Not a famous name but what a wine! Classic almonds, sourdough and brioche nose balanced with citrus, apples, nutmeg & vanilla. A delicious bottle of wine.

7. Wiston Estate ‘Blanc de Blancs’. West Sussex, England N.V. 95.00 With Limerick born Dermot Sugrue at the helm, this is a great example

of what stunning sparkling wines can be made in the south of England.

11. Riesling QbA. Loosen Estate, Mosel 1/2 BOTTLE 2015 24.00 Yes, a tiny hint of sweetness. But so fresh, balanced, alive and delicious.

12. Inocente ‘Fino’, Macharnudo Vineyard. Valdespino, Jerez ½ Bottle 26.00 One of the great, and best value, wine styles in the world.

Delicious on its own, magnificent with Dave’s snacks!

13. Sancerre. Andre Dezat, Loire 1/2 BOTTLE 2014 30.50 Complete, delicate, with lime flowers and talc notes, the palate pretty

with benchmark greengage and nettle flavours, juicy ripeness, good intensity and poise.

14. Can Vendrell, Petit Albet. Albet I Noya, Penedes 2015 29.00 An exciting and refreshing blend of local variety Xarel-lo, Chardonay

for some body and weight, enlivened in this vintage by the addition of some crisp Sauvignon. The Xarel-lo lends firmness and a touch of acidity to this

light white wine from the Mediterranean slopes of Alt Penedés near Barcelona. Organic.

and a slightly smoky finish.

25. Chablis . Domaine Seguinot-Bordet, Burgundy ½ BOTTLE 2015 28.00 Hints of grapefruit and kiwi lead to more buttery and soft flavours and a

lively acidity and refreshing finish.

26. Domaine Bassac, Armonia, Cotes de Thongue 2014 29.00 Situated at Puisalicon, a medieval village in the heart of the Languedoc.

Made from Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Muscat Petit Grain. It is pale with light floral aromas. Fruity and round in the mouth yet still maintaining a crisp acidity.

Fine aromas and deliciously light fruit flavours. Organic.

29. Riesling. Domaine Jean-Luc Mader, Alsasc 2015 39.00 We love this wine. Difficult to sell the first glass (Riesling still has a bad reputation!)

…but easy to sell the second! Clean ripe citrus fruit is balanced by crisp acidity.

30. Cheverny, “Domaine Bellier” . Pascal Bellier 2014 39.00 Sauvignon and Chardonnay blend. Fresh and succulent, with a bright note

of tangerine and a dry finish.

31. Chardonnay. Alkoomi, Frankland River, Western Australia 2016 41.00

‘Over-oaked and over here’ used be levelled at all Australian Chardonnay.

But styles have changed. Less oak, cooler vineyard sites, earlier picking have brought fresher, balanced, more tastier wines.

Light, floral summer fruits nose leading to crisp acidity and a mineral finish.

33. Albarino. Alba Vega, Rias Baixas 2015 42.50

Spain is more known for its red wines. But a few whites stand out.

Fino sherry, Cava fizz and Albarino from Rias Baixas. Perfect to refresh when finished your Camino pilgrimage, or after a Burren walk with Shane!

34. Riesling ‘Morts Block’. Kilikanoon, Clare Valley, South Australia 2014 45.00 Australia’s (& possibly the world’s) most Irish of vineyard regions,

the Clare Valley produces delicious, classic dry Riesling.

Floral, lime & lavender, a touch of honey and spice. Crystal and clean, yummy!

35. Macon-Lugny. Domaine St. Denis, Burgundy 2013 56.00 Restrained nose with hints of pear, apple and touch of wet stone. Lean and zesty with impressive density of fruit. A balanced wine with verve and style.

36. Chablis 1er Cru, “Fourchaume”. Domaine Fevre 2015 77.00 Delicate and blossomy, lovely delicacy, but still with all the stony freshness

you expect from Chablis. Deep and long.

Generous and Textured Whites

37. Espinhal Branco. Vieira de Sousa, Douro 2015 34.00

So, when was the last time you tasted a blend of Rabigata, Viosinho & Gouveio?

Now’s your chance. Medium to full bodied, a rich nose, citric notes with great minerality and a long and dry finish. So Portuguese Ronaldo drinks it!!

38. The Wolftrap. Boekenhoutsklook, Franschhoek, South Africa 2015 36.50 Now that’s a blend, Viognier, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc

A spicy, aromatic blend that has been French oak matured.

37. Gewurztraminer. Domaine Jean-Luc Mader 2014 39.50 This is exotic, aromatic and spicy – a rich wine but with great finesse.

39. Pouilly-Fuissé, “La Roche”. Domaine Manciat-Poncet 2015 64.00 Full-bodied with good minerality as well as lots of flesh and plenty of buttery citrus intermixed with tangerine oil, poached peach and white currant notes.

