Welcome to Louisiana Job Connection.
This Getting Started Guide will help you establish your company’s presence and
be-come better acquainted with Louisiana Job Connection’s features, so you can start
locating the right employees for your team.
Have your company’s 10-digit Louisiana State Tax ID and 9-digit Federal
Employers often equate time with quality during the hiring process, but slow hiring can actually put a damper on the experience for job seekers.

Creating a Company Profile
The first step in recruiting top candidates on
Louisiana Job Connection is registration. The
process takes only a few minutes.
Your 5-step registration
starts with the Register
link on the home page.

The first step in the registrationprocess is to enter your personal
Administrator Account Information.

The Employer Identification stepis where you provide some of the corporate identification information listed in the box on the right. The Louisiana State Tax ID verifies that your company is a Louisiana business.

In the third section, Employer Information, providedetails about the your company’s size and type.

Profile Options allows you to optimize LouisianaJob Connection for your company’s needs. • Specify the size of your recruitment team. • Enter jobs manually or reduce management
time by scraping them from another site.
• Have applicants submit résumés through Louisiana Job Connection or your company’s applicant tracking system. • Opt to develop a customized landing page targeted to
job seekers or send candidates to your company website. • Set your default match threshold which determines
how closely job seekers must meet your job
requirements before they show up on your dashboard.

In Communication Preferences, determine the typeand frequency of notifications you would like to receive. Finally, click Save & Continue to answer additional
details about company benefits and policies.
Before you start the
registration process, you
will need your company’s:
• 10-digit Louisiana State Tax ID • 9-digit Federal Employer
Identification Number • Corporate company name,
headquarters address, as well as the Louisiana name and address (if different from corporate name and headquarters address) • Industry Title (i.e. construction),
according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) • Number of employees around
the world and in Louisiana

Managing Multiple Divisions
Louisiana Job Connection is customizable for companies
of all sizes. If your company manages recruitment with
multiple teams across multiple divisions, the site can be
customized to work for you with a few simple steps.
Establish divisions at registration.
The Super Master Admin view provides access to all of your company’s divisions.
2 Ways to Bundle
During Step 4 of the registration process,
Profile Options, you have the option of
specifying that your company uses divisional recruiting teams. This will allow you to designate a name, leader and leader’s email address for each additional division. The result will be a bundle of divisions: the one you are creating by registering, as well as those you add at this step in registration. A bundle can also be created if someone else creates an account at Louisiana Job Connection after you, using the same State and Federal Tax IDs.
In either case, Louisiana Job Connection will follow up with your company to confirm the bundled accounts and to designate a Super Master Admin to oversee all divisions.
Super Master Admin view
Once a Super Master Admin is designated, he or she will receive an email with a separate login link. In the system, the Super Master Admin will have a view of all divisions, along with Master Admin names and contact information.
Clicking on any one of the divisions will allow the Super Master Admin to access the divisional account with the same privileges as a Master Admin: adding and deleting users, posting and editing jobs and corresponding with candidates.

Managing Users
Louisiana Job Connection works for recruiting
teams of one, or many. As the Master Admin of
your company’s site, you can determine who else
on your team has access to your account.
Adding users is easy.

In the navigation, clickCompany Profile, and
select Manage Users.

On the Manage Users tab,click Add New User, and
complete the information.

Once you add a new user, heor she receives an email with login instructions.
TIP: The Master Admin can also edit or delete users at any time under the Manage Users tab.
Reassigning the
Master Admin Role
To reassign the role of Master Admin, simply click the Master Admin button.
Users’ names and areas of oversight appear as the Master Admin adds them to the list.
Master Admins can easily reassign their roles to another user by clicking the Master Admin button.

Creating a Custom Landing Page
Louisiana Job Connection gives you the option to create
a customized landing page for job seekers. It’s your
opportunity to make a great first impression and show
potential employees why they should join your team.
Use the checkboxes to specify what you want to display about your company.
A few easy questions guide you through the process of building your landing page content.
The drag and drop interface makes it easy to arrange your landing page.
After electing to create your company’s landing page during registration, a message on your
dashboard will prompt you to complete it. If you did not opt to create a company landing page, you can always change this preference in the Profile Details
tab under Company Profile.
3 Easy Steps
Design this page with your target job candidates in mind. The goal is to differentiate your company from the competition.

Determine what you want job seekers toknow about your company, and then select areas of content you want to display.
TIP: Ask yourself: What would job seekers most want to know about my company? How can we demonstrate our company’s culture? What makes our company a great place to work?

Upload your logo (at a maximum pixel size of 300 x 200 and a file size no larger than 300kb), and fill in content areas. You probably will want to link to your company website.3

Using Your Dashboard
The Louisiana Job Connection dashboard is the command
center for your recruitment activities. From here you can
get a quick overview of recent activity and perform some
of your most important recruitment functions.
There are 3 main sections to
the dashboard.

At-a-Glance Section• Displays numbers of jobs posted, matches found and résumés submitted • Clicking in this section will
bring you to your Manage Jobs page.

Recent MessagesThe dashboard displays your most recent messages. From here you can go to your Manage Jobs page, your inbox or compose a new message.

