1. General Requirements
1.1. The service Merchant’s employee undertakes to allow the Customer to pay for the goods or services by means of a Terminal.
1.2. Only the Customer has the right to perform transactions with the Card. The Merchant is required to refuse to service the Card if it is not the Customer who performs the transaction. 1.3. The Merchant is required to authorise the transaction in the presence of the Customer.
1.4. The Merchant does not have the right to divide the amount between several transactions and receipts unless the Customer wishes to pay part of the transaction by card and part of it in cash. 1.5. The Merchant has no right to perform cash transactions by means of Cards.
2. Using The Card In A Payment Terminal
Cards to be accepted are determined by an agreement between the Merchant and the Bank/or Card Centre.
2.1. Making the payment by using a magnetic stripe Card
2.1.1. The Merchant undertakes to hold the Card personally and not return it before the transaction is concluded.
2.1.2. To check visually the authenticity of the Card and its conformity to the description of the Card provided in clause 7 in these requirements. If the Card does not conform to the requirements, the transaction must be interrupted and the Merchant is required to refuse to accept the Card as the means of payment.
2.1.3. To authorise the transaction pursuant to the user guide of the payment terminal or the cash register system. If automatic authorisation fails, then call the authorisation centre and ask for the code of authorisation by telling:
• the service provider’s merchant number and name;
• number of the Card;
• period of validity of the Card;
• sum of the transaction;
• control portion.
The authorisation centre will issue a permitting or prohibiting response code. The Merchant is obliged to submit even other information to the Card centre, if the latter requires it. Explanations of codes and subsequent instructions are provided in clause 6. The positiive response code received must be entered into the payment terminal or cash register system pursuant to this instruction manual.
2.1.4. If the payment terminal or cash register system announces that the four last digits entered for the purpose of verification do not match the ones read from the magnetic stripe, not to return the Card, identify the person and call the police. The printed receipt must be retained.
2.1.5. If the numbers printed on the receipt do not match the numbers on the Card, not return the Card, identify the person and call the police. Transaction must be cancelled and the receipt retained. 2.1.6. In case of a negative or prohibiting authorization code for the transaction, to abort the transaction and take measures as provided in clause 6.
2.1.7. To observe that the Card number and the type of Card displayed on the screen of the terminal or the cash register system match the provided Card.
2.1.8. If the sum of the transaction is EUR 100 or above (unless otherwise provided in the
agreement) or there are doubts about the Card’s authenticity or the Customer’s person, to identify the bearer of the Card pursuant to the requirements provided in clause 4.
2.1.10. To check the identity of signatures on the Card’s signature stripe and on the receipt. If the signatures on the receipt and on the Card’s signature stripe do not match, to identify the bearer of the Card pursuant to the requirements provided in clause 4. If the Card is not signed, the Merchant is required to authorise the transaction, identify the Customer and ask the Customer to sign the Card. The Merchant must not carry out the transaction if the Customer refuses to sign the Card. In that case the Merchant must cancel the authorisation.
2.1.11. To return the copy of the receipt or a second receipt, the Card and the identity document to the Customer.
2.2. Making the payment by using a smart Card the merchant must:
2.2.1. Enable the customer to insert the Card into the chip reader.
2.2.2. To allow the Card holder, when the appropriate notices are displayed on the terminal screen, to enter the PIN code,
2.2.3. If more than one payment functions are stored on the Card’s chip, when these are displayed on the terminal screen allow the customer to choose the preferred payment function.
2.2.4. To carry out the transaction pursuant to the user guide of the payment terminal. If the payment terminal cannot read the Card’s chip, the transaction should be carried out pursuant to the user guide of the payment terminal, using the magnetic stripe of the Card. (See clause 2.1) 2.2.5. If the customer identification method is PIN code and the identification fails because the PIN locks up, the transaction must be interrupted and the Merchant must refuse to accept the Card as the means of payment.
2.2.6. If the Customer is successfully identified with the help of PIN code, to return a copy of the receipt or a second receipt and the Card to the Customer. Attention: If the transaction is based on the PIN code, the Customer’s additional signatuure and identification by document are not required.
2.2.7. If the transaction’s acceptation method for the Customer is signature, submit the receipt to the Customer for signing. To check the identity of signatures on the Card’s signatuure stripe and on the receipt. If the signatures on the receipt and on the Card‘s signatuure stripe do not match, to identify the bearer of the Card pursuant to the requirements provided in clause 4.
2.2.8. To return the copy of the receipt or a second receipt, the Card and the identity document to the Customer.
2.3. The requirements of installing the PED (PIN entry device) at the point of
sales:
2.3.1. The PED must not be in the viewing range of a video surveillance camera and must be located on the service counter in the area on the side of the customer.
2.3.2. The PED must be oriented with the direction to the customer and it must have the privacy protection shield to see that the PIN is entered privately.
2.3.3. The Merchant must not remove the PED’s safety edge that is integral to the PIN pad and protects the privacy of entering the PIN. Nobody must not get to see or get to know in some way the PIN.
2.3.4. The merchant must guarantee the protection of the PED against stealing or replacing. When additional equipment is installed it must inform the Bank immediately.
3. Returning of the Purchase
3.1. If the Customer returns the purchase, the transaction must be annulled as described in the operating regulations.
3.2. If the Merchant fails to return the purchase the transaction data must be faxed to the Bank Card’s Department. Information must be sent to the posabi@swedbank.ee.
4. Identification of a Person
4.1. The following must be verified for identification of a person:
• whether the bearer of the Card is displayed on the photo in the document;
• whether the name of the bearer of the Card on the Card matches the name in the docu-ment or if there is no name on the Card then verify whether the signature on the receipt matches the signature in the document and on the Card;
• whether the signature of the bearer of the Card on the receipt matches the signatuure in the document and on the Card;
• the validity of the document must not have expired; • the document must not be corrupted;
• in case the Merchant doubts the authenticity of the document, he or she must refuse to carry out the transaction.
4.2. If the person is identified with help of an identifying document, the data of the document should be written onto the receipt:
• Name of the document; • Document’s number;
• Personal identification code, if possible. Code Meaning Merchant’s activity

