VEHICLES MUST HAVE A REGISTERED NUMBER PLATE, BE IN GOOD CONDITION AND UNDAMAGED . CARS MUST RESPECT

THE FOLLOWING SIZE CRITERIA: -overall width: less than or equal to 2 .50m;

- width off the outside edge of the tyres: less than or equal to 1 .90m;

-ground clearance: greater than or equal to 0 .10m; -empty weight over 350kg;

-loaded weight below 2 .5t .

CARS TRAVELLING BY THE AUTO/TRAIN ARE RANKED IN 2 CATEGORIES:

STANDARD SIZED VEHICLES (SSV):

covering saloon cars, licence-free cars, sidecars, quad bikes and trikes (up to 1 .55m in height) .

They must meet the following criteria:

IF YOU HAVE A TRAILER: • It must have a tonneau cover .

• Motorbikes or jet-skis are not allowed in trailers . • LSVs cannot be attached to a trailer .

LARGE SIZE VEHICLES (LSV)

These vehicles that are over 1 .55m in height are accepted (except going to and from Briançon) depending on the model . Large size vehicles include, as an example: Crossover, SUV, 4x4, people carriers, limousines, trucks without a tonneau cover .

TWO AND THREE-WHEEL MOTORBIKES

Two and three-wheel motorbikes and scooters (apart from mopeds) are accepted from 49 .6cc if they are no higher than 1 .55m and if their ground clearance is at least 0 .10m . They must respect the same width criteria as cars and have a registered number plate .

Any windscreens over 1 .55m high must be removed by you before the vehicle is loaded on the train . Motorbikes or scooters in cars are not authorised .

• Modified cars or cars with particular characteristics (spoilers, wide tyres…);

OR VISIT www .autotrain .voyages-sncf .com(1) To buy an Auto/Train ticket on the date of departure, after 12 o’clock, you should apply in person at the passenger station of the Auto/Train town of departure (subject to availability) .

INDICATE THE VEHICLE TYPE (car, motorbike, scooter, quad bike or sidecar) . If you buy a ticket for your car, enter the make, model and registration year (you’ll find it on your car documentation) . This will help confirm your car’s approval and the price corresponding to your car’s category (see page 8) . A car that does not comply with its category can only be accepted after further payment, subject to its category and subject to availability .

ENTER YOUR CONTACT DETAILS, preferably with a mobile phone number . We can then let you know if there are any problems (engineering works that may change times, etc .) .

IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING WITH BIKES, A WINDSURF, A CANOE OR A ROOF BOX, you can book a space for it when buying your ticket .

IF YOU ARE CATCHING A FERRY IN MARSEILLE, TOULON OR NICE, we recommend booking a crossing in the early evening .

STEP BY STEP

From buying your Auto/Train ticket to

picking up your car.

AT EACH

DEPARTURE/ARRIVAL

• To find the exact location of your Auto/Train departure station, as well as its opening days and times, take a look at the maps on pages 21 to 47 .

The date and times of acceptance and availability of vehicles are written on your Auto/Train ticket .

FOR REGIONAL AUTO/TRAIN STATIONS,

vehicle deliveries and collections are possible daily, but only during the periods stated on page 17 . No vehicle deliveries or collections may be made outside these periods .

FOR THE PARIS BERCY AUTO/TRAIN STATION,

vehicle deliveries and collections are possible daily during opening hours (see page 21) . Beyond the next day after your arrival, you will be charged a parking fee (see page 17) .

ACCEPTING

YOUR VEHICLE

• At the Auto/Train station, a welcome staff will check your Auto/Train ticket . It will take around 45 minutes for your vehicle to be checked in (depending on how busy the station is) .

• A welcome staff will draw up a statement of vehicle recognition(1) as proof of its condition before loading .

This document will be signed by you and the welcome staff .

• When your car has been accepted, member of the welcome staff will ask you to present your travel tickets, if you are travelling by train to the same destination . For safety reasons, you must:

FOR CARS:

• Close your sunroof, boot, tailgate, doors and windows; • Retract the radio aerial and any aerials for accessories (GPS,

car radio) and remove other valuable items;

• Remove any luggage from the roof-rack and empty your roof box;

• Take down the roof-rack;

• Give your keys and the code to your security device (if you have one) to the welcome staff;

• Give any specific instructions about driving your vehicle . If these conditions are not met, your vehicle may not be accepted .

FOR MOTORBIKES:

• Put your luggage in a top-box that can be locked, if you have one . If you do not, no luggage or helmet attached to your motorbike will be accepted .

• Remove anti-theft devices .

• Remove the windscreen if it is higher than 1 .55m .

KEEP A SPARE SET OF KEYS WITH YOU.

Tell a member of the welcome staff if you would like someone else to pick up your vehicle at its destination . If this is the case, you will have to complete a “vehicle transportation only” form available from the Auto/Train welcome staff .