Profile NotificationsThe notifications at the bottom of the page will remain until you complete the instructions.
Job Scraping Notification
From the dashboard, you can get a quick overview of recent activity and perform some of your most important recruitment functions.
A notification bar alerts you to new scraped jobs.
85% of the workforce is actively or passively looking for work and willing to talk to you.
Searching for Qualified Candidates
In addition to posting jobs, Louisiana Job Connection
allows you to search for candidates from a broad pool
of job seekers. These guidelines will help you make
the most of your search.
Begin your search by entering basic information
Keyword(s) – Supply keywords you would
want to find on the ideal candidate’s profile (ex. for accounting experience, type “accountant,” or “spreadsheet”). Separate multiple keywords with a comma.
Industry(ies) – Select industries to
search for jobseekers. Choose up to three.
Job Field(s) – Select desirable job fields.
Choose up to three.
Experience – Identify the years of
experience you want candidates to have.
Location(s) – Narrow your search
based on where job seekers have specified they are willing to work
(statewide, by region or multiple regions).
View Search Results
Narrow your choices by filtering match results.
• Send a candidate a message, browse candidate profiles, or start a new search.
The search feature provides a number of variables to help you focus your search.
The age of hiring with generic job boards is over, and it’s about time you realign your hiring strategy.

Posting Jobs
Louisiana Job Connection uses your job posting to find the
best candidates for your company. The more information
you supply, the better the matches will be. If you opted to
post jobs manually when you created your account, the
following guidelines will explain the posting process.
Post Jobs Directly from
Your Dashboard
• From the Dashboard, click the CREATE A NEW JOB button.
• Answer the questions to complete the information under Job Details. The more
information you provide, the more precise your matches will be. Determine who can see the job, and set the match threshold.
• Complete Job Requirements, Compensation Specifications, Benefits and, on the next screen,
add any Additional Job Details.
– You’ll need to know specifics, such as any required licenses or certifications, necessary travel or shift work and any required tests or assessments. • Click Review to see a preview of your posting.
• Click Edit Job, if necessary, to make changes and Post Job when your posting is final.
Now you’re ready to
receive applicants.
You can view your posted jobs anytime from your dashboard by clicking
Manage Jobs.
You can opt not to disclose salary and compensation specifications to applicants. However, it’s important to enter the information in the job profile, so the algorithm can accurately match candidates and jobs.

Scraping Jobs
If you already post jobs on another website, Louisiana
Job Connection allows you to automatically scrape them
by simply providing the URL. This is another way you
can customize the site, eliminating the need to create
postings twice.
Setup
You will have the choice to scrape jobs when you register with Louisiana Job Connection. Simply copy and paste the URL into the appropriate field from your existing job posting page. This can be your company’s careers page or another recruiting site you manage or work with.
TIP: If you choose to scrape jobs, you will not have the option to post jobs manually. You can change your posting preference in your profile settings at any time. However, you can always search for candidates, regardless of your job posting preference. Refer to the “Searching for Qualified Candidates” page for more information.
Managing Scraped Jobs

Louisiana Job Connection will scrape jobsevery 24 hours, posting a notification to your Master Admin account when new jobs are added.

Clicking the notification will bring you tothe pending jobs landing page. From there, you can choose to edit or delete jobs.

Once you click EDIT, you can review andmodify as needed, and then POST. Once
a job is posted, it moves to your Manage Jobs page and can be managed at any
time.
What if Scraped Jobs are Modified?
When scraped jobs are changed at the original source, a notification will appear next to the job title. You can then choose to leave the job as is or post the updated version.
You will get a notification on your dashboard when new scraped jobs are ready for review.
Edit or delete scraped jobs from the Scraped Jobs landing page.
Only 15 percent of job seekers say companies are responsive throughout the hiring process.

Using the Inbox
It’s easy to communicate with job candidates through
your Louisiana Job Connection inbox. In fact, your
inbox will allow you to send messages and respond to
inquiries — without ever leaving the site.
Getting to Know Your Inbox
Having initial conversations with candidates through your Louisiana Job Connection inbox allows you to keep recruiting separate from your regular workflow.
Your inbox allows many of the same functions as traditional email programs:
• Compose new messages
from the top left of your inbox. • Read or Reply to messages
from job seekers.
• Unread messages will appear in bold text.
• Open with a click. • Save, print or view job
seekers’ profiles.
• Delete a message by clicking
the trash can icon at the top of the page.
TIP: Your dashboard also provides a preview of your inbox, so you can access messages straight from your command center.
Your inbox functions like most traditional email programs.
Never miss a message from your prize candidate. An unread message notification on your navigation bar will let you know right away when there are messages
in your inbox. The navigation bar alerts you to new messages.
Recruiters report that over 50 percent of applicants for a typical job fail to meet the basic qualifications for that job.

Viewing and Messaging Job Matches
Louisiana Job Connection makes it easy to view and
send messages to all of your potential candidates,
whether they are perfect matches or just interested
job seekers.
From the Manage Jobs page, you can view a job seeker’s profile, which is
like a traditional résumé (including education, experience and skills).
Corresponding
with Candidates
To contact candidates, click
Create Your Message. From
there, you can either select all matches or applicants with one click or add them individually.
TIP: Sample messages are provided as templates for you to customize. This will help make your messages look polished and professional, while reinforcing your company brand.
TIP: Remember, job seekers cannot message you unless you message them first or they match a specific, posted job and want to express an interest in applying.
