RULES, REGULATIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION

1. RULES: MOZART MEMORIAL VAULTING CLASSIC is governed by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book and the current AVA Rule Book and the AVA Region I Rule Book (all are found online at the appropriate websites). Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current Federation rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.

2. MElMBERSHIIP STATEMENT: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to partici-pate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Com-bined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

If a vaulter/longeur/coach is not a current AVA Adult or Vaulting member, he/she must fill out an AVA Event Membership form and submit that to competition management with a check for $25 before entering the arena. 3. ENTRIES: All MAILED entries and all forms and payments must be postmarked or delivered no later than March 24. CompWeb entries close at midnight, March 27, 2016. Correct fees and completed forms must accom-pany each entry. NO POST ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Entries will be accepted either by online (closed at midnight March 27), mail (postmarked March 24), fax/email/hand delivered (received by 6pm March 27). Entries and forms must be postmarked or received by March 27 whether or not entries have been done online. ABSOLUTELY NO POST/LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Entries of persons suspended or expelled from the USEF will be refused. The Management has the right to refuse entries of an exhibitor or participation of any vaulter, longuer, Owner, Trainer or Coach who has shown objectionable attitude or behavior at a recognized competition toward its management, which management is able to substantiate, or previous unsportsmanlike behavior at a Recognized Competition which management is able to substantiate.

ATTENTION COMPETITORS: Each club/competitor is responsible for supplying management with correct

USEF numbers for their horses, horse owners, vaulters and longuers in USEF recognized classes. For AVA and AVA Region I classes, clubs/competitors must supply managment withh the correct AVA numbers for their hors-es, vaulters, coaches and longeurs. All numbers must be supplied before the competitor/horse enters the arena. The scores of competitors who fail to supply correct numbers may not be counted toward compeition and nation-al awards.

4. REFUNDS: There will be absolutely no refunds without written medical/veterinary notes after March 27 except changes due to conflicts on the order of go. Refunds will be for class fees only. Refund requests must be submitted with the refund form to competition management no later than April 30. Refunds will be made no later than May 30.

5. CHANGES: After March 27, all changes to entries except changes due to conflicts in the Order of Go will be subject to a fee of $15.00 per change requested. All changes will be subject to the approval of Show Manage-ment. Each Club must submit a signed blank check with Management at check-in.

6. ORDER OF GO: A draw by computer for the order of go for all classes will be held on March 30, 2016 at 11845 Skyline Blvd., Los Gatos. Order of Go will be posted on CompWeb (on first page at Prize List - no pass-word required) and emailed to all participating clubs by April 3. Score sheets will only be given to coaches or their authorized representative after results have been posted.

7. PRIZES AND AWARDS: Team, Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions will be given for each Round and Over-all, Men’s and Women’s division awarded through 5th place. All other classes will be awarded for compulsory round and Freestyle round and overall. Walk, Novice and Barrel classes will not receive Overall ribbons.

8. MINOR EXHIBITORS: No minor’s release shall be accepted unless it is signed by a parent or guardian. The signature of coaches on the USEF entry form will be accepted.

9. MANAGEMENT: Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes, or to change officials as it deems necessary. Decision of Show Management is final. Management reserves the right to itself interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or rising out of or incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management and its decision will be final.

10. RETURNED CHECKS: Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be handled as follows: all returned checks will be charged an additional 10% penalty ($25.00 minimum). Accounts will be given 10 days to be paid in full with cash or cash equivalent or they will be turned into the USEF for further disciplinary action.

11. STABLING: Stabling is available (Friday – Monday). No services are included. Please supply your own bedding and feed. ContactSpirit Equestrian at 805-523-1996 for bedding/ feed costs. Permanent 12x12 box stalls, and all stalls have doors.

12. GROUNDS: Exhibitors may park (car and trailer) only in specified areas. Absolutely no dogs allowed on show grounds. Bring your own chairs, seating is limited. Only those horses entered in the show will be permitted in the competition and warm-up arenas during the competition. Parking is limited. Each club will be issued one parking permit ONLY. We ask everyone else to park in the additional parking lot about 1/4 mile BEFORE you get to facility. There will be shuttles available to transport back and forth. Come to show office and pick up the club parking pass.

13. MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized ve-hicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

14. ARENAS: Competition arena: Eurofelt Footing. Competition Arenas are 22 meter circles. Riding warm-up 20x60 meter rubber and sand footing. Competitors may have access to arenas Friday before the competition if stabled on show grounds. ABSOLUTELY NO BUDDY HORSES ALLOWED IN ARENAS DURING THE

COMPETITION.

15. MUSIC: Must be provided by coaches or competitors. Management is not responsible for poor quality media. All music must be uploaded by April 2, 2016. This is the naming convention needed for the file name and title for individuals:

Use underscores when naming so there are no spaces in the filename. For team classes, use the team name in place of the vaulter name.