A deep, concentrated Chardonnay.

40. Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Sous les Puits’. 2013 120.00 Remoissenet Pere & Fils

Layered and rich, this Puligny shows off gorgeous depth and an expressive personality that is impossible to resist. An attractive overtone of sweet spice frames the finish.

41. Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru, “La Garenne”. Sylvain Langoureau 2013 125.00 100% Chardonnay. A full-bodied classic. An intriguing mix of flavours;

melon, peach and hazelnuts. Very well balanced and long.

Rosé Wines

42. Chateau Ferry Lacombe, “Naos”. Cotes de Provence. 2015 42.00 Made with Grenache and Syrah. With its charming rose petal colour, Naos offers an

expressive nose with hints of red fruit (cherries). The palate is well-rounded with floral notes leading to a citrus fruit finish.

Red Wines

Soft and Fruity Reds

43. Fleurie. Chateau de Beauregard, Beaujolais ½ BOTTLE 2012 31.00 The nose reveals floral aromas, dry hay and red fruits and the palate shows

flavours of strawberry and blackcurrant enveloped in a velvety smooth fleshiness leading to a long, satisfying finish.

44. Can Vendrell, Petit Albet. Albet I Noya, Penedes 2014 29.00 A delicious young wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Granatxa and Tempranillo.

Bursting with ripe berry flavours. Organic.

45. Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Castellani 2015 29.00

From the back of Italy’s knee, a ticklish place for smooth, medium-bodied reds with flavours of dark cherry, blueberries and ripe plum.

46. Merlot , Domaine de Peres, Pays d’Oc 2016 29.00

A round and mouth filling Merlot with local aromas of red berries and soft tannins.

47. Garnacha ‘Old Vine’. Agramont, Principe de Viana, Navarra 2014 32.90 Young Grenache can be a bit simple, all juicy strawberry. Bit with a little vine age, darker fruits, a bit of spice lead to something more interesting.

Now it’s no Chateau Rayas, but delicious all the same.

48. Fosso del Nibbio DOC . Poggio al Gello, Montecucco 2012 34.50 Clean, fresh, slightly fruity with a smooth tannin finish. 90% Sangiovese and

10% Colorino. Small vineyard. Family of Stefania from the nearby Russell Gallery. Organic.

49. Beaujolais Villages, Domaine Rochette 2014 41.50

The 2013 Beaujolais Villages is crafted from vines grown on granitic soil.

It is a wine for all occasions - soft, fruity and eminently drinkable.

50. Barbera d’Alba. Bera, Piedmont 2014 44.00

What the locals drink in Piemonte when waiting for their Nebbiolo’s to open up.

Rich, concentrated and impressive. This wine has an intense, vivid ruby colour, good intensity and concentration of savoury fruits.

51. Fleurie, Domaine de la Treille 2014 45.00

Strawberry fruit nose, good depth, weight of sweet fruit & balanced ripe tannins.

52. Chateau La Grolet. Cotes de Bourg AC. Bordeaux. ½ BOTTLE 2014 19.50 Aromas of ripe red fruits, ample and generous on the palate, with well

integrated tannins. Organic.

53. Chateau Tour de Mirambeau. Bordeaux ½ BOTTLE 2013 23.00 Soft cassis and plum fruit, medium bodied.

54. Chianto Classico DOCG. Rocca delle Macie, Tuscany. ½ BOTTLE 2014 28.00 Rich, well structured, berry fruit flavours.

55. Cabernet Sauvignon `Anderra`. Baron Philipe de Rothschild, Chile 2013 35.00 Elegant, cassis, coffee, medium bodied, fine tannins.

Cabernet and Rothschild, a winning combination.

56. Alkoomi Shiraz. Frankland River, Western Australia 2014 35.00 A spicy black pepper medium to full bodied Shiraz with subtle

flavours of plums and hints of vanilla.

57. Bodegas Fuentenarro ‘4 months in Barrel’. Ribero del Duero 2014 35.00 Ribero del Duero now challenges Rioja as the red wine producing region of Spain producing delicious medium to full bodied Tempranillo wines.

The altitude of the region is key to giving the wines their full flavoured freshness.

58. Chateau La Grolet. Cotes de Bourg 2009 37.00

Aromas of ripe red fruits, ample and generous on the palate, with well integrated tannins. Made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Organic.

59. Sainte Croix ‘Le Fournas’. Hautes Corbieres 2013 37.50 We tasted this as a team and thought it was just delicious. An unusul blend

of 45% Carignan, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre. Lots of lovely

dark fruit flovours but not heavy. Medium bodied and elegant, supported by fresh acidity, a flinty minerality and soft tannins with a long, aromatic finish. Organic.

