Prior Credit Evaluation Workflow
After the VA student’s high school, military credit and/or college transfer credit evaluations are completed by the Office of the Registrar, a workflow email notification will be sent to the designated academic advisor and academic department chair. Please make a note of the workflow number in the subject line for the student. It will be utilized at the end of the workflow process.

This student has a declared BIOL major and Jefferson Lebkuecher is listed as their assigned faculty advisor. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs requires the school to obtain VA education benefit recipients' prior credit. Prior credit is defined as the amount of credit allowed for previous education, training, and experience; including military training and experience. This is the credit that is applied to the student's specific degree program and indicated upon his/her program of study. Each academic department generally develops their own program of study also known as advisement sheets or degree completion templates. Basically, the prior credit evaluation is the academic degree template/educational plan that the student must complete in order to obtain his/her degree. The educational plan must be inclusive of major requirements, general education requirements, and number of electives. The academic advisor clearly annotates on the educational plan what the student has received credit. However, if an academic advisor is not assigned, the process will pause and send a workflow email notification to the academic department chair and administrative assistant.
