TC23 Scope

To prepare standards for electrical accessories and home and building electronic systems for household and similar purposes, the word similar including

locations such as offices, commercial and industrial premises, hospitals, public b ilding etc

building, etc.

These accessories:

- are intended for fixed installation, or for use in or with appliances and other electrical or electronic equipment, and may include electronic components.

- environmental aspects - energy efficiency aspects

and some products, such as:

- LVDC accessories

- sound and signalling devices

- Connecting devices, either as separate

entities or as integral parts of an end product - installation couplers for permanent connection

A new WG has been created to deal with HBES (2013)

The standards with Group Safety Function status in question under TC 23 responsibility are IEC 60999-1 and IEC 61545.