60. Malbec. Château les Croisille Silice, Cahors 2014 42.00 Tasted this during the winter and really impressed. Deep colour,

sensible alcohol (12.5%) and lots of savoury, black fruit and spice flavours.

Very different to the bigger Argentinian offerings of the varietal.

61. Domaine Ricard LeVilian. Touraine 2015 42.00

Malbec and Cabernet Franc. An abundance of dark fruit, cocoa and white pepper on the nose. A gutsy food wine with lots of cherry and blackcurrant fruits rounded off with a delightful pepper and spice finish.

62. Saumur-Champigny, Chateau de Villeneuve 2015 47.00 In a region more known for it’s white wines, the reds are very effected by

the vintage. In good years like 2015 the region produces beautiful, elegant and alive Cabernet Franc. Organic

Medium and Elegant Bodied Reds

63. Kate Radburnd Pinot Noir. Martinborough, New Zealand 2013 46.00 Dark cherry fruit is supported by subtle sweet oak and silky, fine tannins. Elegant and rich with a light, tangy acidity & alluring freshness. Faint smokiness and succulent red fruits.

64. Brouilly. Chateau de Pierreux 2015 49.50

Bright, deep purple in colour, with a forward, open nose, perfumes of

raspberries and strawberries characteristic of good Gamay. Good depth of flavour on the palate, with enough structure to balance the wealth of ripe, cherry fruit.

65. Chateau Puy Castera. Haut-Medoc 2010 51.00

Alix Mares produces this wonderful medium bodied wine. It cleanses the palate with berries and tobacco flavours.

66. Mercurey 1er Cru. Domaine Theulot Juillot 2014 69.00 Pinot Noir. Making wine true to its terroir-ripe, generous and beautifully balanced.

67. Nuits-Saint-Georges. David Duband 2013 97.00

A beguiling Pinot Noir. It is succulent, well balanced and has good grip.

Well poised with some lovely style and very elegant.

Rich and Big Hearted Reds

68. Vina Bujanda Crianza. Familia Martinez Bujanda, Rioja ½ BOTTLE 2014 21.00 100% Tempranillo. Blackberry and bilberry aromas with a touch of spice reminiscent of clove and cinnamon. The palate is fresh and silky with lovely structure and balance.

69. Carmenere, “Gran Verano”. Apaltagua, Central Valley, Chile 2015 29.00 A deep coloured wine with glints of blue. It possesses various complex

aromas where mature red and black fruits combine. It is a full-bodied wine of well-balanced acidity, with an intense and persistent finish.

70. Longview `Hen‘s Teeth` Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, South Australia 2010 33.00 From one of Australia‘s cooler wine regions, and with a little bottle age under

it‘s belt, the Longview boys have produced a real cracker. Savoury and spice, balance and freshness all come together here.

71. Monastrell ‘Laderas de El Seque’. Artadi, Alicante 2012 36.00 100% Monastrell. Purple coloured, it reveals a fragrant perfume of violets,

raspberry and cherry. It has a vibrant palate-feel, savoury flavours, good depth and grip, and a lengthy finish. 89 points – Robert Parker.

72. Vina Bujanda Crianza. Familia Martinez Bujanda, Rioja 2013 38.00 100% Tempranillo. Blackberry and bilberry aromas with a touch of spice

reminiscent of clove and cinnamon. The palate is fresh and silky with lovely structure and balance.

Rich and Big Hearted Reds

73. Cabernet Sauvignon, Domaine Naturalist, Margaret River. 2014 42.00 One of the most gorgeous corners of Australia. Magnificent surf, majestic

Karri forests and great Cabernet Sauvignon…what’s not to like.

74. Rasteau, Camille Cayran. 2014 43.00

Chateauneuf du Pape is the King of the Southern Rhone, Gigondas the Prince.

However, many other villages are producing great (value) wines using a similar blend of grapes. Rasteau is one of those villages.

75. Malbec Reserva. Jean Bousquet, Mendoza 2014 43.00 Argentina’s great vinous calling card to the world, Malbec produces

big, robust hearty wines, all dark fruits and spice.

76. Cantos de Valpiedra. Familia Martinez Bujanda, Rioja 2012 44.00 Fresh cherry fruit with touches of vanilla oak…good acidity, silky texture and soft, Attractive tannins. Despite the sweet fruit, a very elegant balance in the mouth.

77. Cabernet Sauvignon. Rutherford Ranch, Napa Valley 2014 54.00 We’ve looked long and hard to find a wine that reflects all the good that Napa Valley Cabernet has to offer…without ‘Screaming Eagle’ prices. We think we’ve found it! Lovely ruby color, aromas of dark red fruits, spearmint and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, with rich tannins and delicious flavors of currant, boysenberry and caramel.

