Our Mission

Rooted in our sacramental celebrations of the Eucharist, we seek to shape our future in a positive way through our parish school, religious education, youth ministry programs and numerous Christian services. While maintaining a strong sense of Catholic tradition, we look for ways to revitalize our Christian values through more openness to God's word and our gospel call to love God and neighbor. Trusting in the Holy Spirit, we seek new ways of being a church for members, active or not, as well as reaching out to the wider community.

LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION

FOR THE WEEK

As we celebrate today's feast, we are reminded that God creates and fashions each one of us with intent and purpose. We are not random accidents. We are special creations and wonderfully made. Each of us brings a unique twist to the one shot at life that we are given. As people of faith and children of God, we are asked to use our specialness to announce God's kingdom. Each of us reveals a unique part of God's face. Each day presents opportunities to communicate our faith to others and to reveal God's mercy. We have the means to point the way to Christ. How can we show Jesus to others today?

SACRIFICIAL OFFERING

The Sacrificial Offering collected at all the Masses last week amounted to $8,155.06 and the Promoting the Gospel Collection amounted to $1,062.00. We thank you for your generosity and

AND HELP SAINT MICHAEL’S???: That’s right! We’ve

paired up with SAVERS in Nashua on an exciting way to earn money. To help combat our SUMMER SLUMP, from June 18th – July 10th, drop off your gently used soft goods

(clothing, bedding, shoes, etc.) and hard goods (kitchen items, toys, games, etc.) and SAVERS will pay us for our donations per pound (20 cents for soft goods and 10 cents for hard goods)! Drop-off location is the Church Hall vestibule, Monday through Friday, 9am – 4pm (except July 4), Saturday 7am – 5pm, and Sunday 7am – 4pm. Free bags are available at the Church entrance while supplies last. Check out the flyer in this bulletin for more information.

SUMMER SLUMP: Did you know that during the summer

months (June through mid-September) our weekly offertory suffers a serious slump? In the summer of 2017, some weekly offertories were down as much as $2,000 compared to the norm! Why does this happen? It happens because Mass attendance falls off during the summer, with many of us on vacation or away for the day. When attendance decreases, so do contributions to offertories. Please remember that our offertories need to be at least $8,000 every week for our parish to be financially stable. If you’d like to help our parish avoid the summer slump, please consider establishing your weekly contribution through Online Giving. Information and instructions are included in this bulletin and on cards located in each pew.

AMAZONSMILE: A new, effortless way to help support Saint Michael Parish or Saint Michael School! AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.org), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by the customers. Go to smile.amazon.org, where you will be prompted to select a charitable organization. Please select Saint Michael School or Saint Michael Parish.

GRAND ANNUAL AT 78% OF $100,000 GOAL! If you

have not yet contributed to the parish’s Grand Annual Collection, please consider supporting this extremely vital fundraiser. If you have recently been contacted by our volunteer Grand Annual calling campaign and promised to contribute, please remember to send in your contribution as soon as possible. If you have already contributed, please prayerfully consider contributing again. Grand Annual envelopes are located at the church entrance. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support for our beloved parish.

Children’s Corner

Sharing the Gospel

Naming a baby is a special job. Grown-ups

often think long and hard before picking a

name for a baby. When John the Baptist was

born, his parents knew he was a special gift

from God. Their friends were surprised at his

name - John - and everyone was curious to

know what that special child would grow up

to do for God.
