Tournament Rules

WIAA Rules apply except the following:

Coaches: Each game you will vote for MVP on the other team. We will award a divisional MVP.

Home Team: Team listed 2nd is the home team and wears white/light uniform.

Tip Off: We will allow a 5-minute grace period and then you will forfeit the game.

Game: Two 16-min halves with running clock. Half Time = 1 min. 5 min warmups, if allowable.

Time Outs: (3) 30 second timeouts per game, can carry over to overtime and ball moves to half court.

Clock Stoppage: The last 10 seconds (1st Half) & last 5-minutes (2nd half) with a 10 point lead or less.

Clock Runs: Whenever there is a 20-point lead or more.

Overtime: 2-minutes, clock stops on every whistle, each team awarded 1 timeout, timeouts carry over.

Technical Fouls: Automatic 2 points & the ball. 2 Techs result in an ejection from that game.

Score Keepers & Operators: Each team to provide one for each game.

5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grades: Defensively, everything is allowed unless the lead is 20 points or more.

3rd & 4th Grades: Man-to-Man half-court defense only except the last 5 minutes of the 2nd half.

Basketball: 28.5 (3rd Grade thru 6th Grade boys and all girls’ teams) and 29.5 (7th & 8th Grade Boys)

Tie Breaker: 1-Head to Head, 2-Point Scored, 3-Points Allowed Individual Medals: For 1st place teams.

MVP: Scorekeeper write down MVP from the winning team – losing coach votes for MVP.

Subject: 2021 Crossover Summit - Girls 2/06 Coaches,

Good morning, hope all is well! This Saturday, January 30th we kick off the Boys Crossover Summit with some of the country’s top 8th grade boys teams – Wisconsin Playground and Iowa Barnstormers. Next week, Saturday, February 6th, the ladies hit the hardwood and we can’t be more excited with teams traveling from all over IL & WI and again with a very strong 8th grade girls division showcasing the state’s top teams! We have hired the Illinois Broadcasting group to come in and live stream the 8th Grade Girls Championship game with a professional broadcast of the pre-game show, in game commentary and post-game show! (see details below)

Thank you for your support and helping us become a preferred tournament option in the region!

I will finish the schedule tomorrow, but I wanted to get all of this out so you have enough time to get the items below done. I do apologize for not having the schedule done now but with my high school season going and 7 games in 10 days I am extremely busy!

Please note, there are some items that I need your help with by 2/1/21:

1. Please fill out the editable Team Roster enclosed and return it via email by 2/1/2021

2. Please fill out the COVID Player/Parent waiver enclosed and return it via email by 2/1/21 or bring it to check in

3. You will need to collect $10 from each fan to purchase wristbands via Venmo by 2/1/21 (see below for details) 4. We have to clear the gym after games, so if your team does not play the next game, players, coaches & fans

must exit

5. Please have your players change/put on coats etc in the gym and NOT THE LOBBY.

6. NO ONE CAN BE IN THE LOBBY, EVERYONE MUST BE OUTSITE THE FACILITY OR IN THE GYM

Please remember the losing coach will vote at the end of each game for the MVP of the winning team, we will take their pic and post it on social media, we do hand out an MVP Trophy per Division

SCHEDULE

I will finish the schedule tomorrow and provide the link for that on Tourney Machine

Due to the Saturday morning rec league our 1st round of games will begin at 2pm and last round of games start at 9:30pm while using 6 courts for all the girls teams that day

The 8th Grade Girls Division Championship game will have a professional broadcast with a pre-game show, in game commentary and post-game show along with being streamed on YouTube!

Coaches in this division please put together:

A pronunciation list of your players and coaches names

4-5 sentence bio for each player and coach so the commentators can talk about your players during the course of the broadcast

You can discuss their academic success, on the court success and additional hobbies along with where they will be playing high school basketball next year

PRE-PURCHASED TICKETS – Payment due 2/1/21 Via Venmo

Coaches please collect payment from your parents and then send us one payment for your wristbands via Venmo to @EvolutionBasketball

1 wristband per player MAX, $10 per wristband, player must be on your roster

Each team can purchase up to 10 wristbands even if you have less than 10 players on the roster Teams can purchase more than 10 wristbands only if they have more than 10 players on the roster Venmo is a mobile app under the PayPal platform, it literally takes 2 minutes to set up, very easy Also, once each team has purchased their wristbands if there are some available I will reach out and let everyone know after 12/20/20

COVID PRECAUTIONS

ENTRY BEFORE 1st Game FOR EVERYONE

 15 Min Before 1st Game

o Coaches meet up with your players & fans outside the MAIN ENTRANCE doors o Coaches check in at the Check-In Table (not with your players)

o Coaches will pick up wristbands for your fans and then hand them out (outside)

 10 Min Before 1st Game

o Bring your players in together to the Check-In Table

o Each player & coach is to check in and get their temperature taken o If your player is not on the roster they cannot play, NO EXCEPTIONS

 5 Min Before 1st Game Time

o Fans will be let in the gym by our staff and have their temperature taken (97.0-99.4 ok) FAN CAPACITY

 We have a capacity limit and tickets must be pre-purchased – NO EXCEPTIONS

o There is a max of 1 fan per roster player for the day, entry is $10 per fan for the day o Coaches, please send ONE payment via Venmo to @EvolutionBasketball by 2/1/21 o Include name of team, division, and quantity per team (if paying for multiple teams o FANS, PLAYERS & COACHES CAN BE OUTSIDE BUILDING OR IN GYM-NEVER THE LOBBY MASKS

 Must always be worn in the building except:

Wisconsin Evolution / Evolution Basketball Waiver of Liability Relating to COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is reported to be extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to- person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and even possibly in the air. People reportedly can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness and even death.

Wisconsin Evolution or Evolution Basketball cannot prevent you or your child(ren) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while utilizing Wisconsin Evolution or Evolution Basketball’s services. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to utilize Wisconsin Evolution or Evolution Basketball’s services you may be exposing yourself and your child(ren) and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my child(ren) in order to utilize Wisconsin Evolution or Evolution Basketball’s services.

These services are of such value to me [and/or to my children] that I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to utilize Wisconsin Evolution or Evolution Basketball’s services in person.
