ACCA qualification modules

In order to become a fully qualified ACCA member, you will need to complete:

14 qualification exams

A Professional Ethics module

A minimum of three years practical experience

The ACCA qualification exam syllabus is divided into two levels: the Fundamentals level and the Profes- sional level. Both need to be passed in order to be- come qualified.

Fundamentals level

The Fundamentals level is split between a Knowl- edge module and a Skills module. The Knowledge module (consisting of three papers) introduces you to the core areas of financial and management account- ing. Specific technical areas of accountancy are then studied in the Skills module (made up of six papers).

Three papers at the Knowledge module (F1-F3)

Six papers at the Skills module (F4-F9)

ACCA Exam Rules

You can sit a maximum of four papers in one exami- nation session. There is no minimum.

* You are required to study each module in order.

However, you can vary the order you attempt the papers within each module.

* You can attempt examinations from different modules in the same sitting if your status allows.

However, you must enter all outstanding papers in your current module in order to sit papers in the next module.

Professional level

The Professional level is divided into the Essentials module (three papers) and the Options module (two papers from a choice of four). Both modules are set at an intellectual level equivalent to a master’s degree. The papers build on the technical knowledge you will have already acquired and explore more advanced skills, techniques and values.

Three papers at the Essentials module (P1-P3) Two papers from four at the Options module (choose from P4-P7)

Ways to Study

You can study in one of four ways: in the classroom, online, at your own pace with paper and online based Basics packages or purely materials based.
