What do the various column heads mean?

Select – SR = seats remaining, C = closed section, blank area = you are either registered or on the wait list,

open box = seats available (available seats could be reserved for students currently on the waitlist),

NR = no registration available at this time

CRN – 5 digit number used to register the course

WL Cap – total number that my be on the waitlist

Subj – course pre-fix (ECN= economics)

WL Act – total number that IS on the waitlist

Crse – course number

WL Rem – open waitlist spots

Sec – section number

XL Cap – cross-list cap (between both courses)

Cmp – campus where course is taught (M = Logan Main Campus) XL Act – actual students registered (includes both courses)

Cred – credits

XL – Rem – spots remaining between both courses

Title – course title

Instructor – Instructor of Record (if known)

Attribute – general education requirement

Date (MM/DD) – Start and End dates

or alternative teaching method

Location – Building / RM #

Days – scheduled days (R=Thursday)

Time – scheduled time

Fees – class fees in addition to tuition & student body fees

Books – link to course materials for this section

Cap – total # of students who may register for this section

Act – number of students actually registered

Rem – remaining open seats

NOTE:

Please be aware of the link to register for Independent Study or Online courses (there is also a tutorial to

learn how to do this) as well as the information on registering in the Southwest region of the state.

If there is a blank box in the Select column for the course you need, click in the box and scroll to the

bottom of the page where you can click on either

Register

or

Add to Worksheet .

By clicking

Add to Worksheet,

you will see that the course

CRN

is placed in a worksheet, but

does not register you for the class. You can find additional courses by clicking

Class Search.

When your worksheet is complete, click

Submit Changes.

This process will double check any

restrictions you may have in registering, such as: link error

(needs a lab

), pre-requisite and test score

error, seating capacity, wait-listing position, time-conflicts etc.

Courses that are accepted will show as **Web Registered** with the date of registration. You will

also see the total number of credits registered along with any Registration Add Errors. The

Status

indicator

will tell you the reason for the error. Some of these errors will be explained in more

detail later in this tutorial.

To continue searching courses, click the “Look Up Classes” browser window. Continue to search

until you have all required CRN’s. Please be aware of time-conflicts and pre-requisites for each

course.

A Time-Conflict will require the authorization from BOTH instructors on the “Registration Options

Form”

A Pre-requisite error will require the authorization from the course advisor on the “Registration

Options Form” (use the link above).

The course advisor can be found within the department the course is being taught.

(i.e.: The Accounting advisor is in the Accounting Department in the College of Business, COE

Advising Center, Bus 309). Advisors can also be searched on the Undergraduate Advisor Directory

by going to

www.usu.edu/advising/advisors

and click on the link to view or print the list of

advisors.

Registration errors can be electronically authorized by the academic advisor allowing you to

register online.

When you’re ready to register, click

Select a Term by clicking on the drop down box arrow. Click

submit.

If you are currently registered, your schedule will appear. Please keep yourself

informed by reading ALL notifications when you are logged into ACCESS (Banner).

Important dates and deadlines will be posted here as well as published in other areas of

the USU student system. Scroll down to use the Add Classes Worksheet.

refund time frames as well as notation on your transcript***

To view the Dates and Deadlines schedule, go to

the specific semester.

Please note:

summer semester has multiple sessions. Please make sure you are viewing the

correct session for accurate information.

You will see that your schedule has been automatically updated as per your request.
