SITE SUPERVISOR

We are seeking a Site Supervisor to support building projects, general building, grounds repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring they meet agreed specifications, budgets and timescales and to oversee any building and site work. This role will be deputizing for the Site Manager to cover out of hours/on call, fire alarms, emergency maintenance, site security, health and safety and risk management.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

 Experience of plumbing and electrics, fabrication, painting & decorating  Knowledge and experience of the safe use of power tools and equipment

 Ability to assist in electrical, water, gas, security & fire installations on all Thatcham sites  Relevant health and safety regulation and procedures

 Strong interpersonal skills

 Strong planning and time management skills

 Ability to communicate verbally with people at all levels  Ability to react to changing circumstances

 Basic IT Skills using e.g. helpdesk system  Physically fit as the role involves manual work  Forklift driving

1. ROLE DETAILS Job Holder:

2. JOB PURPOSE

(Please give a short summary describing the main purpose of the job in no more than 20 words.)

Carrying out the operational day to day delivery of the facilities services within the Thatcham site. Duties include - supporting building projects, general building, grounds repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring they meet agreed specifications, budgets and timescales. This role will be deputizing for the Site Manager to cover out of hours / on call, fire alarms, emergency maintenance, site security, health and safety and risk management.

3. DIMENSIONS

Staff: No direct reports – supervises and manages contractors / cleaners.

Financial: Work within a IT Services and Infrastructure team to advise and support property costs of £1.7 million and a maintenance budget of approx. £50k

Other Statistics:

Leasehold sites at Thatcham – Colthrop Way, Adult and Apprentice academies on Daytona Drive.

Freehold site at Thatcham – Crash Lab.

4. COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal to Thatcham Within Department:

 With Site Manager – agree daily work schedules, planning servicing & maintenance schedules to ensure site standards, any other tasks on a reactive basis.

 With IT Services and Infrastructure Manager – liaise and deputise for Site Manager as required

Other departments:

 Support managers and staff with any facilities or maintenance requirements.

 Working with Risk team to ensure Health and Safety and Risk policies are adhered too. External to Thatcham

 Liaise with contract cleaners on any issues or concerns, including the ordering of consumables.

 Liaise with external contractors for the repair, maintenance and security of facilities and equipment.

 Liaise with external security / alarm / fire monitoring services to ensure service operation and notification in the event of an incident.

Knowledge

 Experience in facilities / site support role.

 Experience in managing site projects and adhering to budgets and SLA’s  Strong team player

7. KEY RESULT AREAS

Assist in the monitoring and control of building services (e.g., utilities, security, cleaning). Manage and control schedules to ensure required standards.

 Responsible for carrying out any equipment or building repairs as necessary, and to request appropriate assistance from external contractors as required

 Carrying out facilities support including driving, cleaning, maintenance  Primary response for Security, Fire and health and safety

 Plan and Supervise contractor’s activities and provided feedback and recommendations to Site Manager

8. SCOPE FOR IMPACT

Assist in the preparation, planning and running of company events both on and off site. e.g. Repair Focus, to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Support all departments in their facilities requirement, including moving furniture, equipment and facilities repair and maintenance, painting and decorating, picture hanging, and all other “unseen" activities.

Ensure that security, fire, health and safety are adhered too and responses are covered in the absence of site manager (Holidays / Sickness etc.)