78. Gigondas. Domaine du Grapillon d’Or 2013 61.00

60% Grenache, 40% Syrah. Gamy, garrigue, smoked herb, meat and kirsch characteristics. Excellent, possibly outstanding, it possesses more flavour, weight and richness than some of it’s more famous neighbours.

79. Les Colombiers de Feyit Clinet, Pomerol 2013 74.00 A blend of Merlot & Cabernet Franc. Silky and sophisticated with a lingering, smoky finish.

80. Chateau Lalande. Saint-Julien, Bordeaux 2011 79.00 Floral and fresh berry fruit, good middle fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot.

81. Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Domaine du Pere Pape 2013 85.00 Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre

Big and bold with ripe blackberry fruit and liquorice spice.

82. Barolo DOG. Silvano Bolmida, Vigne Del Fantina 2012 89.00 Nebbiolo. Very attractive nose with subtle layers of cherries and violets.

Full bodied and velvety, sweet and ripe on the palate.

83. Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2011 98.00 One of the historic and great (if not loud) names of the Napa Valley.

84. Chateau La Commanderie. Grand Cru Saint Emilion. 2009 105.00 Dark berries and spice flavours from hand harvested grapes and 40-50 year old vines.

85. Brunello di Montalcino. Andrea Mantengoli, Montalcino 2011 129.00 A modern style, laced with vanilla, toast, cherry and mineral flavours.

Compact right now, with moderate length, but also juicy acidity, so give this some time.

Seductive and fresh with soft supple texture and lively flavours of citrus and exotic fruits.

86. Trockenbeerenauslese 2013 69.50 per ½ bottle Hopler, Neusiedlersee, Austria 13.50 per 71ml glass

Silky. Soft honey and apricot. Long finish. Excellent.

88. Maury, Fagayra Rouge 2012 83.00 per Bottle

Domaine les terres de Fagayra, France 7.50 per 71ml glass Full-bodied, fleshy and fruity. This particular blend gives the wine its

original texture, both strong and soft. The superb length and elegant minerality are born of the old vines' direct contact with the bedrock on a north facing hillside of pure schist. Fabulous with chocolate.

89. Quinta De Crasto Late Bottle Vintage 2011 7.50 per 71ml glass Deep ruby red. Lifted lavender, liquorice, dark cherry and chocolate.

Intense blackberry, plums. Well layered firm but restrained.

Active tannin grip and sweetness. Gold Medal, International Wine Challenge Awards 2016.

90. Ten Year Old Tawny Port ‘Tonel 12’. Quinta de la Rosa 7.50 per 71ml glass This is a rich and elegant blend with wonderful aromas exuding the

heat of the Douro. On the palate it is complex with powerful dried fruit,

figs, honey and almonds with a long pleasing finish. Perfect with our Irish cheese plate

Piquepoul from the Mediterranean shores, now that’s something different

Chardonnay, La Marouette. Vin de Pays d’Oc, Languedoc 2015 8.00 We’er not a fan of big, oaky Chardonnay, so this is perfect. Textured but not heavy.

Domaine de Peres, Sauvignon Blanc. Pays d’Oc 2015 7.50

Not as firm as Sancerre, yet more subtle than some New Zealand versions. This sits beautifully betweeen the two. Refreshing but with a touch of southern French softness.

Riesling. Bestheim, Alsasc 2014 9.50

Like Rose wines, Riesling is a bit misunderstood. But the dry versions from Alsasc are delicious.

Brilliant as an aperitif yet versitile with food. A wine to cover many bases.

Rose Wines

Chateau Ferry Lacombe, “Naos” Cotes de Provence 2013 10.50 We love good rose wines. Sometimes misunderstood but great on their own, delicious with food and beautiful looking in the glass. What's not to like?

Red Wines

Can Vendrell, Petit Albet. Albet I Noya, Penedes. 2014 7.50 Delighred to offer this pair of organic wines from one of the great producers of Penedes.

Bursting with ripe berry flavours.

Cabernet Sauvignon `Anderra`. Baron Philipe de Rothschild, Chile 2014 8.20 Cabernet and Rothschild, a winning combination.

Longview `Hen‘s Teeth` Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, South Australia 2010 8.50 From one of Australia‘s cooler wine regions, and with a little botte age under its belt,

the Longview boys have a real cracker here. Savoury and spice, balance and freshness all come together here.

Sainte Croix, Le Fournas. Hautes Corbieres 2013 9.50

We tasted this as a team and thought it was just delicious. An unusul blend of 45% Carignan, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre. Lots of lovely

dark fruit flovours but not heavy. Medium bodied and elegant. Really enjoyed it. Hope you do too.
