Healthcare Contract Renewal

The Academy requires a full-time licensed registered professional nurse with a Type 73 School Nurse Certification on premises at IMSA plus an additional part-time nurse while students are on campus from August through the first week of June. IMSA also requires a licensed registered nurse on premises for up to seven weeks during summer programs. A request for proposal to obtain Student Health Services was issued on September 21, 2011. One responsive proposal was received from Copley Memorial Hospital. A contract was issued including the option to renew for an additional four years. This is the third renewal year in the amount of $154,060.00 for FY15 which reflects a 1.58% CPI-Medical Services price increase per the contract terms.

Sodexo Food Services Contract Renewal

In July 2010 the Board approved a food services contract with Sodexo USA, which was renewable after the initial contract for up to nine additional years. This is the fourth year of the nine-year contract renewal option from August 1, 2014 to July 31, 2015 in the amount of $1,214,484.20 for FY15. Pricing reflects a .557% CPI-Food Away From Home price increase per the terms of the contract.

Policies – 2nd Reading

 Student Discipline Policy (Revised)

 Chemical Possession and Use Policy (New)  Employment Separation/Termination (Revised)

CADRE

CADRE, Career Development Reinforcing Excellence, combines performance assessment and professional growth for faculty. It is a collaborative covenant in which IMSA as an institution and the faculty, as a professional group, holds specified expectations of each other. Throughout the year, the CADRE committee has worked in collaboration with faculty to help develop a new CADRE document. The proposed revisions to CADRE are being presented for a second reading and include the following major changes:

 Removed process details from CADRE document and moved to procedural document

 Changed Second Contract from a 2-year contract to an optional 1-year contract

 Changed documentation process for the first two contracts

 Formulated a more focused plan for the Continuing Contract

 Changed the process for significant performance concerns

 Changed the appeal process

The proposed new CADRE document is linked to the Agenda. An overview of CADRE changes and the current CADRE document are attached to the Appendix.

Diversity Plan – 2nd Reading

The Diversity Plan, informed utilizing the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education, was presented for a 1st reading in May. The proposed plan connects to current IMSA groundings and practices, such as the IMSA law, our mission and beliefs, Standards of Significant Learning and CADRE. It addresses various groups within underrepresented populations, facilities and assisted technologies, along with integration of diversity into our curriculum. Modifications made after the first reading with feedback from Trustees included: naming the Board as responsible for approving and overseeing the Diversity Plan, reordering objectives and strategies to emphasize priorities, and completing the Diversity Plan logic model. Also, a specific strategy focusing on males and the promotion of positive masculine characteristics was added. Once approved, an evaluation plan will be developed with input from each of the responsible departments and guidance from the Office of Research and Institutional Effectiveness. A communication plan will also be developed with guidance from the Office of Marketing and
