What we do

Overhaul Concept Plans

Calabrese House can take on a complete overhaul of the venue, defining a specific market through competitor analysis and key consumer studies. We can work from the bottom by simply developing a company ethos, to define the disposition, character and fundamental values particular to the concept, working from the operation of the back-of-house to the design of the interior, as well as working on the branding and current customer base.

Business Development

Calabrese House will target the right demographic to define the perfect strategy. Our Business Development team will build relationships with key clients and local businesses as well as working closely with the marketing

team to drive conversion.

The senior team of Calabrese House has over 40 years of experience in the sector and has won a multitude of awards over the years including Best Bar UK (Theme Awards) and Best Bar London (London Bar & Club

Awards) for the critically acclaimed ‘The Hoxton Pony.’

Renowned for its attention to detail and innovating mentality, Calabrese House is at the cutting edge of UK hospitality.

Gerry Calabrese - Managing Director

Gerry has been in the hospitality industry for 18 years, working in all sectors of the business, from prestigious 5-star hotels, top restaurants, boutique nightclubs and award winning cocktail bars. This gives the company a

unique insight and intricate knowledge of all facets of hospitality.

He has won a host of awards, both personally and for the company. Calabrese also consults for major global beverage companies in product development, as well as advising a number of internationally recognised

brands on food and beverage delivery.

Gerry has also done a variety of media work including being a regular contributor to a number of national & regional magazines.

Jon Calabrese – Head of Operations

Jon has begun to forge a strong reputation within the hospitaility industry. Heis ‘born to the breed.’ Heavily influenced by his father, world-renowned cocktail maestro Salvatore Calabrese and entrepreneur brother Gerry. Since the brothers started working together, their business has grown expidentionally. Jon takes a fresh approach to the industry and runs day to day operations for the group, managing and cultivating teams of

passionate hospitality professionals.

Jennifer Hughes – Head of Events & New Business

Jennifer started her career in hospitality in 2002 for the Northern sector of The Living Room Group (now, Living Ventures). In 2005, she moved to London, secured by Frank Dowling of the Inc. Group as Head of Events before moving back to the Living Room Group as Events Operator for three of their flagship sites. Jennifer then moved to ETM Group working for venues such as The Botanist Sloane Square, The Cadagon

Arms Chelsea and The Gun Docklands, which developed Jennifer’s business sense and creative awareness. The progression to The Soho House Group in 2009 as Events Manager of Shoreditch House as well as the Aubin & Will’s Cinema, helped build professional and regular clients such as Madonna, Kate Moss, Robert De Niro, Kevin Spacey and Elton John along with high profile Fashion houses such as Burberry, Tom Ford, Dolce

& Gabbana and Mulberry.

She then moved to Project Manager for The House Festival from January-July 2012 (www.housefestival.com) Successfully securing headliners such as Lana Del Ray, Keane, Friendly Fires, Labrinth, Aloe Blacc, Basement Jaxx, Aluna George, Lianne La Havas and Rizzle Kicks along with high-profile sponsors and partners such as

SKY and Grey Goose saw the festival completely sell-out within 22 hours of releasing tickets. In October 2012, Jennifer relocated to Calabrese House.

Emma Murray – PR & Marketing Strategist

Emma has over 10 years PR experience predominately with national blue-chip brands, celebrities and large entertainment venues.

Emma started her PR and Marketing career managing the sponsorship for the British Superbike Championship, before being head hunted by a large agency to manage the UK account for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and Apparel. From here, the next natural progression for Emma was to go freelance and went on to secure accounts with: David Hasselhoff, Whisky Mist, The Hippodrome, Loaded Magazine, London Clubs International, Celebrity Chef James Martins first UK restaurant - The Leeds Kitchen and Aspers Casinos to name but a few. Emma is constantly on the pulse, expanding and developing her knowledge on all the latest social media platforms and helps deliver a key online marketing strategy helping businesses to understand what their

customers require.
