You came

And gave amazing grace

Thank You for this love, Lord Thank You for the nail pierced hands

Washed me in Your cleansing flow, now all I know Your forgiveness and embrace

Chorus

Worthy is the Lamb, seated on the throne

Crown You now with many crowns You reign victorious High and lifted up, Jesus Son of God

The darling of heaven, crucified

Worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb

Amazing Grace (Hymn)

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost, but now I am found Was blind, but now I see

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares We have already come

‘Twas grace has brought us safe thus far And grace will lead us home

When we’ve been there ten thousand years Bright, shining as the sun

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’ve first begun

Just As I Am (Travis Cottrell)

Verse 1

Just as I am without one plea But that Thy blood was shed for me And that Thou bidst me come to Thee O Lamb of God I come, I come Verse 2

Just as I am and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot

To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot O Lamb of God I come, I come

Chorus 1

I come broken to be mended I come wounded to be healed I come desp’rate to be rescued I come empty to be filled I come guilty to be pardoned by The blood of Christ the Lamb And I’m welcomed with open arms Praise God, just as I am

Verse 3

Just as I am I would be lost

But mercy and grace my freedom bought And now, to glory in Your cross

Oh Lamb of God I come, I come Chorus 2

I come broken to be mended I come wounded to be healed I come desp’rate to be rescued I come empty to be filled I come guilty to be pardoned by The blood of Christ the Lamb And I’m welcomed with open arms Praise God, just as I am

Sunday School Review

Today I learned about ... “Jesus Entering Jerusalem.” Wherever Jesus traveled, a crowd of people followed. Many people had heard of Jesus’ great power from God and the miracles He was able to do. Jesus was with His disciples near Jerusalem. He told two of His disciples to go and get Him a donkey that had never been ridden, and bring it to Him. They found a donkey just as He said, and brought it to Jesus. He started toward Jerusalem riding on the donkey. The word spread quickly that Jesus was coming. The crowds began to grow and lined the road. As Jesus entered they shouted, “Hosanna to our King.” The crowds were waving palm branches they had taken from the trees as Jesus went by. People laid their robes in the road so the donkey would not have to walk on the dirt road. They were all happy. They wanted Jesus to be their king.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR PRESCHOOLER:

1. What did Jesus ride into the city?

2. Who was along the road?

3. What did the people wave in their hands?

4. What did they put on the road?

5. What did the crowd shout?

6. Who is the King?

7. How can we praise God and Jesus?

MAIN TRUTH:

Jesus is the Son of God.

FAMILY TIME:

Begin sharing the story of Easter with this Bible story. Explain that each week you will be sharing in the Bible events leading up to the day when Jesus arose from the dead.

KEY BIBLE VERSE:

“ ... blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” Mark 11 :9
