. This project used to be a factory complex, located in São Paulo. Between 1977 and 1982, it was converted into a multi-purpose building by Lina Bo Bardi, a collaboration between Italian architects Lina Bo and P.M. Bardi. It now houses one of the units of SESC, a private, non-profit organization which promotes cultural and educational activities all over Brazil. The SESC Pompéia complex became hugely successful, and now contains theatres, gymnasiums, a swimming pool, snack bars, leisure areas, restaurants, galleries, workshops and other kind of services. . . The Copan Building (Edifício Copan) is a 140-metre, 38-storey residential building. Constructed between 1957 and 1966, the concrete structure has an estimated 1160 apartments and 5000 residents. The ground floor is home to 70 businesses and establishments including, but not limited to, a church, a travel agency, a bookstore, and 4 restaurants. Due to the large number of residents, the São Paulo City Hall gave the building its own ZIP code (text from Wikipedia).

. Livraria da Vila in Alameda Lorena is a unique bookstore, designed by Isay Weinfeld. It is located in a refurbished house. The hermetic volume, with a pivoting bookshelf façade, contains an interesting space distributed over three levels. The inclusion of the basement allowed for an entire floor exclusive for children, in addition to a small auditorium to hold courses and lectures. . The Lucas Nogueira Garcez pavilion was originally named the Palácio das Exposições and nicknamed 'Oca' (meaning hut, given its round shape). It harbors both the Museu da Aeronáutica and the Museu do Folclore. It is located in Parque do Ibirapuera, a large green area for leisure, jogging and walking, which has a convention centre as well. . Hotel Unique is an architectural landmark first, a hip venue for beautiful trendies second, while its role as a hotel comes in a third. The greenish, copper-plated half sphere (hence the nickname 'watermelon'), dotted with giant porthole windows is 25 metres high and stands alone in an otherwise low-rise area. . The Museu de Arte de São Paul, or MASP, is an art museum located on Paulista Avenue in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It is well-known for its concrete and glass structure, whose main body is supported by two lateral beams over a 74 metres freestanding space. It is considered one of the landmarks of Brazilian modern architecture. From the site on which the building was raised, it is possible to watch the downtown area and the Cantareira Mountains. Joaquim Eugênio de Lima, who donated the plot of land to the City Hall, tied the donation to a commitment that no building should ever be constructed in that plot that would harm the amplitude of the view. Therefore, the project demanded an underground construction or, otherwise, a sustained one. . "This is the first high school to abandon the shed system and adopt a covered patio. The body of the building integrates the programs of extensions, or additions, a process of growth in popular architecture. The covered patio may later be transformed into an area for parties or sports activities. This school inaugurated a manner of distributing space under one roof covering three blocks: that of classrooms, administration offices and toilets. The open areas arose from the relationship between the three. There is also a panel by Francisco Brennand, a ceramist from Pernanbuco, which reminds of the figure of Jesuit priest Anchieta. The teachers were not too pleased because the Anchieta pictured in the mural is a bit difficult to be assimilated by their culture. But it's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen."