COLLECTING

YOUR VEHICLE

To find the location of your Auto/Train destination station, take a look at the maps on pages 21 to 47 or simply follow the directions from the passenger train station .

At the Auto/Train station, member of the welcome staff will check your ticket and give you your keys . If another person is picking up your vehicle(1), he will be asked for ID(2) .

FREE SHUTTLE BUSES

The Auto/Train stations at Paris Bercy, Avignon, Fréjus, St-Raphaël and Narbonne are quite far from the passenger train stations . We have a free shuttle bus service synchronized with passenger trains . The times of the Auto/Train shuttles are on pages 21 to 47 .

CHARGING FOR ELECTRIC CARS

Auto/Train Paris Bercy Station has a quick charging station for electric vehicles that meet the CHAdeMO DC standards and AC Standard using the Auto/Train service .

PARKING

AUTO/TRAIN STATIONS OUTSIDE REGION:

23th June to 8th September 2016: Auto/Train stations at

Avignon, Fréjus St-Raphaël, Marseille, Narbonne, Nice and Toulon are open daily .

28th June to 10th September 2016: Lyon Auto/Train station

is open daily .

1st July to 5th September 2016: Auto/Train stations at

Biarritz, Bordeaux, Brive and Toulouse are open daily . You can leave your vehicle free of charge in the Auto/Train station car park the day before its departure or collect it the day after its arrival . Every additional day will be charged at €15 .

NB: Briançon Auto/Train station is open all year round only on service running days at the times stated in the guide.

Outside of this period, the vehicle must be left on the day of its departure and picked up on the day of its arrival . Any vehicle not collected on its arrival day will only be released when the Auto/Train station next opens, on the days and times indicated on pages 21 to 47 . You will be charged an extra fee of €150 .

PARIS-BERCY AUTO/TRAIN STATION:

All year round, you can leave your car free of charge in the Auto/Train car park the day before its departure or collect it the day after its arrival within the opening hours of the Auto/ Train station . Every additional day will be charged at €15 . (see opening timetable on page 21) .

FREE TRANSPORT

OF LARGE LUGGAGE

The Auto/Train will take at no extra cost (maximum of 2 objects): • Bikes attached to bike racks, when the bike rack is fixed to

a tow bar . The overall height must not exceed 1 .55m, nor the width of your vehicle .

Canoes and windsurf boards will be directly attached to the car carriers by our teams .

Roof boxes must either be emptied of their content by the owners so the staff can attach them to the car carriers, or placed inside the vehicle .

LUGGAGE IN YOUR VEHICLE

Your luggage and personal effects in your vehicle remain your liability and the SNCF cannot be held responsible for any damage caused within the limits of its liability .

COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES

Within the limits of its liability, SNCF compensates for material damage directly attributable to the transportation on Auto/Train, excluding any other damage . The normal value of the element damaged is limited at €389 (without exceeding a total of €10,672 per car and €3,812 per motorbike) . The liability of SNCF for loss or damage is governed by articles L .133-1, L-133-3, L .133-4 and L .133-6 of the commercial code . The limitation period is 1 year from the date of actual or scheduled delivery .

EXTRA INSURANCE

For the best possible cover, take out extra insurance for your luggage or your vehicle when you buy your ticket (from most stations and SNCF shops in Paris and in some Auto/Train stations in the rest of France and on the websites www .autotrain .voyages-sncf .com and www .aonassurances .com) or when you drop-off your vehicle in most Auto/Train stations as noted in the guide . SNCF and its partner, AON/HELVETIA, can offer you two levels of warranty:

LUGGAGE CERTIFICATE FOR €10:

• For insured assets of €2,000, with no excess . • In the case of any delay attributable to the SNCF,

damages to the order of €100 with justification of expenses due to lack of luggage for any delay of over 12 hours (except for strike action) .

LUGGAGE CERTIFICATE +VEHICLE FOR €20:

• For insured assets of €2,000 for luggage, with no excess, • For insured assets of €2,000 for the car, with no excess, • In the case of any delay attributable to the SNCF,

damages to the order of €100 with justification of expenses due to lack of luggage for any delay of over 12 hours (except for strike action),

• €100 on presentation of the invoice for the hire of a car in the case of a delay of over 6 hours attributable to the SNCF .

The certificate delivered during registration covers the details of the insurance conditions . If you would like to use your own insurance company, you will not be able to receive compensation from SNCF or AON/HELVETIA . Any excesses will remain at your charge .

• You have the possibility of purchasing several insurance policies .

• The Guaranteed Punctuality pledge does not apply to the Auto/Train .

• Customs may board the Auto/Train and the SNCF is obliged to allow them aboard .

Auto/Train travel days and vehicle loading and collection times are only provided as a guide in this brochure. They may change, particularly in the case of engineering work*. The definitive times for your journey are on your Auto/Train ticket.

The Auto/Train station minibus is no longer in operation, but there are solutions for connecting between passenger stations and Bercy Auto/Train station .
