Rodale is seeking summer interns in digital marketing, sales and marketing, mobile design and development, journalism and media. Preference may be given to junior/seniors in Media, Software Engineering and Social Science Research, but all qualified students are encouraged to apply. This is a paid

internship.

Please review the internship description and requirements for each of the internship opportunities below. Complete the application below and be sure to rank your first, second and third choices. The last page of the application includes a space for you to type a brief paragraph or two on how participation in this internship will lead to your personal and academic development. Make sure to include a resume and transcript.

Digital Marketing Intern [ DMI ]

Job Description No. of Intern Positions: 2

Rodale is currently accepting resumes for 2 digital marketing interns for the Online Marketing group. This paid opportunity is open to current sophomore-senior Brooklyn Tech Students The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and an interest in the chosen area of the business. This internship position is based in the company’s New York, NY location and will run from approximately July 8th to August 15th, 2014.

This opportunity will support eCommerce marketing channels that support the magazine/books digital marketing initiatives as well as the latest addition to the Rodale portfolio, Rodales.com, an eCommerce website that offers health and wellness products from beauty/skin care to fitness apparel. These channels include: paid search, affiliate and email marketing.

Responsibilities may include:

• Implementation of paid & natural search strategies including keyword

research and adcopy creation

• Reporting management & data analysis

• Developing skills in basic web analytics for publishing and e-commerce • Additional projects as needed, may include some administrative tasks

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills

• Interested in digital marketing & getting involved in the industry • Well-organized, independent and self-motivated

Mobile Design & Development-Men’s Health [ MDD-MH ] Job Description No. of Intern Positions: 2

Rodale is currently accepting resumes for 2 mobile design & development interns for Men’s Health magazine. These paid opportunities are open to current sophomore-senior Brooklyn Tech Students. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and an interest in the chosen area of the business. These internship positions are based in the company’s New York, NY location and will run from approximately July 8th to August 15, 2014. The work schedule will be Monday to Thursday.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with the design and development of each brand’s monthly digital

editions, as well as new apps

• Researching, gather, and sort various assets

• General production duties related to app development

• Additional projects as needed, may include some administrative tasks

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong writing and organizational skills

• An efficient, resourceful, and highly detail oriented approach

• Familiarity with InDesign, Mac system software, and Microsoft Word • Interest in app development, health, and fitness are also appreciated

Rodale is currently accepting resumes for sales & marketing interns for our magazines, websites and corporate departments. These paid opportunities are open to current sophomore-senior Brooklyn Students. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record and an interest in the chosen area of the business. These internship positions are based in the company’s New York, NY location and will run from approximately July 8 to August 15, 2014.

We are seeking upbeat, enthusiastic team players who are highly organized and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities may include:

• Coordinating media kits and sales materials

• Sourcing event materials and premiums

• Assisting with both event preparation and on-site activities; maintaining

and sourcing premiums and event supplies

• Assisting in the updating of marketing documents, presentations and

proposals

• Maintaining advertorial and in-book page binders

• Supporting salespeople in updating the client database; RFP completion;

researching information on potential new programs, resources, partnerships, competitors, etc.; competitive analysis for proposals and developing program recaps

• Preparation and summary of win/loss reports and percent-to-goal

increases

• Additional projects as needed, may include some administrative tasks