SUMMARY OF

SELECTION TRIAL CRITERIA FOR SENIOR or JUNIOR EVENTS

SENIOR EVENTS - Vaulters wishing to participate in the USEF selection process for the 2016 World Vaulting Championship submit an application and the required fee to the USEF. Complete details can be found at:https:// www.usef.org/_IFrames/breedsdisciplines/discipline/allvaulting/hpvaulting.aspx. They must register for Senior Individual, Senior Team or Open Pas de Deux. Vaulters must be 16 years or older. Horse and Longeur must be the same for all sections in each class, no substitutions allowed. No vaulter substitutions allowed between Sections for Team events. Selections will be based on three scores. Two must be obtained at a designated 2016

Selection Trial and one must be from a CVI3* during the Selection Trial period. For complete guidelines and restrictions see USEF Rules approved January 16, 2016

TEAM: This event must be conducted in accordance with the USEF rules taking effect on April 1, 2016 for Individual Senior Event. For the score to be considered it must be the final score from the event consisting of one round of compulsories and two rounds of freestyle. Senior Team Compulsories are the same as A-Team ex-cept no basic seat (mount is scored). Neither horses nor lungers may be changed between sections of the event. There will be one round of Compulsories and two rounds of Freestyles.

INDIVIDUALS: This event must be conducted in accordance with the USEF rules taking effect on April 1, 2016 for Individual Senior Event, except that the the qualifying requirement of two scores of 7.0 in the compulsories section of a competition will be waived. All vaulters interested in trying out for the 2016 World Championships will be allowed to enter this event. For the score to be considered it must be the final score from the event consisting of one round of compulsories and two rounds of freestyle. Senior Individual Compul-sories are the same as Gold except no basic seat (mount is scored). Neither horses nor lungers may be changed between sections of the event.

JUNIOR EVENTS - Vaulters interested in possibly participating in the selection process for the 2017 Junior World Vaulting championship are encouraged to register in the Junior Individual and Junior Pas de Deux class-es. Vaulters must be 18 years or younger. Horses and lungers may NOT be changed between rounds.

TEAM: Junior Team Compulsories are the same as AVA B Team Compulsories.

PAS DE DEUX: Junior Pas de Deux consists of two rounds of Freestyles, each 90 seconds.

INDIVIDUALS: Junior Individual are the same as AVA Silver. Compulsories are the same as AVA Silver/ Bronze Compulsories. Both rounds of compulsories are to the left.

A vaulter may enter the Junior OR Senior classes AND the AVA recognized individual

classes (as age restrictions allow). For example, Junior and Silver Individual or Junior

and Bronze Individual, Senior Individual and Gold. A vaulter may enter as a member

of a Junior OR Senior Team and Junior Pas de Deux AND the recognized AVA team

and Pas de Deux classes (as age restrictions allow).

FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT

By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Han-dler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of (Competition). I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, direc- tors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condi-tion of and in consideracondi-tion of acceptance of entry, the Federacondi-tion and/or the Competicondi-tion may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and ir- revocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4.

Federation Release, Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Indemnification

THIS DOCUMENT WAIVES IMPORTANT LEGAL RIGHTS. READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING.

I AGREE in consideration for my participation in this Competition to the following: I AGREE that the “Federation” and “Competition” as used herein includes the Licensee and Competition Management, as well as all of their officials, officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers and Federation affiliates. I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in the Competition with my horse, as a rider, driver, handler, vaulter, longeur, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, or as parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor. I am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports and the Competition involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain, suffering, or death. (“Harm”). I AGREE to hold harmless and release the Federation and the Competition from all claims for money damages or otherwise for any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm of any nature caused by me or my horse to others, even if the Harm arises or results, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition. I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition. I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the Federation and the Competition and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse while at the Competition. I have read the Federation Rules about protective equipment, including GR801 and, if applicable, EV114, and I understand that I am entitled to wear protective equipment without penalty, and I acknowledge that the Federation strongly encourages me to do so while WARN-ING that no protective equipment can guard against all injuries. If I am a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child’s participation and AGREE to all of the above provisions and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child’s behalf I represent that I have the requisite training, coaching and abilities to safely compete in this competition. I AGREE that if I am injured at this competition, the medical personnel treating my injuries may provide information on my injury and treatment to the Federation on the official USEF accident/injury report form.

BY SIGNING BELOW, I AGREE to be bound by all applicable Federation Rules and all terms and provisions of this entry blank and all terms and provisions of this Prize List. If I am signing and submitting this Agreement electronically, I acknowledge that my electronic signature shall have the same validity, force and effect as if I affixed my signature by my own hand.
