Liturgist: Receive the Holy Spirit
All: It is like precious oil on the head, the blessing of the Lord.
OPENING PRAYER
Breathe in this place, O Lord, by the power of your Holy Spirit, to
open our minds unlock our hearts, and enliven our faith so that we
may welcome the risen one among us. Amen.
OPENING HYMN of PRAISE
Come! Live in the Light!, GtG 749
CONFESSION and time of self-examination
(congregation may be seated)If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is no in us.
But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our
sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Trusting in God’s mercy, let
us confess our sin.
You have shown yourself to us, O God, by Word and Spirit, with
signs and wonders, in flesh and blood, yet we still struggle to live
and believe the good news of Jesus Christ. Have mercy on us;
forgive us. Enter into our lives and cast out our fear so that we may
come to trust in you and have life in Jesus’ name.
SILENT PRAYER of CONFESSION
SUNG RESPONSE
Breathe on Me, Breath of God, GtG 286, verse 1
DECLARATION OF PARDON

one—who offered his life in love to save the world from sin. This is the
good news of the gospel: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.

O Magnify the Lord
Words and Music by Melodie and Dick Tunney Incorporating LASST UNS ERFREUEN
Arranged by Tom Fettke
O magnify, O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. O magnify the Lord; O magnify the Lord, and may His name be lifted high forever.
King of kings and Lord of lords, may His name be lifted high forever.
O for a thousand tongues to sing the glories of my God and King.
Magnify Him! Hallelujah! Wonders of grace to God belong;
repeat His mercies in your song. Magnify Him! Hallelujah!
Glorify Him! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
O worship Him; O worship Christ the Lord with me, and let us exalt His Name forever.
O worship Christ, the Lord; O worship Christ, the Lord, and may His name be lifted high forever.
Give to the Lord of lords renown; the King of kings with glory crown.
Magnify Him! Hallelujah! His mercies ever shall endure when lords and kings are known no more.
Magnify Him! Hallelujah! Glorify Him! Hallelujah, Hallelujah! King of kings and Lord of lords,
may His name be lifted high; may His name be lifted high; may His name be lifted high forever.

Responding to God’s Word
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH:
The Apostle’s CreedI believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the
Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate
was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third
day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and
sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence
he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy
Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the
forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life
everlasting. Amen.

INVITATION to the OFFERING
Leader: Remember the first believers—who shared one heart and soul,
held their possession in common and distributed them to all in need. In
the same spirit, let us present our offerings at the feet of the risen Lord.
(congregation may be seated)
The OFFERTORY
Trust and Obey
Words by John Sammis and Jeffrey A. Smith Music by Jeffrey A. Smith
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
but His smile quickly drives it away. Not a doubt not a fear, nor a sigh nor a tear,
can abide while we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
Jesus calls us to be servants and His Word will light our way. Jesus calls us to be faithful and to trust and obey.
5
But we never can prove the delights of His love until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor He shows and the joy He bestows are for them who will trust and obey. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
or we’ll walk by His side in the way; what He says we will do, where He sends we will go
never fear, only trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
Jesus calls us to be servants and His Word will light our way. Jesus calls us to be faithful and to trust and obey.
DOXOLOGY Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow, GtG 606
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
PRAYER of DEDICATION
Holy God, we give you thanks and praise for light and life and love,
and—above all—the presence of the living Lord Among us. By your
Spirit who breathes within us, strengthen our faith, use our gifts,
and work in our lives to bear witness to the resurrection of Christ
our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.
(congregation may be seated)MORNING PRAYER & OUR LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,
on earth, as it is in Heaven!
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory forever. Amen!
