Your StarID serves as your login for essential services at Minnesota State Mankato such as E-services, MavMAIL, wireless Internet, D2L Brightspace, and more. Make sure you remember it and keep your password secure.

Wireless Internet Access
MavNET is Minnesota State Mankato’s campus-wide wireless network. To log in, enter your StarID and password when prompted after selecting MavNET-Encrypted (the most secure network) on your computer or other wireless device.

Wired and wireless Internet access is available in every residence hall room, and wireless access is available in all public areas of the residence halls.

Check Your Campus Email Often
Students will receive important information on classes, financial aid, direct deposit and other University notifications via their campus email, MavMAIL. You can access your MavMAIL through the web-based email client and use your StarID to log in.

Printing on Campus:
MavPRINT
Students can print using virtually every device they have at more than 50 locations on campus. Once you queue up a document for print, just sign onto any MavPRINT release station and start printing. Each student is allocated $20.00 each semester (or about 400 black & white pages) for printing needs.

Emergency Text Message Alerts:
Star Alert
Star Alert is our Emergency Notification System. It allows campus community members to
receive text and email notifications in the event of campus-related emergencies.
A Star Alert message will briefly state the location and nature of the emergency, and may include a specific action to take. Star Alert will also be used to notify you if campus is closed or if classes are delayed or canceled.

Software Updates: Keep Patching and Stay Secure

Passwords: Longer is Stronger
Passphrases are short sentences or combinations of unrelated words that seem random to a computer but make sense to you. Computer Access for Students
The Academic Computer Center (ACC) offers computer access to students. More than 400 computers are available to use in the main lab located at 117 Wissink Hall, with another 450 computers across campus in specialized satellite labs.
