It’s time to plan for fall! We understand the importance of planning ahead and organizing the family schedule. With this in mind, we are sending all information needed to register your junior player for the Taconic Sport & Racquet Evolution Kids Tennis (TSR EKT) 2019-2020 season.

TSR Evolution Kids Tennis Program 2019-2020 Highlights:

The TSR EKT Program is designed to follow the “x2 Practice and Play” philosophy developed by Simon Gale, 2014 Youth Tennis Provider of the Year. Players are offered two opportunities per week to be on court, practicing and playing. The twice per week frequency gives players the consistency needed to continually improve.• To follow the “x2 Practice & Play” philosophy, players enrolled in the program are invited to a complimentary “Play Day” every Friday. The Play Day is a free additional playing opportunity. We encourage players to use this time to implement what they’ve learned during their practice session. See attached schedule for Play Day information.
• Players enrolled in the program receive a complimentary Junior Club Membership. This entitles the players to discounted programming, private lesson and court time options. The Junior Membership is in effect while the player is enrolled in the program until classes end in June. • Players enrolled in the program get free indoor walk-on court time. We encourage players to
use this time to play with family and friends.
• Players enrolled in the program are invited to attend two World Tour events*. These are festival-atmosphere themed nights which include a tennis showcase, bouncy houses, crafts tables, and food. These nights are a great method to reward players and offer them a celebration of their hard work and dedication to the sport.
• Players can choose to practice their skills during in-house tournaments*, Court Warrior Team Challenges*, and Interclub Challenges* throughout the season.
• Parents receive updates on progress, engage with tennis professionals and learn valuable information during Parent Weeks and Parent Meetings scheduled throughout the season.
*Events are specific to certain ball colors, additional fees may apply.

A Defined Player Pathway:
The USTA Net Generation and EKT Program offers a developmental pathway in which the game
grows as the player grows. Players use equipment and courts that best fit their playing ability.
With smaller courts, shorter racquets, and lower bouncing balls, youth players will achieve
greater physical activity and feel successful at tennis right from the start. Players progress
through stages starting with Red Ball, to Orange Ball, to Green Ball then to Yellow Ball. Each
progression comes with new challenges and skills.
Safe and Secure Environment:
To ensure a safe and secure environment for kids, the Tennis Professional Staff at TSR have
completed a Safe Play background screening. We are required to adhere to Safe Play policies,
all other USTA policies, and applicable external laws and regulations. Screening consists of three
steps completed after providing personal information and organization details.
Unmatched Expertise:
Simon Gale, the Owner, General Manager and Director of Tennis oversees the entire TSR EKT
Program. Simon is a Net Generation United States National Trainer, has decades of experience
teaching junior players and in 2014 was awarded the Youth Tennis Provider of the Year. Simon
Gale developed the

be on court twice a week. Playing twice a week greatly increases skill development and
increases the long-term dedication to the sport. Simon spends countless hours working with
his team to ensure the on court product is delivered according to his standards.
Community Ties:
Taconic Sport & Racquet is a local business with close ties to our community. We are the sole
tennis provider for the entire Wappingers Central School District as well as the Town of East
Fishkill Recreation Department. TSR is dedicated to growing the sport of tennis within our
community.

2020 FAQ’s
:
What’s new for the 2019-2020 season?1. Due to increased enrollment, in-house make-ups (in another practice session day/time) will not be available. Instead, there will be three designated makeup dates available through the season.
2. The Play Day schedule has been adjusted. Ball colors will no longer be combined during Play Day, each ball color will have a designated hour on court. With this in mind, all Play Days will be scheduled for one hour.
3. At the request of parents, we’ve added new playing options including Court Warrior Team Challenges and Interclub Challenges.
What if we miss a class?
Throughout the season, September to June, three makeup days will be offered. These dates will be made available at the start of the season. Due to increased enrollment, in-house make-ups (in another practice session day/time) will not be available for the 2019-2020 season.
Which ball color is right for my child?
If you don’t recall which ball color your child was assigned at the end of last season, email
[email protected]. If your child is new to the sport, call to set up a free 30-minute hitting session with a pro. The pro will let you know the perfect ball color option.
Can I register after September?
Late registration and rolling enrollment for the program are allowed on an occupancy basis. Late registrations will be prorated.
What if I need to drop-out of the program?
30 days written notice must be given for dropouts. The player is responsible for the classes within the 30 day notice period.
When do classes begin and which dates are off for holidays?
Classes begin the week of Monday, September 9,2019. Off days for holidays are listed on the website.
