Computer Arts, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Security v7.2. New features

are included that will have a positive impact on our users. The new password

encryption, Version Notification, and Version History features have been added with

this update. In addition, several fixes in the user login panel were applied.

The following pages provide the enhancements and changes that are included in this

revision. Please share this documentation with all Security users in your office.

We appreciate the input from our users, helping to prioritize and aid in the development

Issue # 52702

The change password function on the display login panel is not saving the new password to the user table. Need to make sure new password change is updated in the user table. Code was modified so that password changes on the Main Display Login Panel are now being saved to the user table.

Issue # 52704

Last Password Changed Date and Last Signon Date modified to include both date and time stamp. Also, code in Display Login Panel was updated so that these dates are now actually updated and stored in the user table. They also are displayed in the List User Panel.

The User Maintenance Suite Create, Change, Delete, and Copy panels needed to have the user password field masked. Masks were applied to this field on the User Maintenance Suite Create, Change, Delete, and Copy panels.

Enhancements

Issue #52715

Develop a Security Admin Tool for Encrypting and Un-encrypting all passwords.

We developed a new encryption algorithm that stores passwords in the database user table as

encrypted. In order for encryption to be turned on all user’s passwords will have to be encrypted. There can be no mixing some users encrypted, some not encrypted. This is an all or nothing switch in all users and in all CAI applications. The same goes if a site were to turn off encryption, which is not

recommended (mostly for security reasons) once they go with encryption. Furthermore, this feature will not be available until all CAI applications are updated to handle encrypted security. If this feature is turned on prior to the other CAI applications using security being updated to handle the new security features, the users will not be able to log in to those CAI applications that are not yet updated with these enhancements.

Module to Turn User Prompts On/Off. This flag, along with the Message Prompt flag determines if user gets notified at app startup with new version notification panel with links to documentation.

Developed Code to do the following:

1) Turn all User Prompts on/off for a Selected User for All Software apps or each Software App Individually.

Panel that displays at login time to notify user when a new software app version or ptf has been installed.

Developed Panel that displays at login when new version has been installed. This happens only if both the User and Message prompts are set to "Y" in the User Software table. The new version notification panel displays information about the new version or ptf such as notes and the version number and date deployed plus a link to the new version or ptf documentation. This new version notification only displays the first time a user logs in and a new version has been installed and both the user and message

prompts are set to "Y". All Message prompts will be reset when a new version deploys. The Customer site admin can control which users see the new version notification by setting the new User prompt flag to either "Y" or "N" in the User Software table.

Develop Maintenance Suite to manage entries into the new Version History Table.

Version History table stores the version history for all the CAI applications that use Security app such as Payroll, Recording, Jury, etc. The Version History Maintenance Suite is then called from the Security Admin module to Add or Change rows in the Version History table.

Develop ability to pull up a grid of each applications version history and links to the documentation. This process will be called from each applications mdi frame help file menu.

Developed a call to the Version History table to pull up each applications version history grid and be able to link to the documentation. This is initiated from each applications Help Menu via an item named "Version History".
