We take a tour through the stunning halls and rooms of the 19th-century masterpiece allowing for ample time to fall in love with its stunning views. Post exploring the inspiration for Princess Aurora’s dwellings, we make our way back into Munich for a free evening.

Meals: Breakfast

DAY 4 - MUNICH - COLMAR (ALSACE, FRANCE)

Today we leave Germany for picturesque Alsace. The Alsatian region of France is absolutely breathtaking. Our destination is the town of Colmar. Fairytale lovers might notice something that may feel quite familiar about this town.

The setting for Belle’s hometown in Beauty and the Beast is a small provincial French city lined with colorful homes, cobblestone streets, and quaint shops — meaning it’s basically Colmar. See the colorful fishermen’s houses on the Quai de la Poissonnerie or the scenic Quartier des Tanneurs.

A B O U T T H E T R I P :

Who did not go to sleep dreaming about fearless fairytale characters, setting out on magical adventures in search of true love, to rescue a princess or to slay a dragon? The stories of the Grimm Brothers, Hans Christian Andersen and Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve inspired Disney to create Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast - just to name a few – and real locations around Europe inspired the settings for those films.

Let us take you on a fairy-tale journey that visits those places and landscapes. A journey that reveals the history of Neuschwanstein and Chillon Castles, tells the stories of the charming town of Colmar, discovers the romantic Loire

Valley and explores Paris, the city of lights. You don’t need a magic wand to be enchanted!

ENCHANTED - A FAIRYTALE JOURNEY

ITINERARY

Maybe the famous Petit Venice fountain will have you feeling a tad provincial or perhaps wandering through its small stone walkways gazing at the fachwerk style homes and shops will overwhelm you with the sense that there may be adventure in this great wide somewhere. Enjoy the day wandering through this amazing town or consider sampling famous Alsace wines at a local wine bar, before we re-group for dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5 - COLMAR - LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND - CASTLE CHILLON

This morning we say au revoir to Colmar and hello to Lausanne, Switzerland.

Lausanne, world headquarters of the Olympics, sits right at the edge of crystal clear Lake Geneva and is home to some incredible maritime specialties.

Before we get to the delicacies however, we visit the lakeside Castle Chillon.

If this beautiful castle doesn’t having you reaching for your dinglehopper to spruce up to meet your prince or princess then you need to know that Chillon served as the inspiration for Eric’s not so humble abode in the Little Mermaid.

After an exploration of the castle and a wine tasting, we make our way into Lausanne. Tonight we offer a fun dinner option; you may purchase a voucher that is applicable at three local restaurants. So, grab a few friends and choose whichever locale sounds the most appealing to you and experience some incredible Swiss cuisines!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

DAY 6 - LAUSANNE - PARIS, FRANCE - NOTRE DAME

This morning we say goodbye to the gorgeous Swiss mountains and the iridescent Lake Geneva and take a stunningly scenic train ride to the city of love, Paris. Upon arrival, take a tour of the city ending at the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. This 12th-century masterpiece served as a home to a very famous friend, Quasimodo. (Let’s not forget his gargoyle buddies; Laverne, Victor and Hugo!) Later on, prepare for a beautiful evening cruise down the Seine just as the Eiffel Tower prepares to illuminate. Post cruise enjoy an evening at your leisure.

Meals: Breakfast DAY 7 - PARIS

Take advantage of a free day in Paris and visit one or more of the cities amazing museums, such as the Louvre, the Picasso museum or Musee Rodin.

If you are up for an exciting excursion south, join us on an optional visit to the Loire Valley. In the morning we board our coach to the city of Orleans. This incredible city, famously saved from siege by Joan of Arc is incredibly close to a gem that would make any fan of fairytales’ heart flutter. We visit Chambord, located just outside of Orleans. This town is home to the exquisite Chateau de Chambord, which may not ring any bells when first laying eyes on it, but once we begin our tour of the chateau and its intricate stone spiral stairways, spindly towers and unreal rooms you may begin to see that there’s something there that wasn’t there before.

This beautiful building served as the inspiration for the Beast’s castle and I guarantee that you too wouldn’t mind taking up residence in such an incredible home. Our excursion also includes a visit to Château de Chenonceau which is after Versailles, the most visited castle in France. This stunning château, famed for both its impressive architecture and the natural beauty of the estate, inspired designs of Cinderella’s castle in the classic Disney film. After our tour of the chateau, we travel to a local vineyard for a tasting of some of the Loire Valley’s famous wines and a lovely scenic lunch. In the evening we return to Paris for some free time.
