Request for Exception to Time Requirements
Candidates for graduate degree programs are expected to complete all requirements for their degree within seven years from their initial enrollment in their graduate program. identified, the student must provide information at to how he/she maintained currency in the field of study during the time that has elapsed since the original completion of the course. Normally, no more than 9-12 hours of coursework outside the time-to-degree limit will be considered. All Requests for Exception must be submitted to the student’s academic advisor and chair for review and recommendation. The advisor should carefully verify the student’s plan for completion and the information regarding currency in the specified areas for courses falling outside the time to degree limit. The chair may send the signed form directly to the Graduate School or email it to graduateschool@eku.edu. The student, advisor and chair will be informed of the Graduate School’s action within 15 days from receipt. The student may appeal the
Graduate School’s decision by submitting an email request to the Graduate School within 5 days of notification of Graduate School action. Appeals may be considered by the Graduate Council and the decision of the Council is final.
