Additional Pay
Definitions
Additional Pay: Recurring payments made to an employee as other earnings. (Formerly Extra Pay Non “I” Parameters.) Examples: Automobile allowance, equipment allowance, out of class.
Multiple Component of Pay: An employee’s compensation comprises multiple compensation components. You can assign pay amounts for base pay, years of
experience, and educational level. Multiple components of pay enable you to calculate percentage compensation. (Formerly Extra Pay “I” Parameters.) Examples: Longevity and educational stipends.

Which Earnings Codes are used for
Additional Pay?
This list shows a sampling of earning codes used for Additional Pay in PeopleSoft Payroll (like ATO, BND, BNI, and so on).
See the table on pp.5-9 of the guide.
Grey rows are not Additional Pay – those are MCOPs.

Retirement Reporting Earnings Codes
An employee’s compensation may be comprised of base pay, multiple components of pay, and additional pay. PeopleSoft automatically applies retirement earnings codes to identify wages subject to retirement reporting and retirement contribution
calculations.
These codes may be viewed internally as Other Earnings on
Review Paycheck and on Paysheets. These codes are inserted by the retirement processing that is run during each Pay Calc.
These codes will not be seen by employees on their paystubs.

– ARS – Alternative Retirement System
– PERS – Public Employee’s Retirement System – STRS – State Teachers Retirement System