In case the terminal submits a number that is not listed here, the following should be concluded:
When the codes are beginning with 1 denote that the transaction cannot be carried out When the codes are beginning with 2 denote that the Card should be collected
When the codes are beginning with 9 denote system error.
5. The merchant is committed to confiscate and return to the bank and call
the police when the card is stolen, lost or in some other way came in the
posession of the third person.
If possible the presenter of the card must be identified. The bank pays a reward for every confisca-ted card. The merchant must return the card to the customer when it is not valid any more.
6. Description of Accepted Cards
The Merchant undertakes not to accept the Card if:
• The card does not answer to the description; • The information on the front panel cannot be seen;
• The signature band on the back of the card is injured, scratched or you can see the word ”VOID”.

1. MasterCard logo
• MasterCard logo is situated on the card right upper or lower corner.
• MasterCard logo is situated above or below the hologram and is surrounded by the line which seizes also the hologram.
• Logo must be printed on the card.
• On the cards issued in USA or Canada there can also be Diners Club logo, which is situ-ated on the upper border of the card with the text ”Diners Club International”.
2. Hologram
• MasterCard hologram ”Two hemispheres of the Earth” is situated on the front or at the back of the card.
• Hologram is multidimensional. Looking at the hologram under a corner you can see the two hemispheres of the Earth, on the background the text MasterCard.
• When the hologram is on the front of the card, the last four numbers of the card are em-bossed on the hologram.
3. Card number
• MasterCard number starts with 5 and is 16 dimensional. • Cardnumbers are embossed on the card.
• The first four numbers are preprinted on the card.
4. Cardholder
• Cardholder’s name is embossed on the card (company’s name also if the card is a com-pany card).
5. Validity
• The card has an embossed validity time. For example 12/11 shows that the the card is valid until the end of December in 2011.
6. The symbols seen under ultraviolett light.
• Under ultraviolett light you can see letters M and C.
7. Signaturepanel
• Signaturepanel has the text ”MasterCard“ in blue, red and yellow running diagonally. • The signature panel must not be damaged and you must not see the word ”VOID”.
8. Controle degree
• Controle degree is the last three numbers on the signature panel or in a special white box. The card number is aslant to the left.

• Logo is situated on the card right upper or lower corner.
2. Hologram
• Visa hologram ”Flying dove” is situated on the front or at the back of the card or can be integrated with the magnetic stripe. Hologram is multidimensional. Looking at the holo-gram under a corner you can see the dove flying and the last four numbers of the card are embossed on the hologram if it is on the front of the card.
3. Card number
• Visa number starts with 4 and is 13 or 16 dimensional. • Cardnumbers are embossed on the card.
• The first four numbers are preprinted on the card.
4. Cardholder
• • Cardholder’s name is embossed on the card (company’s name also if the card is a com-pany card).
5. Validity
• The card has an embossed validity time. For example 01/11 shows that the the card is valid until the end of January in 2011.
6. The symbols seen under ultraviolett light.
• Under ultraviolett light on the card with the old logo you can see flying dove. With the new logo you can see V on the logo.
7. Signature panel
• Signaturepanel has the text ”Visa” in blue and yellow running diagonally. On the card with the new logo you can see Visa written horizontally under UV-light.
• The card number must be printed on the signaturepanel (full or partial number) and the control degree (to the left). The card last four numbers are on the upper right corner of the signature panel.
• The card number on the front panel must coincide with the one or part of it on the signa-ture panel.
• The signature panel must not be damaged and you must nos see the word ”VOID”.
8. Controle degree
• Controle degree is the last three numbers on the signature panel or in a special white box.

1. Logo
• Maestro logo is situated on the card upper or lower right corner.
2. Cardnumber
• Cardnumber starts with nubmers 5 or 6 and is 12 till 19 dimensional. • Cardnumbers can be infilled or embossed on the card.
3. Card validity
• Card validity can be infilled or embossed on the card. For example the date 06/04 shows that the card is valid until the end of June in the year 2004.
4. Cardholder
• Cardholder’s name can be infilled or embossed on the card (on the company card also the name of the company).
5. Back of the Card
• There can be symbols of the International Card Organisation. The signaturepanel must not be injured or scratched.

• The new logo is situated on the card right upper or lower corner. Under UV-light you can see V on the logo.
2. Hologram

7. The Card must have ”electronic use only” written on the card.
8. On the back of the card there can be control degree on the signature panel

• American Express logo is located on the front or back of the Card. • Blue Box cards have the registered ® near the logo.
2. Hologram
• Hologram appears for security purposes on Blue Box Line Card s only.
3. Card number
• Card number starts with 3 and has 15 digits.
• The first group of numbers has four digits, second group has six digits and third group has five digits.
• Card number on the front of the Card is embossed.
4. Card holder name
• Card holder name is embossed.
5. Expiry date
• Expiry date on the Card is embossed. • Valid thru shows Card validity period.
6. Batch Code
• On the front of the Card there is a four digit Batch Code.
7. Signature panel
• Signature panel includes wavy artwork and white border.
• There must be a printed Card number on the signature panel, same as on the front of the Card.
• Signature panel must not be tamped and there must not be seen ”VOID” under it.
8. Special ”AX” mark
• On the front of the Card there can be placed embossed ”AX” mark.
9. ”Member Since”
• On the front of the Card there is embossed double digit year number since the Card holder has joined American Express.
