Malibu’s designers maximized space with features like the standard auxiliary storage

A tubular side intrusion beam fabricated from high-strength
boron steel helps protect passengers during side impacts. It is
diagonally positioned on the front doors.

It helps absorb crash energy in a controlled manner, reducing
the force of an impact before it reaches the passenger
compartment.

The safety cage helps reduce deformation of the frame in
the event of a collision. The cage surrounds the passenger
