Florida Medicaid – COVID-19 Vaccine
• Florida Medicaid covers the COVID-19 vaccine for all eligible Medicaid recipients who have full Medicaid benefits.
• The vaccine has been approved for individuals aged 12 and older.
• Ensure that Florida’s underserved and vulnerable populations are informed on who is eligible to receive a vaccine and where they may be able to receive it.
Florida Medicaid – Housing Assistance Waiver
• Provides evidence-based community supports and services to assist in securing housing for Medicaid recipients ages 21 and older who are:
o Homeless or at-risk of homelessness, AND
o Have a Serious Mental Illness, or a Substance Use Disorder. • The overall goal is to facilitate housing stability and improve health
outcomes for participants.
• Available to Medicaid recipients living in Pinellas, Pasco, Seminole, Orange, Brevard and Osceola counties.
Preventing Homelessness
• The Florida Department of Children and Families recently received two sets of funding to help
prevent or end homelessness for Floridians.
• Faith and community leaders can help to spread the message of these federally-funded
Emergency Solutions Grant
• $85.8 million in federal emergency funds.
• Provides services for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to financial setbacks resulting from the recent public health emergency.
• Funding is used to provide rental assistance, housing relocation and
stabilization, and case management services, support emergency shelter operations, and conduct street outreach programs for unsheltered
individuals and families.
Rental Assistance Program
• Provides up to 15 months rental and utilities assistance. • Floridians may be eligible if they:
◦ Rent their home.
◦ Earn an income at or below 80% of the area’s median income.
◦ Have qualified for unemployment, experienced a loss of income, or faced financial hardships.
◦ Are at risk of losing their home, experiencing housing instability, or are living in unsafe conditions.
