INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP- 4 MARCH 2019
International Workshop on “Think global, act local - International trends in open science and repositories” was organized by Central Library of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering Pune, on 4 March 2019 in association with COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories) Prof Kazutsuna Yamaji Professor, Digital Content and Media Sciences Research Division, Japan was the Chief Guest for this International Workshop. Prof Miho Funamori Professor, Information and Society Research Division Associate, Japan, Dr Hideaki Takeda Professor, Principles of Informatics Research Division National Institute of Informatics, Japan Dr Sunita Barve (Senior Technical Officer, NCL, Pune) was resource persons for this workshop. Key note address given by Kazutsuna Yamaji he mentioned need of open access repositories for Indian Academic Environment. He spoke about current trends in open science and role of repositories. Prof Miho and Dr Hideki focused on Case studies of Japan with activities to link centre in Japan. and Dr Sunita Barve gave information about current trends in India. Group discussion sessions was held on open access related topics. Dr D S Bormane ( Principal AISSMS COE) was convener of this workshop. STUDENTS AUTHOR MEET 28 September 2018
To increase usages of Library facilities by students, AUTHOR – STUDENTS Meet event was organized by AISSMS COE, Central Library on 28 September 2018. The invited Author was senior writer Madhu Potdar and Shripad Brahme (Deputy News Editor, Maharashtra Times) Madhu Potdar sir focused on " Historical Pune" aspect. He narrated brief history of Pune from Peshvai to British Period. Shripad Brahme spoke on Journalism aspect and about newspaper publishing..Dr Bormane (Principal AISSSM COE) told the importance of reading. Mrs V S Dandawate was organizer of this event.

To increase usages of Library Online Journals Facility IEEE Training program was organized for faculties. Chandrakant Ganveer ( Senior Training Manager, Ebsco) give training on use of IEEE resource. Total 78 students attended this program.

One week International Workshop on "Information Management Tools for Academic and Research Libraries" was organized by Central Library of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering Pune, in association with Hasselt University Belgium from 18-22 December 2017.
Mr. Lars Bjørnshauge Managing Director of DOAJ was the Chief Guest for this International Workshop. He also delivered key note address on “Open Access Publishing” Paul Nieuwenhuysen (Professor, Virje Universiteit Brussels, Belgium) Pieter Lernout (Librarian, Bibliotheek Universiteit Hasselt, Belgium) Dr Egbert De Smet (Professor, University of Antwerp, Belgium), Dr Samir Jalal ( Deputy librarian, IIT Kharkhpur ) Kishore Ingale (Global Head TCS) Dr Sunita Barve (Senior Technical Officer, NCL, Pune) was resource persons for this workshop. The entire workshop has been well planned and more attention was given on learning new aspects like DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)ABCD (Library management Software) Word press (website design tool) with practical sessions. Various Library professionals from Maharashtra, Karnatka and Hyderabad attended this workshop.

"DOORS ARE OPEN KNOW ABOUT OPEN ACCESS 20-21 October 2016"
Two Day National Workshop on “Doors are open : Know about open access” was conducted in All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering Pune, in association with INASP UK on 20-21 October 2016. AISSMS COE Library participated in Open Access Week Competition and won a grant of 500$ from INASP UK to organize various event on “Open Access” at AISSMS COE. The main aim behind organizing this workshop was to sensitizing librarians and all faculty and students of AISSMS College of Engineering by giving them information about OPEN Access movement. This workshop will help them to learn more about Open Access, to adopt Open access practices help educate their colleagues at their institutional Campus.

Various Library professionals from South Africa, Maharashtra, Goa, and Hyderabad attended this workshop. Mr Eric Muheto got scholarship from Burundi University (South Africa) to attend this workshop.

To develop reading habits among the students every year AISSMS Library is organizing Author – Students meet event, where students are getting chance to interact to books authors. This year Dr Chitale Ex Principal, Fergusson College, Pune came as guest author for his book "Olkha Swatala Ghadva Swatala" and Adv. Vaishali Bhagwat, Pune talk about Cyber Crime and Security. 48 students and staff attended this meet.

National Level Conference on “Impact of Web Technologies and E-Resources on Library Services”
27-28 September 2013
Two day National Level Conference on “Impact of Web Technologies and E-Resources on Library Services” was organized by Central Library of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering, Pune, on 27-28 September 2013. Dr D K Veer, Librarian, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangbad and SOUL Coordinator Maharashtra and Goa region, Aurangabad) was the Chief Guest for this function. He emphasized in his key note address Web technologies significance in the achievement of LIS educational goals/objectives, fulfillment of the primary tasks of LIS Education, productivity and quality of information retrieved through resources, and how emerging web technologies will be helpful for librarians to improve their services. Library professionals from Cochin, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Karnataka, Delhi, Raigarh and Gujarat presented their research papers on web technology theme in this Conference. Total 68 participants registered for this conference. Program was started with Inaugural function. Conference proceeding was released by the Chief Guest Dr D K Veer.

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON DRUPAL CONTENT MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FOR LIBRARIANS
05 October 2012
One day workshop on “ Drupal Content Management Software” was organized by aissms coe, central library on 05 october 2012 for Librarians. The main objective of the workshop was to provide participants hands-on on ‘Drupal Content Management Software’ from installation to creating a dynamic Library Websites. The workshop comprises of lectures, demonstration and hands on training using Drupal Software in detail. Sanjay verma (Drupal project manager at Max Bohr Consulting, Pune) was the trainer for this workshop. Total 25 librarians from various colleges from Pune and Mumbai attended this workshop.

To increase usages of Library facilities by students, AUTHOR – STUDENTS Meet event was organized by AISSMS COE, Central Library on 14 September 2012. Dr. Devkar (Head of Electronics Dept, Sinhgad Institute of Technology and Science) and Mr Atul Kahate (Consulting Practice Director of Orcal Financial Service Software Ltd) was the Guest Author for this event .This training program was useful for faculty as well as students. Queries regarding VHDL subject were solved in this Program. Total 76 students from Computer and Electronics Department attended this program.

National Conference Application of Six Sigma in Library Science : 30 Sept 2011
One day National Level Conference on “Application of Six Sigma in Library Science Field” was organized by Central Library of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Engineering, Pune, on 30 September 2011. Dr Satish Kanamadi (Deputy Librarian, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai) was the chief guest for this function. Academic Adviser of AISSMS, Dr S W Dharmadhikari delivered key note address on
“Application of the concept of six sigma in improvement for the services in the field of library and information science”. He emphasized on six sigma process and quality enhancement functions and variation concepts. Library professionals from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Karnataka and Gujarat presented their research papers on six sigma theme in this Conference. Total 59 participants registered for
this conference. Total 53 papers were submitted for Conference, out of which 33 papers were selected
