We, the people of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Faith Community, Baptized into Jesus Christ, formed by Word and Sacrament, and Empowered by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Seek to be a visible sign of God’s love.
We seek to build the Kingdom of God by: Using our unique gifts to minister to one another, Welcoming all and caring for those in need, Teaching our faith to others and Uniting in worship as a family with the Body of Christ.
Dear Holy People of God:
In today’s gospel, there are two events that make Jesus’ healing power so life-giving. Both healings happened through a request to Jesus in this manner:
The healing of the girl: her father said, “My daughter is at the point of death. Please, come lay your hands on her that she may get well and live.” The healing of the woman: the woman said, “If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.”
In this healing story, let’s discover the huge contrast between the two characters: the dying girl and the woman who was sick of hemorrhage for twelve years:
Their economic status: the girl was from a rich family, while the woman was an outcast and poor. On their social position: the girl had her father, who requested the healing for her, while the woman was all alone, and managed her way to be closed to Jesus and touched his clothes. Then, on their life’s situa- tion: the girl was dying, and the woman was sick of hemorrhage for twelve years.
But the differences between the two did not prevent Jesus to heal both of them. He restored the woman’s health, and he brought the girl back to life. For Jesus, economic status and social position in life do not make you special to receive his healing. Jesus didn’t ask if they have life insurance, undocumented or not, rich or poor. Jesus’ healing grace embraces all! No one is ignored. Everyone is included. And it is free of charge!
These healing events convey to us that Jesus is interested in everyone’s well-being. Wealth cannot buy Jesus’
healing grace. And our riches cannot bribe Jesus. When Jesus heals, it is for those whose faith is genuine and honest. Faith heals; it promises hope; it gives life! Remember: “Faith is the bridge to all miracles!”
As they said: “Have faith in God, and have faith in people!” That’s the driving energy when I came to serve St. Paul the Apostle Parish as a Pastor in July 1, 2015. My faith in God energized me to believe in all of you.
It’s an honor and privilege of allowing me to serve you for a 6-year joyful ride. From the bottom of my heart
“THANK YOU!” And with all humility, my apologies if I wasn’t the “good pastor” you dreamed of to be.
Now, an honest request for all of you: please continue extending your support to the new Administrator, Fr. Joseph Pilotin, MS. As you have experience his presence with you, I would like to reiterate: he’s a good and talented priest; he’s very capable of leading you to make everyone the real “visible sign of God’s love!”
Holy pilgrims, “For all that has been, THANKS! For all that will be, YES!” This is my last letter to all of you. See you later friends!
Blessings, Fr. Romy, Seleccion, MS

Adoration of the Blessed sacrament
The first adoration of Our Lord was in the stable at Bethlehem. The Blessed Mother, Mary, St.
Joseph, the Three Kings and shepherds came before him while he lay in the manger.
“And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was a multitude of heavenly hosts with the angel, praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.’” Luke 2:12-14
Coming before the Blessed Sacrament in adoration continues this holy devotion of the angels and saints here on earth. The hour before the Blessed Sacrament can increase your relationship with Our Lord. It is a time to give praise to the God of creation, but God always gives back to us in his love and grace.
The Saint Paul the Apostle Eucharistic Holy Hour Ministry invites you to adore before the Blessed Sacrament on First Friday, July 2nd.
As always, we need to stay 3 feet apart from other adorers, wear masks and stay in our seats during your hour of adoration. Also, no one should approach or touch the monstrance. This protocol could
change with the mandated Diocesan Guidelines.

ealing is something we all seek at some point in our lives. Whether we have battled a life-threatening disease or suffered through a common cold, we have all sought physical healing. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus reveals his power to heal and bring forth new life. He also longs to heal you of the things that are preventing you from growing in love for him—whether physical or spiritual. Have you ever approached him with the faith of Jairus or the hemorrhaging woman? How much do you trust his power to heal your body and soul?
D
ISCUSSION: Please watch this week's Opening the Word video at sptacc.formed.orgAs we read the Second Reading for this week, we notice Saint Paul calling us to be generous with the gifts we have, just as Christ emptied himself and bestowed his gifts on us. Are you generous with those around you? Or do you hoard your money and talents in fear that you will run out or from a lack of care for those around you?
This week’s Psalm verse proclaims, “I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.” How has God rescued you? How has he lifted you up?
P
RAYER: Today’s miracles are incredible. There is so much faith in those seeking healing and an unmistakable tender love that Jesus bestows on the people who approach him. Jesus is moved to help the father who requests healing for his sick daughter, and, as he follows him toward his home, a crowd presses in around them. People are everywhere, brushing against each other, loudly speaking, and bustling about. Even as Jesus pushes through the crowd, he stops and asks: “Who touched me?”Jesus was keenly aware that this woman of heroic faith stepped out and touched him. He saw her as she was—
in need of great mercy and full of hope that Jesus could bring her to life. Jesus speaks with her, offers her the healing she had sought, and sends her forth.
The father must have been panicked at this point. Jesus has been delayed not just by a crowd, but by someone else on the way to his dying daughter. And then the father heard that his daughter had died. Imagine the way his heart must have dropped. What did he think of Jesus? Was he angry with him?
Jesus immediately responds with encouragement to not be afraid and hold on to his faith. Jesus continued on to his home and cured his daughter.
Who do you most relate to? Is it the father who sought Jesus’s help and whose faith is tested? Maybe you relate to the woman who had been hemorrhaging for twelve years, and whose only hope was in Christ. Or do you relate to the twelve-year-old girl, who is physically alive but appears dead? Are you physically alive, but spiritually dead and in need of Christ to forgive your sins?
Take some time to reflect on the power of Christ’s healing and step out in faith, asking him to heal you today.
R
ESOLUTION: Do you truly believe in Christ’s power to heal you?Every day we have the opportunity to receive Jesus’s Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Eucharist. During Mass this week, ask Christ to heal you of something specific, such as a sin or vice you are struggling with, as you pray, “Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.”
Reflections reprinted here with permission from Augustine Institute.
We encourage you to take notes as you reflect on this week readings / homily
